ToDo List:

*Call work on Saturday to find out when I'm working next week
*Make a Booty Chest uniform to wear as a hall costume at Balticon
*Reply to Jesse, Tricia, Newt
*Cook something for dinner. Real mac and cheese, maybe? I'd have to buy ingredients, methinks.
*Work more on unpacking and whatnot
*Harass Veronica sometime, find out when more Buffy can happen.
*Take apart my fabulous green wench skirt in order to make it into a pattern in order to make more fabulous skirts.
*Run that last load of laundry

I'm sure there are other things, but they are probably boring. Like these, only moreso.

I like that I always feel quite on top of things and ready to accomplish just everything ever when I get home for the summer, and then promptly forget about it all about a week later.

One year ago today, it was 2008, and I was (shocking nobody who's ever had an extended conversation with me ever) interested in gender and sexuality.

I also believe I originally meant to post up some thoughts on that poll, ages and ages ago, and then got distracted. At the very least, go fill it out for me if you haven't, okay? Or, if you want to do the really quick and dirty version in the comments of this post...

You list as [gender(s)]:
Explain:

You are attracted to people of [gender(s)]:
Explain:

You consider yourself [poly/mono/etc]:
Explain:

You are currently in relatinships best described as [none/mono/poly/complicated/etc]:
Explain:

And, bonus question, since I forgot it in the original poll:
Your preferred pronoun is:

Seriously. This kind of thing fascinates the hell out of me. Babble1 about gender and sexuality and stuff like that in the comments, please!

~Sor
MOOP!

1: No, really, Har, Dodger, etc. I like hearing people's thoughts, especially about this. I am encouraging long comments, damnit. Don't let yourself be limited by the thought that I'm going to be overwhelmed --if you're that worried, just toss a one line summery at the bottom for ease of skimming. I promise to read the whole thing though.

You know what? Nothing amuses me like being silly, so I'm thinking I'm just going to repost this with slight changes.

Because three years ago today, it was 2006. And I decided to be a comments whore.

No one ever comments in my journal! Therefore, I'm going to delete it, and commit suicide. Possibly involving a fish, although I might use my Ravonous Bug-Blatter Beast of Traal.

After I'm done with that, I might go somewhere. Cool!

I've recently had a major life change! Thats right -I've morphed into an androgynous three eyed hooloovoo, with an extra arm shaped like a fork. And I'm getting divoriced from my friend Shirly. She's such a bitch.

But there are many cool people who aren't bitches. [livejournal.com profile] thorog's not a bitch for instance. He's smart. Same with [livejournal.com profile] naraht. And [livejournal.com profile] muzikmaker21 is of course just awesome. I got to see herhim
(Oh god this is old) this weekend. I also saw [livejournal.com profile] werewulf. And [livejournal.com profile] artemisfowl2nd. And later I get to see [livejournal.com profile] jere7my and [livejournal.com profile] marcmagus! But not [livejournal.com profile] macaroniandtuna or [livejournal.com profile] drama_angel3189 which is a shame, because they are also cool people.

I am wearing very little! I won't post pics though, because I'm embarrassedtoo lazy to turn on the webcam.

I saw this article about abortion in the paper. It was all about Montana's abortion laws. I think Montana is boring, except for Montana Jones. He's cute. Those are my opinions!

(((To all the people giving me VERY strange looks at this point, I'm merely playing with the idea of the Naraht-ian laws of getting comments)))

Some thoughts:

*Working on a big resolutions from last year and for this year and lots of trustbabble post

*Phones and the way I use them is on my mind right now

*So, whenever I was last trawling the Comics Curmudgeon hardcore, which I think was back during the summer (possibly even *early* summer) I started reading this blog that got linked in there at some point. Today, I learned that the author is the dad of one of my friends from high school. Um...yeah. The world is small sometimes.

*I'm gonna start a commune

*I kinda want to do a "best of 2008" posts thing

*OHSHIT! My secret livejournal project that I was going to work on for 2009! I'll post that in a minute.

