Tonight I went and saw GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS as hosted by the Slaughterhouse Sweeties. It was _extremely excellent_. There are gonna be spoilers in the rest of this post, but also honestly, it's a Godzilla movie. Exactly what you expect to happen does.

Here be monsters! )

So seriously, A+ movie watching experience, really wonderfully joyous audience, and a FUN monster experience. I'm definitely gonna have to go dig up some more Godzilla movies when I get a chance!

1: Not that I am in any way a Godzilla/kaiju expert2, but one of the themes I *really* like to see them explore is the fact that, to the Titans, we are essentially insects. We are far too small to make any impact on them, and while they could have us as pets, it's more of an aggregate "I have a bunch of ants in my farm" than a specific "the white cat is Mr. Foofums and the black one is Thirty Steps of Death"

2: This was probably my fourth ever kaiju movie...and one of the others4 was PacRim, so like...yeah.
((To be clear, Pacific Rim is awesome, but it's also American, and I am given to understand that we did not originate the genre and therefore I don't want to make blanket statements about it without having a better cultural grounding.))

3: I am a horrible movie-talker, he likes to take in things in utter silence. We've managed to make it work as regular movie-watching buddies, and this sort of thing is exactly the kind of compromise why --I'll stay silent during premieres of Star Wars, because I know how much that matters to him, and he'll snark back with me on the kaiju movie, because it's the right space for it.

4: I've seen at least one Gamora (possibly with Joel and the bots) and I definitely watched some episodes of the animated Godzilla and Godzooky show.

Bytheway, since I love my LJ friends far more than I love my Facebook friends:

Mad Max was the BEST EVER. I am planning to go see it again, but this time I'ma dress up with the proper post-apocalyptic dieselpunk aesthetic. Y'all should hella join me!

From the book of faces:

Mad Max: Fury Road is the finest action movie I have seen in my entire life. I can squee for hour about all the greatness, especially about the fact that it has multiple well-rounded female characters...to the extent where it barely passes the reverse bechdel test.

No, the movie is not perfect, but so far, it's the closest we've ever come to the platonic ideal of River Tam Beats Up Everyone. It is goddamn fucking delightful.

I'm gonna go see it again on Sunday, because *damn* but it's great. I'm gonna dress up in costume, because I'm a Big Fucking Nerd and the dieselpunk post-apocalyptic aesthetic makes my heart flutter. YOU SHOULD ALL JOIN ME IN THESE THINGS!

(Seriously, I found some silver non-toxic spray stuff for witnessing and everything.)

Somerville Theatre, 7:30 pm showing, Sunday May 31st. BE THERE, MY FRIENDS!

(And like, if you want to go, but can't afford to, let me know I will one hundred percent seriously start a scholarship fund for helping people see this movie.)

((This is the essay I've been meaning to post since Flurry --really, more of a narrative. UMYEAH. In the interest of not babbling like an idiot, I don't have any author's notes to preface it with. That's what footnotes are for.))

The Penultimate Waltz
(An essay detailing the happenings of my finest dance this weekend, and a short analysis of the three minute intimate experience.)

In the course of my dance weekend, I had a chance to discuss with a tango instructor the melancholic sensuality of dance. "A three minute deeply intimate experience" he described it, and, catching on to the poetry of the words, stored that thought into my head for later use.

The later use came earlier than expected, the next day, at the end of a contra set. Scouting the hall for someone to dance with, I saw a very vaguely familiar face with a button --"I give hugs".

"Hello, want to dance, and don't I recognize you from NEFFA?" We reintroduced ourselves and joined a set, and I crossed my fingers deep in the back of my mind and prayed, as I always do, that he would be a good partner, and this would be a good set.1

(In contra, the first is far more important than the second, and indeed, unless you are very lucky, there will almost certainly be those you find distasteful, or at best, merely uninteresting.)

So we begin to travel up the set. It is, in a word, exceptional. He is good and I am good and we are Good together.4

That was, unbeknownst to us, the last contra, and after the last contra always comes the Last Waltz. All around us, couples were forming. I waited a polite moment, then went ahead and asked him if he knew how to waltz.

