So, here's what my life has been the last n weeks.

*I graduated. This was apparently a big deal or something.

*I took, and as of two days ago, passed my MTELs. Now I can get my teacher's license and get a job or something.

*I am currently in Atlanta. Two days of rest and relaxation with Sparr and the various folks around his living space, and then he and I go up to Columbus, OH on Wednesday for Origins.

*I helped my family move from Columbia MD to Park Ridge (just north of Chicago) IL. This involved driving for about six hours on Tuesday (mom drove the other half.)

*I drove my little sister to and from her college orientation at Hiram college. This involved driving for about six hours on Thursday and Saturday. No mom to help. On the plus side, I own a lot of music, and some of it she likes.

*I spent last weekend in Layfayette Georgia in order to go to my very first burn. Burns are hippie festivals; Burning Man is the best-known example. It was really quite fun, and I enjoyed running around the woods surrounded by hippies, and watching various people perform various arts, and learning things, and posing for photographs and jumping on the trampoline and etc. Also, there was fire, and it was fantastic. Alsoalso, I got to see in passing Amber, who is bright and sunny and really likes me and seems to want me to move to Atlanta almost as badly as Sparr does. She makes me smile a lot.

*I might make a real post about that one.

*Oh, also I went to Balticon a couple weeks ago. I slept in a car, and hung out with old friends and new friends, and again played less werewolf than usual, and broke my JungleSpeed totem (okay, technically Braffy broke it...) and wound up giving kisses to a gorgeous woman with fantastic pink hair, and flirted with the pervy artist, and in general it was all quite good. And like last year, it was a completely significant-other-free con. Which is a little strange, but mostly very freeing --the first time I went to Balticon, I went without my partner, and I kinda really like not being responsible for anyone else's happiness at the con. Not that I don't love being with my partners at cons, you understand --I do love it, very much-- but once a year...I'll gladly take the vacation from feeling responsible for other people's happiness. Because I am responsible, some, no matter how hard I try not to be. At least for my boys.

*Alys graduated high school. Go her!

*This is the first 750words entry I've made in twelve days, and the third this month. Please whine at me to do this. I won't be able to during Origins, but I should at least get my act together the week after, and once I'm back in Boston.

*Looking to get back in Boston somewhere around the fourth. Hoping to spend a night in NYC with...someone. Need to talk to relevant someones and see who has a couch and wants me to sleep on it. (I mean, I also have friends in the city who have couches that I can sleep on, but if I have people who actively want me as houseguest, I'll strive for that first.)

*Week after Origins is Girl Scout Day Camp. This might be my last year, but if you volunteer as an adult for five years, you get a pretty volunteer pin. And next year would be year five. So yeah, MD peeps, I might be looking for crash-space a random week in July or June 2012.

*I dodged the sunburn from camping in the middle of fuckyou Georgia all weekend (I hate the weather here, does it show), but the trade off is that I think I might have some poison ivy on my arm, and I certainly have bugbites everywhere. Still, that doesn't cause cancer, so I'm okay with this. I did my best to keep Sparr and Sarena sunscreened (two of my three campmates --Joe is a redhead and so did a very good job of keeping his pasty self covered) too, and I think it mostly worked.

*Made foodstuff with Sparr earlier --potatos and eggs such to put into breakfast burritos. Was good! Also, I made the mistake of asking Bethany how many people I should cook for (since she is the normal cook hereabouts) and she answered "sixteen".

I did not cook for sixteen people, because Christ, how would I?

That's all for now.

MOOP!

(Okay, so, for a very long time now, I've known that MOOP is a burner term meaning Matter Out Of Place --probably learned it less than two years after I coined the term as my own personal word. Holy shit though, people actually use it, like all the time. It's how the burner community refers to trash, or to the action of leaving trash "Yeah, I was MOOPing all over the place last night, I should clean up" or "Jeeze, who left all this MOOP at our campsite."

