sorcyress: Picture of a smiling tampon with the phrase "Girls: We're so emo we don't even NEED to cut ourselves" (Emo-period)
Three years ago today, it was 2006. And one of my favourite icons was inspired!

Seriously. I think that this is the only icon that's survived my elljay fluctuating from paid to not and all the pruning I've had to do because of it. Because, seriously?

It's a happy tampon.

Soyeah. Thanks again, Tho!

First off, apologies to [livejournal.com profile] futuresoon, who I stole this lovely icon from, precisely for the purposes of making this post. Go watch Tin Man, if you haven't, it's good fun, Alan Cumming is beautiful, and it has Kat's number one hottest actress as the lead. (Ee, Zooey)

ANYWAYS!

Glitch had his brain cut out because he knew too much. Zaphod cauterized his own brain to hide the fact that he knew too much. Discuss.

(No, there was no point to this post, besides to illustrate the fact that I think about some weird shit sometimes.)

I'm repeating the pick-six-userpics and explain meme, mostly because I really like talking about my pictures.

Soyeah. This time I did the meme from:

Harena )

Eric )

Talia )

Soaring Dragon )

And that's all for tonight, folks!

YAY MEMES!

Comment on this post. I will choose six userpics from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are using them. Post your answers (and this explanation of the meme) in your own journal (if you want) so others can play along. Or heck, post them here if you don't want to toss it into your own journal, I don't mind.

Mom wanted to know about:

1) Dumblydore:

So, there's this journal [livejournal.com profile] potterpuffs which is pretty much amazing, if defunct. And so I decided to take Dumbledore, who has been my favourite Harry Potter character since "Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!", and turn him into an icon. I have (not uploaded) an icon with the same text, only with a picture of Loony Luna Lovegood.

I use this one when I'm feeling exceptionally carefree and happy. The world looks so damn beautiful!

2) Suicide Marsha:

College Roomies From Hell did a storyline where Marsha, in a fit of total life-suck, decided to step off the roof of her building and end it all. See here. She looked so sad and so strangely beautiful in that first panel, that I had to iconify it.

I use the icon for my hella-emo posts, and some thoughtstreams. Generally, if I'm crying when I write a post, I'll use this icon.

3) GID

GID --Goldheart Infinity Delorous is my puppydog. She says 42 if you squeeze her ear. OtherKat sent her to me for our first Christmas where we swapped presents, and she remains soft and fuzzy.

This picture just turned out hella good, really. So I iconified it. I do not use it very often, and it's one of the ones I might eventually drop.

4) Mr ORLY

O RLY? is one of the meme's that I have totally not fallen into (unlike lawlkitties), but this icon made me laugh like it was going out of style. Mostly, I just like Mr. Men.

This icon is technically supposed to be used when I'm talking about memes, but I don't think I keep good enough track.

5) I like Ham

Okayso.

There's this really amazingly funny book called "The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists" which Luna gave me for Christmas 2006. I lurved the book to bits and pieces, and mentioned one day that I wanted an icon of Captain Mal and Zoey pulling off the Pirate Captain and the pirate with the scarf's ham dialogue. Tho obliged. \

Ideally, I would use this one to discuss books, ham, and pirates!

6) Clone Me

This icon made more sense when OKat had hers up as well. Tho randomly gifted the two of us with mirror image birdhouses, each with a line from "Birdhouse in your Soul" on them. It made it hard to tell the two of us apart. :D

I should use this to talk about Katters, Blue, or TMBG. Except I have a TMBG icon, so I don't need to.

Yep.

Happy Guy Fawkes day, everyone!

I plan on celebrating by watching V for Vendetta with SOMEONE, damnit! Or alone. That works too. I just absolutely HAVE to watch this movie tonight --it's a rule. Anyone willing to join me?

Andyeah.

Man, I wonder how much wandering I'd have to do to find people with a bonfire. >>

Uhm. Yeah. One year anniversiry of me seeing V for Vendetta! Woo!!