I've danced with many waltzers, some good, some great, some exceptional. He was, perhaps, merely good, slightly on the inexperienced side5 but he had an excellent sense of rhythm and as we danced I found myself drawing steadily closer, to press more against him. He did not pull away -our chemistry palpable to us both.6

We ended, and he pulled me into a hug. (Or perhaps I pulled him, it matters not.) The dancers around us whooped and cheered the music, but we had a mutual reluctance to let go of one another. As I leaned close to him in our hug, I found courage to go ahead and ask -"Would it be impudent of me to ask to kiss you?"

(I am nothing if not terribly polite)

He answered in a positive manner, and our lips met, sweet and warm and wonderful. We pulled apart as the dance dispersed, a slight blush tinting both our cheeks.

"See you at NEFFA" I called as we trailed off in our separate directions, though I think, even if we did, the world will not be the same. But for that three minute intimate moment, nothing mattered but being there and dancing together.

The Last Waltz is meant to be the important one, the one you save, and Dance Flurry ended with one more set of contras and a truly last waltz. But for this festival, of all the dances I danced, that final festival waltz meant nothing compared to the dance (and the kiss) before it --the penultimate waltz.

((Postscript, written 8 May 2009:

I danced with him at NEFFA, but we didn't wind up kissing --I may have been slightly distracted at the time. (*coff*) I danced with him last night, being as he was my ride to Concord and whatnot. Ladies7 don't kiss and tell.

He remains probably the best contra dancer I've ever met though. Sorry all the rest of you, 'struth. I've ended a contra with him and been unable to think for a couple minutes --I think the only other person who's ever done that to me just through dancing is Magus, and his glorious waltzing.

...now, to get him into a skirt...>.>))

1: Holy run-on, Batman! This is one of the big problems with whenever I try to be prosey --I get a bit ridiculous2. Also, the line was originally "prayed to the true goddess of dance, for I am merely demi3" but that's perhaps just a bit obscure.

2: I am -well, ridiculously- proud that I have finally figured out how to spell this word.

3: Long ago, mek had heaps and heaps of assorted titles --four altogether, I think, although I can only remember three of them right now. (Ritzy the Anti-Strag, Fiend of Vile Falsehoods, and Crackers of the Pointy Tortilla Chips) At some point, I complained about the fact that I disdn't have any titles at all. Shortly thereafter, I received a letter addressed to "Sor, the Demi-Goddess of Dance". Whether or not I 'deserve' that title is an essay for later, but at the time, it made me incredibly happy.

4: 'k, I was gonna go verbatim from my notebook, but I'm not sure what the hell I was writing here. Yes, that's partially because I was in a car when I wrote this and so can't really read my handwriting. Just know that it was a really unbelievably amazing dance.

5: Sooo tempted to revise this, but it'd be a lie. He is a perfectly fine waltzer, but between Magus and Larry, I have been completely spoiled for merely "fine."

6: Dear Sor. Never write prose again. No, *seriously*. Love Kat.

7: I am not a lady. I am a gentleman, however.

Today is Wednesday.

Tonight is Wednesday night. My nefarious plans for tonight involve visiting [livejournal.com profile] jere7my and getting one last round of bad movies in before I go home for the summer.

Tomorrow is Thursday. I will spend the day doing things, at least one of which I hope to be studying for my Italian final. I will spend the night doing contra over at the Concord Scout House --come say goodbye!

The day after that is Friday. I have a final from ten to noon, and then will hopefully spend much of the rest of the day packing.

Saturday, no finals, more packing. Saturday afternoon and evening I am going over to the Belmhouse to babysit and hang out. Eventually I will detangle from there, go back on campus, and collect all members of the Lesley University Chaos Club who want to go see Rocky Horror.

Get home at late o clock, go sleep somewhere. Sunday morning, collect people to go get "breakfast" (ideally at noon or one) at Mr. Crepes. Steal Ria and/or Maddie on secret missions that I may or may not have alluded to last post.

After secret mission, study for maths. Pack more.

Monday, take maths final. Pack. Pack a lot. Pack like an *absolutely* crazy person, and as stressedly as I can possibly manage. Hopefully finish packing before it's time for dance.