*Still need to figure out how I'm getting to and sleeping at the Dance Flurry in February

*Dancing is cool. I like what Larry said about being a historical dance group that doesn't particularly like historical music. This has led me to begin1 finding songs in my collection of generally modern stuff that are danceable. Most recent additions are a handful of Who Killed Amanda Palmer songs --"Runs in the Family" and "Ampersand" are waltzs (though the former is far too fast to actually dance to), "I Google You" is a blues, and "Guitar Hero" is a really good one-step.

*I like that spellcheck thinks danceable is a word.

*I should be entertaining to Swing somehow, but my brain is a little bit out of social, which is why I've been playing on the internet for some time anyways.

*My nails are longer right now then they've been just about ever. On the one hand, that makes 'em really good for scritching people. (From the New Year's Party-- "Kat, I love my wife, but you've made me realize her one big flaw --she doesn't have nails!") but on the other, I'm going slightly insane having them so long, and am going to bite them all short probably before I even make it back to Boston for Arisia.

And I'm sure there are more things on my mind, but I think I'm out for now. Byeee!

"The rules are easy, just post 10 things that recently made you happy! Then tag 10 people and force them to post this meme on their LJs. Because it is good. Everyone needs a little happiness once in a while."

Ten things that have recently made me happy:

1) My boyfriend is coming to visit me this weekend! <3

2) I watched the Jungle Book on Saturday with Jess.

3) I kinda sorta got to see Annaliese on Saturday, through the wonders of the interwob. Hush, I still got to see The Goddess. That's totally happy-fying.

4) Have I mentioned the Kinder Bueno bars yet? Kinder Bueno bars.

5) Mary is becoming friendlier to me. :)

6) The fact that I have not one but TWO pieces of fanart drawn for SOMETHING I WROTE. *squee!*

(Okay, it was a lifefic. And they're more illustrations then fanart. I STILL have fanart, DAMNIT!)

7) The fact that this picture somehow makes me look elegant.

8) Lauren and I now have codenames and injokes and a constant mission (Avoid subject 23-fucking-19). We also invented a game, which is an awesome game, called "Version 2.7" We should go play it again tonight or something. Need to find a tennis ball... >>

Yeah, I have friends! How wild is that?

9) Theatre is life. <3 I guess this means I'm living again.

10) The leaves have started to change, meaning that the already gorgeous view out my window is becoming even prettier. I shall have to go wandering.

11) (Of course it goes up to eleven. :D ) All the wandering makes me seem much smarter then I actually am. ACTUAL QUOTE: "Wow, you're pretty smart [to know about that]" "No, I just walk a lot." (Angelica/Me)

12) I am in a nonexistant band now. Mushmallows fo'EVER!!

(I play the drums. Of course. :D)

13) Maeve

14) "You're Winner!". Seriously, I nearly pissed myself laughing at all the reviews and everything.

15) I can't really remember the last thing, but it's all good. :)

Before any actual posting gets done, here in the first line that people actually read, I just need to say that Skullx is SUPER AWESOME! for making me a new avatar, without even being asked. The extremely astute may note that it looks exactly like the other avatar he made me, only about four years older, in Boston, and with a duck. Oh, and wearing glasses, since apparently my original pirate skullx doesn't have glasses on it (Which I totally didn't realize until just now.)

So yeah. Skullx is incredibly awesome. *gives him cookies*

Onto other stuff.

Eventually I may get the "what I've been doing" post up, but in the meantime, this is just a bookpost, mostly to keep track for myself.

Yesterday I read:

The Pirates Mixed Up Voyage by Margaret Mahy (Who is apparently an EnZed native and I would TOTALLY GO STALK HER if I ever got out there.) I actually started this one a few days over, but I read most of it yesterday. It is, of course, my favourite childrens book ever, and my "Today has blown donkeys, I need a good book" book. This was the first time I'd read it in about five months due to assorted circumstances.

and

Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas. I've read this once before, and I enjoyed it just as much this time. Rats Saw God is a sort of counterculture coming of age story, with a narrator who is actually intelligent, and a lot of dadist art and culture floating around. It's a pretty good story, and what kick started my (albeit small) interest in dada.