The weekend was _so weird_ for that alone.)

Four years ago today, it was 2005. And some shit went down in a chatroom.

The long story short was that my planet, MOOP! (which was then far more tied in to my emotional stability than it is now) got half melted. This is largely because Mallory Alis had returned to my brain, and got into a fight with someone stronger than her. Basic effects were just somewhat of a loss of stability for a bit, not aided by the loss of the internet that came to me six days later. These conditions -broken, able to get on the computer but not the web, and with a brand new guardian to try and protect me- were what got me to start the original BehindtheWalls file --more about that on the sixth.

The real lasting effect was that Alis had returned, as it were, in the incarnation she remains now. Also, it puts Gabriel's age at more than four years, since he was definitely around before she showed up.

For those of you going "um, who?" Alis and Gabriel are two of the three denizens who live in my head and talk to me. If you're familiar with the idea of multiples, it's a little like that (though I refuse to give up control), but basically, they are the voices in my head that keep me sane and safe. Hyde, the third denizen, is the voice in my head that tells me to kill, but can you really expect better from a serial killer?

The denizens are pretty cool folk, and interestingly enough, they have been wicked active lately, for no reason I can really suss out. Usually it takes me hanging out with other people with named voices for them to come out and play, lately, they've been talking to me much more often, and wanting to talk to and interact with the rest of the world as well.

As with most things about myself, I am just fine with answering any and all questions about the three of 'em. Butyes. I like my denizens, and am happy they're around.

Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Stuff:
*It's been a week or something from my last real update. Oops.
*MOOP! is currently in a state of half melted disarray.
*Anyone want to help me capture an evil, EVIL basterd? His name is Malice, and he is going to die. Very very soon.
*It's hell week. Yep.
*Tyler broke herself again.
*I am going to spend as much as this afternoon as possible playing The Sims/Heros of Might and Magic three. (Last day of Winter-een-Mas, doncha know!!)
*I'm supposed to be doing research. Ah well, it's not hard or nuthin.

K_T stuff:
*I haven't written anything in a while
*I've been drawing a lot. Like, real drawings and stuff. They look really really good.

I would also like to point out that gossip is stupid, pointless, annoying and really dumb. As someone who has witnessed first hand what gossip can do, I know how things can snowball.

Notes:

My concubines really shouldn't be spending time in the contract room. It reflects badly on me, like I don't bother to take care of you guys. Yes, i'm talking to you One. *pseudoglares*

Evning Circle songs make very good lullybyes. The problem is, I sing them and then I am forced into my memories, and I get sad. *sigh*

Koob is so awesome. He was very hyper and bouncy today, but then, I put him down in his bed and sang to him and he CRASHED. It was so cool.

I had a rather nice chat with Daniel yesterday. Neverminding the fact that Daniel is a healer-vampire spun out of my mind within the past week who sortof has a "thing" for Rin. Yet he still preferered chatting with me to chatting with her. Makes a girl feel loved.

My new avatar is a picture of me wearing 's nice hat. It is beautiful.

Oh and on my current mental status...

Kat has her concubine number 42. Jonny!!!!! has his Mykal. Sarah has her Michael. Llef has his Ellie. Jeremy has his Laurie.

And if you want to get REALLY broad with it, Mom has dad, Janny has Conrad, Crossroads has his boy, Tyler has Flame, Ednoria and Kugelblitz have each other, Chickenhat and Whymydiddle have each other (ok, technically all the people listed above have each other, I'm just listing the people I know.) ...

The list goes on and on. Dammit, I don't need a guy(/girl) in my life to be happy, I know that. But it's damm hard to be perfetly and utterly content when everyone else around you DOES have one.

I miss Taya.

Hell, forget that, I miss KAT! I've barely talked to her this week (damm you Mrs H for giving me that project) How is that possile. How is it at all possible to mss someone you've never met, never seen, barely even know what she looks like...(I could pick her out of a crowd...maybe. I'd be looking for the one wearing the hand drawn t-shirt, trenchcoat, and sunglasses.)