Monday night, go dancing at Springstep for the last time for four months. Try not to think about it too hard, as it might make me cry. Dance with dance-Andrea, since I promised her a dance, dance with...other people. Get in a Last Waltz1 with Magus that'll have to last me most of a summer. Hopefully stop being such a gloomcookie all the time.

Tuesday morning, go to my Teacherfinal, which consists of "showing up". (Or, you know, have flu like symptoms and stay home in order to better achieve the rest of the day.) Say goodbye to Evan, and school-Andrea and Erin and whoever else is around. Go back to Dock 18, say goodbye to the roomies. Cry, because, well, it's *me*.

Give mom a hug and toss things into Catbus2. Stop by Belmhouse, thank them roughly a million times for letting me leave things there over the summer. Drive to Maryland.

Arrive in Maryland. Give Shan a noogie and Alys a hug. Curl up in my own bed, in my own room, with a door that closes. Try very very hard not to think about how long four months is, really.

Wednesday.

Visit Veronica. See if I still have a job. Be back in Maryland.

Sigh.

((And I mean there's good in there -Balticon, Tho, Origins, Day Camp, visiting mek, Otakon, Oella --not to mention all the Maryland people I love and adore. But seriously. Sigh.))

1: There's symbolism to the Last Waltz, youknow? No, not always or anything, but your traditional Last Waltz, you do it with your sweetie (well, one of them. We're ignoring the polydrama for the purposes of this). Out of all of dancing, that's the one that really matters --a good partner, and the world becomes Just Right.

I wonder who my final waltz was with at NEFFA last year. I know for this year, and while I had a last waltz at Dance Flurry, the role of the Last Waltz was filled by the Penultimate Waltz.

Andumyeah. Stuff. LOOK A DISTRACTION, BYE!

2: Mom's van. Galileo was the old one, and we haven't changed plates, but the minivan I do most of my driving in is called Catbus.

So, this weekend I went to NEFFA. YAY! I decided to go the entire time without Vera. YA...oh, wait, BOO!

But! Before going, I set up my phone to receive twitter messages, from mom and the people who were gonna be at NEFFA, and more importantly, set it up so I could update my twitter from anywhere I got phone service.

Tweets are in italics, and under the cut )

So yes. NEFFA this year felt largely more like a convention than a dance event, but I'm pretty okay with that. I spent several hours doing multiple kinds of dance --I got to do a bit of swing with a really talented lead --he led me through a couple jumps and dips, which was rad.

Volunteering went reasonably well, if dull. Dancing was not enough but quite good what there was. People were utterly amazing --I should really make a point of talking to SpringIsWrath more often, as he is wonderful, plus keeping up with Jesse (known also as Boy-I-Kissed-At-Flurry) and [livejournal.com profile] ncarraway.

Soyes! That was my weekend. More posting on more things eventually.

POSTSCRIPT: My twitter is here, if you want to actually follow it. Let me know offlist who you are, so I can follow you back!

1: I like boys in skirts, oh yes I do.

2: Tall. Painfully skinny. Long hair. I don't find everyone who fits this trope attractive, and there are certainly other tropes I go for hard (my height, something like twenty or thirty pounds more of curves than I have, dark hair, female -oh yum!) but both my dating track record and my eyecandy track record reeeeally like the gangly ones.

3: Pets, with the capital letter, are different from pets, without. The capital letter denotes ownership of some sort --it's very not my kink, but not to the level where I'd call it an antikink4 or anything. I find it a fascinating power dynamic, from both sides.

4: I feel that the most acceptable word for the opposite of a kink is a squick. But the word squick (and its original meaning)...well...squicks me, so I try not to use it. I'm working on finding a better word, expect post on this later.

Scheissentagzunfixen2009 continues to go well --I baleeted 85 percent or so of my tags with only one use, and I have ten months (out of 65) all tagged up. Yayy or something.

I am uncommonly antisocial right now, and have been for a substantial amount of time --at least since Tuesday, possibly since earlier. People = Donotwant.