More later. I actually hope to chronicle every book I read while up here. For now though, I need to do some homework.

I will say this about todays adventures: I walked over to the xkcd park, mostly to find out how long it would take (about half an hour if I go the Mass Av route --I'm sure there's a quicker way, it just requires more directions) and it is a Good Playground. The giant pyramidal thing in the satellite view on GoogleMaps? It's a giant thing to climb on, made entierly by rope fastened together in various shapes. It's beautiful.

September 23rd can't come soon enough!

Soyeah. Stuff.

Life has been completely non-busy, while feeling reeeeeeeeally full. About the only thing I've done of late is go to Much Ado About Nothing on Saturday, and the ensuing birfday party of bigness.

Oh yeah, and I got sick at Becky's house due to mysterious spontaneous flu on Friday. BUT, before that, we managed to warp her legos into giving us a sembelance of TennantWho/Rose. So that is a Good Thing. Picture is right Here.

Oh! I finished my Mission 101 list. So hey, poll question for you all:

[Poll #922219]

The actual list will be up ANY DAY NOW! I swear. Hokay, so I'm lying. Shh.

See, if I wasn't lazy, I could post it right now. I'm sure you're all desperate to know what random goals I'd like to get done in the next two years and eight months.

So, I've been busy rereading the archives of xkcd, which *continues* to be the most amazing comic...ever.

And *damn* I want a "Just shy --Not Anti-social!" t-shirt. I may have to get mum to order me one when she gets home. Because that is a beautiful shirt.

So, music babblings. I was gonna do the "Movie soundtrack meme" but it turned out quite lame. SO you get some percentages instead.

I have, at this moment in time, 2980 songs. Which is a good deal of music --9.11 Gigs, or about 6 and 2/3 days.

Of this music selection:

03.22% is Weird Al (96/2980)
04.97% is random, generally Indie, music that Tho has sent me (148/2980)
24.23% is showtunes (722/2980)
03.42% is TMBG (102/2980)
01.84% is related to RHPS (55/2980)
01.51% turns up when I enter the letter "Q" into the searchbox (45/2980)
07.45% is the H2G2 related (radioplays, movie soundtrack, and Marvin songs.) (222/2980)
01.64% is Schoolhouse Rock (49/2980)
03.46% is some sort of Christmasish Music (103/2980)
08.52% has never been played (254/2980)
00.70% has been played more then 100 times. (21/2980)
00.17% has been played more then 200 times. (5/2980)

Any other percentages you'd like to see?

...You know what this reminds me of? My LONG SINCE DEFUNCT project where I was assigning songs to peoples elljays for...some reason. I think it was so I could be "I'm bored. Who's elljay am I gonna read the whole of today?"

At any rate...that activity crashed messily. Haven't touched it at least half a year, maybe more -I've still got Tho unlisted, for crissakes, and he's CERTAINLY rectified that particular musical problem. (((Hum, "Only Anarchists are Pretty" or "Up Against It"? Oh, questions...)))

...also, why is Ms Hecabus listed with Mrs Robinson? I'ma gonna assume she was quoting from it at one point...or...something. Yeeeeeeah. Like I said, WOEfully out of date.

...I'm out. See ya kids later.

First off, it's far too dull to write about my life. New Years was fun. FINALLY seeing the rest of season one of Black Books with Eric (dratted boi...:p) was fun. School is ocassionally fun.

But I could write that all I wanted, and it just wouldn't serve a purpose.

So I have two general updates in the works (read: hiding in the back of my head) and this one. Whcih is devoted to as many quotes as I feel like putting in here. Enjoy?