Before any actual posting gets done, here in the first line that people actually read, I just need to say that Skullx is SUPER AWESOME! for making me a new avatar, without even being asked. The extremely astute may note that it looks exactly like the other avatar he made me, only about four years older, in Boston, and with a duck. Oh, and wearing glasses, since apparently my original pirate skullx doesn't have glasses on it (Which I totally didn't realize until just now.)

So yeah. Skullx is incredibly awesome. *gives him cookies*

Onto other stuff.

Eventually I may get the "what I've been doing" post up, but in the meantime, this is just a bookpost, mostly to keep track for myself.

Yesterday I read:

The Pirates Mixed Up Voyage by Margaret Mahy (Who is apparently an EnZed native and I would TOTALLY GO STALK HER if I ever got out there.) I actually started this one a few days over, but I read most of it yesterday. It is, of course, my favourite childrens book ever, and my "Today has blown donkeys, I need a good book" book. This was the first time I'd read it in about five months due to assorted circumstances.

and

Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas. I've read this once before, and I enjoyed it just as much this time. Rats Saw God is a sort of counterculture coming of age story, with a narrator who is actually intelligent, and a lot of dadist art and culture floating around. It's a pretty good story, and what kick started my (albeit small) interest in dada.

More later. I actually hope to chronicle every book I read while up here. For now though, I need to do some homework.

I will say this about todays adventures: I walked over to the xkcd park, mostly to find out how long it would take (about half an hour if I go the Mass Av route --I'm sure there's a quicker way, it just requires more directions) and it is a Good Playground. The giant pyramidal thing in the satellite view on GoogleMaps? It's a giant thing to climb on, made entierly by rope fastened together in various shapes. It's beautiful.

September 23rd can't come soon enough!

Icon idea

Hoooookay. So. Anyways.

A long time ago, Harry Potter 4 came out in movie form. I saw it, was thoroughly unimpressed, and determined to ignore it for the rest of time.

A slightly less long time ago, I was introduced to David Tennant. (Get a copy of "Army of Ghosts" playing, and I can get you to the exact moment I was introduced to the Whofandom) This was a totally groovy thing.

Sometime less time ago then that, I correlated the facts that David Tennant was in Harry Potter with the fact that we don't actually own that monstrosity. So I moped, and resolved to watch him sometime when I was given the oppertunity.

Today, my brain FINALLY kicked into gear, and I remembered that YouTube solves all problems.

So. My question is this. Does anyone have the ability to make an icon of Tennant!Crouch with the whole bishie snarl crazy and a caption of "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"? Cause man, that shit makes me giggle like a ferret stuck in a pixie stick factory.

So, the moral of this entry? Sweaty dirty crazy Tennant is *such* a good thing. Secondary moral? If the Harry Potter industry continues using Tennant as an actor, maybe it can be saved.

Spent the day at the farm, enjoying the fact that the camera I got for christmas has a whopping sixteen MB of space on its memory card.

Sixteen. Megs.

That translates to 44(ish) pictures at 1280 x 960 pixels each in standard quality, whatever that means. I could turn the size down to 600 by something pixels, but see, I don't want to.

I need a bigger memory card.

BUT AT ANY RATE!

I took this quite excellent picture of myself, wearing the totally sexy rainbow hat that Whymydiddle gave me for Holiday. THANK YOU!

Because nothing ever happens in my life.

Besides Eric going home and making life less confusing. Oh, and Chris hanging out hereabouts. And seeing Charlie the Unicorn.

I'm definently in the market for a "shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunn" avatar if anyone talented out there is up to it.

And now! The Memealige!! )

Well, that was fun.

I should write my own meme. The first question would clearly have to be "What book would you like to be killed with". Since this is one of the things me and Chris talked about.

Todays person of the day is both Momo, who is wonderful, and it's reeeeeeeeeeeeeally nice to have someone to Talk to ocassionally, and Eric, for being smart enough to point out that V's new icon is spelled wrong.