***

Went to a Vienna Teng concert on Tuesday, which was beautiful and quite needed. Went ahead and bought two of her albums --the brand new one, "Inland Territory", and the second-most-new one, "Dreaming Through the Noise". (Her first two albums I own by..um...magic. Yeah. Magic1. >.>)

"In Another Life" and "Stray Italian Greyhound", both off Inland, were played during the concert and are *fabulous*. I've had "In Another Life" or "Whatever You Want" (Off Dreaming) stuck in my head pretty much all week. It's nice.

And a further essay concerning Vienna is coming, I just need to type it. Additionally, I may write an essay or something about objectification of artists.

***

Tonight, as a present for Maddiecakes birthday, the two of us wandered over to Harvard to listen to Joss Whedon talk, after recieving the highly esteemed and prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in Cultural Humanism. It was actually a pretty well put together speech, and definitely raised my largely indifferent2 opinion of Joss several notches.

Afterwards, there was signing, so I have a signed Dr. Horrible DVD. Alas, no personalization, due to the sheer volume of people, but still. Joss's autograph. And yes, mom, I told him you said thanks for putting you in the special features.

***

I have been writing like an absolute *fiend* lately. I know that I have a short story, the aforementioned Vienna essay, and most of the third part of my deep stuff night scrawled down, and I may very well have more that I'm forgetting about. One of these days, I really need to learn how to type. :P

***

By the way, in case I've forgotten to squee, in the past month or so, both Iowa and Vermont have made it okay for the gayfolk to marry each other. That makes FOUR STATES that my little sister can get married in. I am so happy about this.

***

Conor and I played about four rounds of Chrononauts the other night, and determined that we want to play/write/whatever a Time Travel rpg. I'm guessing GURPS might be the most valuable resource, but you lot are smart people. Suggestions?

***

I think that's it for now. I'm gonna go sleep.

1: Part of why there was no question when I got the oppertunity to actually pay money for some of her music. Oh, Vienna! She is very very good, and will get my money as I have it spare.

2: Oh, he's a good writer, no doubt about it. But about the only thing of his that I have raptures over is Dr. Horrible. I...may have a natural reluctance to fawn over the people that every geek ever worships.

So, for those of you that don't know, I took the weekend off from college, and headed down to New Haven to dance too much and hang out with people I wish I knew better. (like the livejournaless Susan dG and [livejournal.com profile] aetherexplorer)

I'm currently between last nights Elm City Waltz (which felt more like dancing at the Conservatory or Oella than anything else I've done outside of Maryland, save not knowing much of anyone there) and a cotillion of assorted German dances, that, among other things, apparently involves kazoos.

And a dance called Swallow Swallow.

Can I just say that I am pretty happy that I've somehow begun to become a part of the vintage dance community? This makes me a very happyKat. Of course, the flip side is I now need to learn how to sew so I can make costuming. Sigh.

(This has been the flip side for the last year or two. Eventually I will stop whining and get a sewing machine.)

Annnndyes. Raven and I are playing internet, so that's plenty distracting. Talk to you lot later.

Some thoughts:

*Working on a big resolutions from last year and for this year and lots of trustbabble post

*Phones and the way I use them is on my mind right now

*So, whenever I was last trawling the Comics Curmudgeon hardcore, which I think was back during the summer (possibly even *early* summer) I started reading this blog that got linked in there at some point. Today, I learned that the author is the dad of one of my friends from high school. Um...yeah. The world is small sometimes.

*I'm gonna start a commune

*I kinda want to do a "best of 2008" posts thing

*OHSHIT! My secret livejournal project that I was going to work on for 2009! I'll post that in a minute.

*Still need to figure out how I'm getting to and sleeping at the Dance Flurry in February

*Dancing is cool. I like what Larry said about being a historical dance group that doesn't particularly like historical music. This has led me to begin1 finding songs in my collection of generally modern stuff that are danceable. Most recent additions are a handful of Who Killed Amanda Palmer songs --"Runs in the Family" and "Ampersand" are waltzs (though the former is far too fast to actually dance to), "I Google You" is a blues, and "Guitar Hero" is a really good one-step.

*I like that spellcheck thinks danceable is a word.

*I should be entertaining to Swing somehow, but my brain is a little bit out of social, which is why I've been playing on the internet for some time anyways.