"Gentlemen, it ain't your penii I'm envying. It's your ability to wear sweatshirts."
~SaveTheGreyhounds, here

"If I were a boy, I'd be so hot! I'd wear my hair long and my kilts short...wait, what?"
~Anon, but it's all Allyson's fault.

"That's not nice!"
"Neither is running people over with tanks, but I do that anyways..."
~Veronica and Ryan (Yes Mohr-Paul...Little Jerry) 30Aug

"In Ireland, we don't tell people to shut up. Instead, we just have a beer and punch them in the face."
~Nathan, (Kid in AdComp) 28Sep

"We can do a three-way"
~Mr. Bittner, when everyone was arguing about who gets to read the story. 26Oct

"Oreo Cookies and Budwiser -The breakfast of champions!"
~I'm not going to credit this one as I don't want him to get in trouble. But I'll give you a hint...he's massivly cool, and he teaches physics. 28Sep

"He doesn't NEED to cut his hair. All he NEEDS to do is pay his taxes and die."
~Loona!! 24Sep

"It's one God, many parts. It's like a transformer!"
~Veronica, 25Sep

"It's the language of love! And SEX!! No wait! Just love. Love. No sex. Although, if you're willing..."
Nathan, 8Nov

"Gravity weighs more over here!"
~I'm sad to say that this bit of stupidity came out of my mouth. It's right up there with that stupid Lions remark in ninth grade...1Dec

"It's implying that people will make out with you if you buy from American Eagle."
"Thats not true! I bought this whole outfit from American Eagle and NO ONE made out with me!!"
~Kelsey, AdComp...it really has the best quotes in that class. 2Dec

"And he was in O-town! Thats even gayer then being gay!!"
(Yes, I'm bad for laughing at this one. But I like the idea of 'Gayer then gay')
~Kelsey again, 9Jan

"He's sortof emo, but he doesn't cut himself because, as he says, 'My tattoos are too expensive!'"
~Lorin, the new girl on the block. 10Jan

"I didn't know you were GREEDY!"
~Lorin again, referring to my "bi" ness. 10Jan

"Screw the baby, it's MY juicebox!!"
~Kates, about one of the Giant and Mommyrex's childrens (methinks Karl) trying to get her juice. 1Jan

So that is all.

So, it's time to begin the ego boosting, everyone's favorite activity!

I decided to start with a lovely lady who I don't know nearly as well as I'd like to. Thats right, our first guest is the lovely miss SaveTheGreyhounds! She's a dog lover (oh is she ever) a pasquirlio lover, and an all around awesome sluggite.

She first came onto Sluggy.net with the usual batch of information, along with a very special name. SaveTheGreyhounds is and will continue to be her battle cry, Save these marvolous racing dogs from a life of abuse, or being put to sleep. It is a noble goal and she does her best to promote it, boldly proclaiming it in her username(s). She's rocketed out of newbiedom (although people still confuse her with shirt guy tom ocassionally.*) straight into the relms of well known posters.

She is a regular in the old villages down in FRPG, and can often be found touting what she needs to kill a werewolf or two when nessecary. Or perhaps she's just trying to lull you all into a false sense of security...

Hooray for a way cool chick who loves cute little doggies and her boy, TC1. And hooray for being old enough to drink.

So...notes...

I think I'm slightly mentally masochistic. What otehr possible excuse would I have for going and reading tHGttG out loud today in the media center at lunch. Not that I had anyone to read to. *wishes she did* Fahrenheit 451's pretty good for reading aloud too, I'll have to bring it with me when I go to Cali. Which will happen! Eventually.

Quote of the day: "Words hurt the most." Stephanie, in a mutual friends journal. Oh how very very true that is.

Other quote of the day: "Ack! Gay-bashing on my friends page! How could you, dot?" Llefser, refering to our mutual friend dottles post about EQII and how she wants to go kill fairies tonight (for a quest or something) Made me laugh.

Lesse...Other stuff...I know I had more...

OH! NEW OBSESSION!!!!