I got to play blind tag. Only Fish is unable to play. *tear*

And I got to hang out with Veronica and Fish and Chris. yeeeeeeeeeeeeah. That was, *coff* "fun".

And now I'm working on the social studies project. Yay?

Carp, I need to buy poptarts. Eventually.

And we should get many many people together for blind tag on Monday. I DECREE IT!

I really really like how the eye came out. I'm not too keen on the way my skullx came out either time though. Oh well, nice that it was twice.

Also: THIS was WAY too cool to pass up. Yay Google!!

Off to see the Advanced Drama plays now...tonight, at the school, at seven. Come see Emily and Veronica in starring roles!

Notes:

My concubines really shouldn't be spending time in the contract room. It reflects badly on me, like I don't bother to take care of you guys. Yes, i'm talking to you One. *pseudoglares*

Evning Circle songs make very good lullybyes. The problem is, I sing them and then I am forced into my memories, and I get sad. *sigh*

Koob is so awesome. He was very hyper and bouncy today, but then, I put him down in his bed and sang to him and he CRASHED. It was so cool.

I had a rather nice chat with Daniel yesterday. Neverminding the fact that Daniel is a healer-vampire spun out of my mind within the past week who sortof has a "thing" for Rin. Yet he still preferered chatting with me to chatting with her. Makes a girl feel loved.

My new avatar is a picture of me wearing 's nice hat. It is beautiful.

Oh and on my current mental status...

Kat has her concubine number 42. Jonny!!!!! has his Mykal. Sarah has her Michael. Llef has his Ellie. Jeremy has his Laurie.

And if you want to get REALLY broad with it, Mom has dad, Janny has Conrad, Crossroads has his boy, Tyler has Flame, Ednoria and Kugelblitz have each other, Chickenhat and Whymydiddle have each other (ok, technically all the people listed above have each other, I'm just listing the people I know.) ...

The list goes on and on. Dammit, I don't need a guy(/girl) in my life to be happy, I know that. But it's damm hard to be perfetly and utterly content when everyone else around you DOES have one.

I miss Taya.

Hell, forget that, I miss KAT! I've barely talked to her this week (damm you Mrs H for giving me that project) How is that possile. How is it at all possible to mss someone you've never met, never seen, barely even know what she looks like...(I could pick her out of a crowd...maybe. I'd be looking for the one wearing the hand drawn t-shirt, trenchcoat, and sunglasses.)

But yeah. I miss Taya. I miss the intense "want" feeling I got every time I saw her, I miss being able to hold her hand at evening circle, I miss laughing at her antics and wishing she felt the same way about me as i did for her...I just miss the kid.

a distracting interlude between Miss Katarina de MOOP! and an agent of the LAW! )

And I find I'm losing what little control I had over my charecters. Oh joy.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] katarina_tales is my new story-journal. I'm going to be moving stuff there over the next few days and the making it AWESOME.

All for now.

Oh yes, and I mean no disrespect to the injured, but the piccie ShutterGal posted a few days ago of Lee was just BEGGING to have the eye turned into an icon.

So I did. It is a rather beautiful shade of blue, isn't it. And look! When you crop it this much, the bruises dissapear.

I love you both, please don't hurt me!

Well...The avie contest over at Sluggy.net has ended. Both of the contestentes chose to draw me (*feels honored*)

Take a look at the pretty picture at the top of this post.

THANK YOU SWINGERZETTA!!!!!!!!!

If you go into the UserPics section, you'll see the pretty Normal me that Ruan drew, and the pretty Magical me the Swing drew. And you'll see the lovely Fangirl me that Skullx drew for me in a completely unrelated turn of events.

I like avies. Their pretty!

Please leave a comment with the three avatars that you think best represent me since my paid account will be running out soon. (to view all of them, click on my picture in my user info.)

I can't guarentee that those will be the three I pick, but if I find that a lot of people like my kobold avie (fer instance) I'm more likely to keep it.