*My nails are longer right now then they've been just about ever. On the one hand, that makes 'em really good for scritching people. (From the New Year's Party-- "Kat, I love my wife, but you've made me realize her one big flaw --she doesn't have nails!") but on the other, I'm going slightly insane having them so long, and am going to bite them all short probably before I even make it back to Boston for Arisia.

And I'm sure there are more things on my mind, but I think I'm out for now. Byeee!

Hokay, so where did I leave off? The MS150? Yeah, I think so.

Anyways. I spent the weekend being a pirate and going "YARR!" a lot. Which was awesomely fun, though physically draining. Pretty much spent 15 solid hours in my bodice, which is...fun, but bad for me. I think I'm starting to outgrow it --I've been having more trouble with breathing and with wearing it for long periods of time, which sucks.

But yeah. The rest stop was way fun. All the bike riders absolutely loved us, and loved the various goodies we had out for them, especially the chocolate and sweadish fish. (MmmmmM!) And I will take just about any excuse to dress up like a pirate, especially if there're people to appreciate it around.

Sunday, I forwent the bodice and wore my t-shirt corset instead. Sometime soon, I will post pics, because that is an awesomely fun and easy craft.

After cheering on the people leaving for the Sunday riding, we hopped back into the car and drove all the way back from Salsbury (I slept most of the way) to home, to rush over to Illchester in order to get trained for day camp. I wound up spending copious amounts of time raking leaves and helping to better establish the archery section as awesome. PLUS, ohemgee, I'ma going to be working Archery with Blue! *squee!* I love that kid, she's really great.

(Don't be mentioning the fact that I dumped her. I can love people I break up with. :P)

AND, she gave me back my comics, so that was excellent.

Anywho, after setup and dinner and stuff, Wolf wound up getting a tricycle out of her truck that was built for a five year old or something. Of course, we all took turns riding it around the parking lots. Which ruled.

PLUS, Blue has a top hat! I just need to convince her to let me borrow it for a...project. *laughs evilly*

Annnnnnd yeah. That was the weekend. Ohyeah, and did I mention that I was the one who did the entire three hour drive to Salsbury? Yes, I do rule something fierce. We were caravaning with Jason and Korallean (sp?) and it was way fun, even if Galileo(Mum's van) isn't quite the dream to drive that Beast is.

Annnnnyways, that was this weekend. Today was the beginning of my Senior Week!

Now, normal people spend senior week getting drunk on the beach. Since me and Becky aren't especially into beaches full of drunk people, and have absolutely zero interest in getting drunk ourselves, we had to find other entertainment.

So we packed ourselves off to Washington DC to go visit museums (They're free!) and generally hang out. And it was AWESOME! Today we hit up the Air and Space Museum, the bits of the American History Museum that are in the Air and Space Museum, and the Natural History Museum. Which means that...

I GOT TO SEE KERMIT! *SQUEE!*

And dinosaur bones, and aeroplanes, and Appollo 11, and The Spirit of St. Louis, and loads of pretty shiny things, and a Stradivarius(sp?), and a scale model of the planets, and a giant red tomato-like spacecraft THING!

Soyeah. Smithsonian FTW. Pictures will get tossed up for everything, later. Just keep an eye on my flickr account, I suppose.

Annnnnnd I'm out. Tomorrow is a girl scout meeting, and then probably the Holocaust Museum. (Me and Becky are just a bucket of sunshine, aren't we?) Wednesday is hanging out at Becky's house and watching awesome movies (She has never seen Blues Brothers -for shame!) and then a job interview to see if I can become a TargetBitch. Thursday is more chillaxing with Becky and watching things.

And then I have a break, and will be able to relax and have time to myself.

*falls over laughing.* Yeah. Right.

Anyways, I ought to be cleaning my room, but I'm probably going to be hanging out here for a while instead. Take care of yourselves!

So, shtuff.

Just recently got back from the Coffeehouse. It was quite enjoyable -several very loud rocktype bands (With drummers...drool!) and whatnot. I love live rockymusic, it's *fun*.

Also got to preform my monologue of alliterative doom for the second time, in front of a bigger audience, and one less inclined to naturally like me. I preformed offmike, which was good of me, and apparently had forgotten that I *really* like acting. Sigh.