I am now quite thourgholy obsessed with maile.* This is because it's quite wonderfully AWESOME. Basically what started this was Bernie calling me last night and inviting me to an intro to maile seminar thingy at one of the librarys (having a librarian mom rocks) 'twas me, fish, Bernie, and Irva (Bernies mom) and it was way fun.

Notes:
*Omar's son was teaching it. He is WAY FREAKING COOL (but of course, how could he have a mom that awesome and not have at least a LITTLE of it rub off) He used to read Sluggy (hasn't since stormbreaker) and was wearing a most excellently beautiful reddish shirt. I loved it. He is also Bernies clone.
*Matt's DM was there, who is a beautiful, beautiful man. He reminded me very strongly of a darker haired Newmoon**.
*I am currently wearing a maile bracelet that I made and attached around my wrist. So, it won't come off with out the use of my pliers. Rock.

I think thats all for now.

Just put Sage and Pace to bed and am now abusing their internet...I like babysitting.

These two are VERY differnt from watching Koob...A LOT more energy I'd have to say.

Anyway, theres not really much to update about my life. No AIM which makes me sad since I'd love to continue that conversation I was having last night with Reth (BTW, Kat and Reth: I didn't log out on purpose. I went to get a drink, the computer logged me out, and then the parents came home, hence the reason I didn't say goodnbye. Also, if either of you are willing to send me a copy of that chat (if you have it) I will love you forever.)

So I'm just hanging out playing solitaire. And hearts. I really need to see if it's possible to get these back. hmmm...I wonder where my original installation CD's are...

Anyway, therese not really much else except for the fact that I apparently look like a young Inspy. I need to find a book and do it in the right pose...

Notes:

My concubines really shouldn't be spending time in the contract room. It reflects badly on me, like I don't bother to take care of you guys. Yes, i'm talking to you One. *pseudoglares*

Evning Circle songs make very good lullybyes. The problem is, I sing them and then I am forced into my memories, and I get sad. *sigh*

Koob is so awesome. He was very hyper and bouncy today, but then, I put him down in his bed and sang to him and he CRASHED. It was so cool.

I had a rather nice chat with Daniel yesterday. Neverminding the fact that Daniel is a healer-vampire spun out of my mind within the past week who sortof has a "thing" for Rin. Yet he still preferered chatting with me to chatting with her. Makes a girl feel loved.

My new avatar is a picture of me wearing 's nice hat. It is beautiful.

Oh and on my current mental status...

Kat has her concubine number 42. Jonny!!!!! has his Mykal. Sarah has her Michael. Llef has his Ellie. Jeremy has his Laurie.

And if you want to get REALLY broad with it, Mom has dad, Janny has Conrad, Crossroads has his boy, Tyler has Flame, Ednoria and Kugelblitz have each other, Chickenhat and Whymydiddle have each other (ok, technically all the people listed above have each other, I'm just listing the people I know.) ...

The list goes on and on. Dammit, I don't need a guy(/girl) in my life to be happy, I know that. But it's damm hard to be perfetly and utterly content when everyone else around you DOES have one.

I miss Taya.

Hell, forget that, I miss KAT! I've barely talked to her this week (damm you Mrs H for giving me that project) How is that possile. How is it at all possible to mss someone you've never met, never seen, barely even know what she looks like...(I could pick her out of a crowd...maybe. I'd be looking for the one wearing the hand drawn t-shirt, trenchcoat, and sunglasses.)

But yeah. I miss Taya. I miss the intense "want" feeling I got every time I saw her, I miss being able to hold her hand at evening circle, I miss laughing at her antics and wishing she felt the same way about me as i did for her...I just miss the kid.

a distracting interlude between Miss Katarina de MOOP! and an agent of the LAW! )

And I find I'm losing what little control I had over my charecters. Oh joy.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] katarina_tales is my new story-journal. I'm going to be moving stuff there over the next few days and the making it AWESOME.