But yeah. I miss Taya. I miss the intense "want" feeling I got every time I saw her, I miss being able to hold her hand at evening circle, I miss laughing at her antics and wishing she felt the same way about me as i did for her...I just miss the kid.

a distracting interlude between Miss Katarina de MOOP! and an agent of the LAW! )

And I find I'm losing what little control I had over my charecters. Oh joy.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] katarina_tales is my new story-journal. I'm going to be moving stuff there over the next few days and the making it AWESOME.

All for now.

Copious amounts of notetaking at last nights girl scout meeting. Loads of 'em. I love it though, the only part about it I'm not particularily into is the whole typing them up afterwards, but I'll get there.

In other news, we are going to seriously try to make enough moolah to get to London in 2k6. It's about 1500 a person, and we have 3 girls and 3 adults so...

Additionally, if you have any ideas of fun things to do in London or the close surrounding area, or better yet, any GRAND ideas for fund-raising things and you're willing to share them, that'd be awesome. Keep in mind that there are only three of us though...

In other news, I saw Princess Diaries 2 last night. It was fairly good for a chick-flick, and I didn't need too much explaining of who everyone was (I never saw the first) the music didn't leap out at me as being exceptional, but V and KT seemed to like it, so it must have been at least a little good.

Conversation about Prince William:
Me: So, Is it just me or is Prince William not really that cute.

Veronica: He's not. It's just that he's a Prince! What girl wouldn't want to be a princess?

It'd be interesting, but I think I'd be the worst princess ever. )

An explanation of MOOP!:

MOOP! is, primarily and originally, a planet on the smallish side with the capability to support intelligent life. It was formed on Sluggy.net during a thread of "What is your perfect planet like." MOOP! wound up being a place of great bounty, and lot's of bishies. Lots and LOTS of bishies.

Since then, MOOP! has become more intelligent, and has begun to have more average people living there. It is welcome to all who are deemed intelligent. To be deemed intelligent one does not have to have any great brainpower, but must have the ability to tell basic right from basic wrong, have a fairly decent sense of morality, and have commen sense.

MOOP! is not just a planet however, it has more recently become a symbol of all that is right with this planet (not a lot) rolled into one quick thing. It is also what I like to consider "my" word, and I get rather picky when other people use it, especially if they don't do it with my permission or, even worse, spell it wrong. MOOP! is always spelled in all caps, with an exclamation point. To leave off the exclamation point is like leaving out a letter, and putting it in lowercase is as wrong as putting an average word, like fish or boot, in all caps.

It's rather complicated. I think I ought to write up a complete history of it.

Heh, boot. Thats a good sounding word.

Purple!

Anyway, I'm just hanging out doing absolutly nothing when I decided "hey, lets update my LJ"

And since I need to anyway, I think I will provide the "crucial" information on homework and MOOP!.

Keep in mind that this is only a rough copy. Progects are completely exempt from this.

This is one of the reasons I have created MOOP! a society that is slowly forming in the dark corners of my mind, in order to be an improvement on this world. And yes, it is spelled with all capitals. There’s a reason for that, I just haven’t figured it out yet. MOOP! is a highly advanced civilization on a distant planet, who’s best proof of intelligent life is that they haven’t tried to contact us yet. Mostly because we have a highly inept way of doing things here on planet Earth. MOOP! holds time as an almost sacred concept, and any waste of it is frowned upon. They have limits on homework, to 10x minutes a night, where x is the grade level from 1st to 8th grade, and up to 30 minutes per class period
from 9th to 12th grade. Since all the schools are on a block period, with two semesters of four periods each per year, this means that the maximum amount of homework a non collage student can have is 2 hours, or 120 minutes, a night. In collage, it’s every man (or woman) for themselves. Some professers can be very sadistic in this aspect.

There ya go.