Alsoalso...I'm out. Nowait, I know! Look at what I made in school today!!

(((And you get some *strange* looks when you carry a dodecahedron twice as big as your head around school. It was fun!)))

Alsoalsoalso, I am getting Much better at braiding peoples hair. That there is a fourstrand braid I did on Becky. Is it not excellent?

Yeah, now I'm really out. More babblings later, I suppose.

Life has been fairly busy, but on the whole, non-exciting. Except for Pirate Feast. Pirate Feast ruled!! There was lots of good food, and music, and trinkets, and dancing. TOTALLY going back next year.

Stuff that's happened since my last update:
Monday...Snow day! Makes me happy!! I went sledding with V's clan, and the sibs, then we all went home. Me and V made Mac&Tuna. (And are now the high priestess's of Macaroni and Tuna-dom, as we won two new converts to the cause -our sisters) Afterwards, we kicked the boys off the TV and us four girls played Halo. Lots of Tanky goodness on...that one level. Where Red Vs Blue takes place. Yeah, that one. Then the sisters bailed, and me and Veronica went and played the city level. I'm highly pleased with myself, I managed to get the soda machine all the way out of the building, and dropped it over the side so it landed in the main middely area. Go me!

...Yes, I'm not a very serious Halo player. Shut up. I speant a large amount of that game throwing things off the walkways overlooking the central area. It's fun!

Tuesday...School. Blek. Kung-fu...less blek, besides doing the Thirty Steps of Death, which is somewhere between Blek and cool. Mostly just ow.

And Kenny is highly cool. I like him. Even if he disposed of his dreads...*tear*

Wednesday...School (Blek) GSA, got chewed out for not showing up to the last few meetings, got deeply frustrated with Tyler and somehow managed to keep from going bitch on her. I'm sorry, but I missed last week because I was activly trying to keep someone from being sad, and yes, I might have missed some meetings because of my own stupid frivolous reasons (I wanted to go home) but in all truth we're not doing anything Aiii! Grr.

And I...No. Stop. *falls silent*

Isn't it nice to know that the screeners in my brain ocassionally work?

Thursday: Aiiiii! day. School (blek), then straight to Therepy-types, where I got in an argument with Miss Debbie about clothes and modesty and showing off my body and stuff like that. She was having difficulty grasping that I don't dress the way I do because I don't like showing off my body (although I do prefer not being oogled). I dress the way I do because I'm sickingingly practical, and having as many pockets as possible is a wonderful thing. Plus, it's more comfertable, and it's nicer to *not* have to worry about leaning forward and showing whoever your talking to a bit more then you intended.

And, MY number one reason for why I don't wear low-cut shirts...I'm short. This means that most people are taller then me, and therefore have to look down to talk to me. Looking down my shirt = bad.

After therepy, straight to UMCP to work concessions at the basketball game in order to gain LondonMonies. Yay for that. It was...interesting. Pretty much a straight jam of people for two hours, and some crazy stress, what with running out of things. I was lucky, I didn't have to deal with any idiots. And afterwards, I got food. Yay that!

Friday: School, home...something. Oh yeah! 'twasn't home, instead, after school on Friday I got to go to Chipoltle with Beth (<3!!), Anne, Jenna, and Chris who is a band kid. That was way fun, and next time I need to remember to bring money/scrip instead of just stealing food from everybody. Afterwards, we went and explored the golf store, and me, Anne, and Beth watched the figure skating boys, and argued about which ones were cute, and which ones were gay.

Then the three of us cool peoples walked home, and did our homework. And played MASH. There was lots of MASH throughout, and poor poor Jenna. *grin*

Babysitting was relitivly normal, then chats, and discussing old embaressing pictures, and discussing weather you prefer to be tied up or do the tying. Clearly that should be a poll.

...I need a paid account again.

Yesterday...quiet, went over to Luna's and played Munchkin and watched this awesome movie called Wasabi. It was in French, but we had subs, so it was all good. And the main actressy girl is ohmygod hot. I had to keep forcfully distracting myself from the TV before I started drooling. Rohan kindly informed me my lesbianness was showing.

Then me and mom went and kidnapped Josh, and the three of us plus Aly got all dolled up and went to PIRATE FEAST! Yes!!

Pirate Feast was far too much fun. Only downside was that there were a few too many people who were a bit too drunk (I had one guy say I was cute and that he had a fetish for my glasses...I politely disentangled myself from THAT conversation, needless to say.) But there was DANCING! And Ahmigawds, I've missed dancing. So that was very happy.

And I learned that the vegan potato soup tasted very good with ham in it. Nicely ironic, too, which is always a tasty thing.

And DUDE! I got to see Amanda(Crazy friend of Bernies, fellow DnDer, and birthday-buddy) there, and she was wearing a loverly corset and looked really awesome.

And then we went home and zzzzzz.

So thats my life. How are you?

Wow. Just...wow.

Chris...You TOTALLY win the favorite person of the day award. Eric won yesterdays for sqeeling like a proper shed boy, but subsequently got it taken away for giving me bad thoughts! So thats todays update on favorite peoples.

And....ummm...

DRAMA FIELD TRIP!

So that was fun. I did make-up, which was cool, and Comedy, which was FABULOUS! And I got to hang out wiht the beautiful Leigh. So YAY to that!!

And I also got to watch an ideal-type pretty boy who already looked pretty damn androgynous at the beginning get turned into a girl.

Is it bad that I seem to be minorly obsessed with the idea of drag? Nah, probably not.

And that is all.

Oy. It's been a long week.

Saterday was homecoming. Yay. The parade and fair were moderate amounts of fun, the game was nonattended and the dance was not exceptionally fun, therefore I will do something better with my time next year. Like Sluggween.

Homecoming sucked because there were parties happening at both the Sluggyverse and Bernie and Joe's and I couldn't go to either.

The only good thing is that I now have a lovely vase of flowers sitting on my filing cabnaint. Jeremy was being unsufferably well brought up, he brought flowers for anyone who wanted some at the homecoming dance. And he was wearing PURPLE! And he swing danced with me a little! Squee! I love my soulbrother, even if KT hates his guts with a screaming passion that devours all thought.

Yeah. Moral of that paragraph is that swing dancing with her (even though she sucks at it), giving her flowers, and wearing purple are all good ways to make Kat happy with you. Especially the dancing and the flowers bit.

Sunday was Halloween. You know, in case you missed this fact somehow. My Halloween was going fine until my dear sweet friend Veronica, who was going to be the Charolette to my Vendetta (www.makingfiends.com) called me up and said "Kat, I can't be Charolette." Since I can't be Vendetta all by my lonesome, I had to come up with a new costume.

In any other circumstances, this would have been easy and fairly stress free. As it was however, it was 5, we were going out trick or treating at 6, and I had a pumpkin to carve.

Let the panic ensue.

I didn't get to carve my pumpkin, but I DID get to create the most kick-butt costume I've ever had the honor to create myself. I was a tree nymph. And I looked hot. (Not that I don't normally look hot, I just looked EXTRA hot in my costume.)

I will post piccies once I have them. And I will be taking the costume with me to Origins and wearing it there.

Why whats this I hear? "Kat, I thought you weren't sure if you were going to Origins!" Well...I've made my decision. Wyo is a wonderful place, and I love it muchly. HOWEVER. I do not fit in there. I fit in well with all of two people, one is a delightful one, full of wrong stories, and H*R goodness, and the other is a beauteous artist, with chickpea piolets and mangas. I fully intend to stay in touch with them until the end of time. The problem is, I don't fit in that well with the rest of Wyo, and the tree-y goodness cannot compare with the ever pulling lure of 4 days of being among gamers, who I adore. Add in Day Camp (and Leah and Kawa), The Fact That Veronica would KILL me, acess to Kat, etc, etc, etc, and Wyo pales in comparison.

I will miss you muchly though Mell.

I think thats all for now.

Oh yeah! It's....NANOWRIMO TIME!!!!! *dances*

So far I have a whopping 1300~ words. Must get writing!!

(((Oh yes...More webcomicy goodness has entered my world. I just finished the archives of Waspi Square, I finished reading The Call of Whatever about 5 days before it ended, and I'm currently reading Queen of Wands instead of writing.
