Because I think actually asking this to the person I have in mind might get me in trouble, do you or do you not approve of me calling you my cuddlebitch. And no, Eric, you don't get a choice. *evilgrin*

***

I am way too frigging pragmatic for my own good. "Meh, whatever" =/= proper response to...certain...situations. Fucking crypticness. Also, did I say this already? Goddamnit, this is why I originally only wrote in BehindtheWalls when I was off livejournal! I didn't have to worry about remembering what I had and hadn't posted. :P

***

Keira is apparently an older sister, bringing my total up to three. (Keira, WyoMell, and Zaphod Groupie) I'm not entierly sure what the criteria is, but it appears to be something along the lines of "female, awesomer then me, and older then me by no more then fiveish years.

I have a handful of older brothers too, but mostly the criteria there is "I can steal their clothes". There's some additional complications involving flirtation levels and rassling with them (reminds me, it's been forever since me and Josh have gone at it. Le sigh.)

(Take that as you will. I only say this because my mind is all sorts of hella dirty. :D)

***

I have the cutest origami paper ever. It is designed to look like a little bookshelf with books (with the paper being the pages of the books) The whole thing is decorated with little Japanese chibi animals. Eeeee, cute! Photos may very well show up later.

***

Origami is a suprisingly fast way to mellow me out. Primarily, I think it's the fact that, when folding cranes, I can't be doing much else, which means that if I'm alone and folding cranes, I'm not doing anything else but thinking. In addition, it's a repetitive, relaxing thing to do with my hands that *doesn't* involve playing with chains.

That, and there's something *damn* satisfying about turning a piece of paper into a mini sculpture. Especially since I'm still good at making incredibly tiny cranes.

***

Fuck later. You get hella cute pictures of my new origami paper thing NOW! )

In other news, have I mentioned lately that I love having a camera attached to my computer? No longer do I have to go dig up my camera and connect the cord and things if I want to show something neat off to someone! Simply hold up, clicky button, post to flickr, ???, PROFIT!

...Erm. Encyclopedia Dramatica ate my brain?

***

Dude, Another Fine Myth. Comic book. Is there any wrong?

(Besides the forty dollar price tag. WHY MUST MY HOBBIES BE EXPENSIVE?)

My Schedule

sorcyress: Drawing of me as a pirate, standing in front of the Boston Citgo sign (Default)
I'm not as cool as Tho, so it's not all charty and colourful. But it is a schedule, with times and everything.

So. Schedule! )

I also did a nice wander down to the bookstore (to find out how much poorer I'm about to become) with Madeline, who is the only person I kept any kind of contact with from orientation to now. She is quite nice. While there, we met up with a pair of twins (Lauren and Emily) and the four of us wandered into this little Japanese stuff shop. Which sells origami paper.

See above notes about being poor. *sigh*

And I mean, I brought a WHOLE FRIGGING BOX of origami paper. I have PLENTY! But still. More!

Yeah, that's life. Oh, I lucked out on the class thing --class is supposed to start on Wednesday, at 1. Because all my classes end before noon, I have the day off. Woo! So I might go visiting people then or something.

Annnnnnnnd yeah. Sorry I've been posting so much --I just don't quite have the hang of this whole "making new friends and doing stuff with them" thing.

Hokay. So. I was at Balticon this weekend.

The really really REALLY quick conreport?

1) Fun fact: Number of hours Sorcy spent sleeping from Thursday to leaving the con on Monday: 10.5

2) Fun fact: Number of hours Sorcy spent playing Are You A Werewulf during the con: 12

3) [livejournal.com profile] lonebear, I was given a present by [livejournal.com profile] marcmagus to pass on to you. When are you coming over next, and are you bringing your most excellent geetars?

4) I've been promised a ride and a badge in exchange for working tech at Philcon. Yay for making friends with TD's. :D

5) I have a new Boston mommy named Persis (spelling?), who I will add to my flist once I stop being lazy.

6) Scritchies good.

7) If you have two esclators with the railings travelling in opposite directions, right next to each other, you can pull off some pretty cool OkGo style stunts.

8) If you've never seen the OkGo video with the treadmills, you NEED to click on the above link. It is *awesome* (Magus, I think I'm directing that at you --were you the one who said you hadn't seen it?)

9) The invention of the con suite was one of the greater inventions ever.

10) I apparently make a pretty good werewulf, seeing as I won both times it happened. Being a seer is just really REALLY bad for me though...

11) Never ever ever EVER ask who the Seer is.

12) JungleSpeed is a truly awesome game. It is a combination of Egyptian Ratscrew and Blink, and I think that Veronica may be the only person I know who knows both of those games.

13) Hand rolls(?) of sushi are awesome. They are a cone of seaweed with sushi inside. It's a sushi ice cream cone, and possibly the second greatest thing I got to eat during the con.

14) Baguette + cream cheese + really really squishy good smoked salmon = amazing. Thank you Persis.

15) Origami dodecahedrons make AWESOME conversation starters. Also, NTS: Make more segments with my e-mail address on them to pass out to all the people who ask how they're made.

16) Werewulfs that DON'T lynch the seer are morons. Really truly, people.

17) Favourite phrase this weekend: "I'd love to buy that, but I'm currently as broke as a Windows machine." (Me)

18) Moooooooon, I bought you a trinket! It is small, but I think you will very much love it.

19) Parents who are fannish, and have friends who are fannish and have watched you grow up rules, mostly because I have a steady flow of people to adore me and make sure I've hit such basics as "eating" and "drinking more water"

20) I, of course, don't have a voice.

21) Jannyblue continues to be just about as awesome as can be, including giving me a box of random awesome trinkets, INCLUDING about two dozen of the little origami dragons she folds so I can learn how. Incidentally, Janny, mum says hi to you, and after learning that you were connected to Rob, says hi to him too. (She's in love with his parody of Skullcrusher Mountain)

22) And for the record, mum says hi to Magus too, who is also awesome, and has an "Orc and Pie" shirt, damn him.

23) I get to GRADUATE today! Oh JOY!! [/sarcasm]

24)
Never before have I found a comic in the dailies that fit me so perfectly. And the fact that it's today, on graduation day...beautiful.

25) I will post a proper con report soon, what with chronological order and squeeings and the like. As for now, I am going to go work on the current Neopets plot some more. They have given me a puzzle. I must solve it.

So, shtuff.

Just recently got back from the Coffeehouse. It was quite enjoyable -several very loud rocktype bands (With drummers...drool!) and whatnot. I love live rockymusic, it's *fun*.

Also got to preform my monologue of alliterative doom for the second time, in front of a bigger audience, and one less inclined to naturally like me. I preformed offmike, which was good of me, and apparently had forgotten that I *really* like acting. Sigh.

Alsoalso...I'm out. Nowait, I know! Look at what I made in school today!!

(((And you get some *strange* looks when you carry a dodecahedron twice as big as your head around school. It was fun!)))

Alsoalsoalso, I am getting Much better at braiding peoples hair. That there is a fourstrand braid I did on Becky. Is it not excellent?

Yeah, now I'm really out. More babblings later, I suppose.

Michelle has a birthday today! Yay!!

Other stuff:

Z'omygods, TMBG. Still too bouncy to write a write-up.

Rivendell: GYAH! I am FOUR TENTHS of a mile from the first shield (25 miles) I am SO DAMN CLOSE!!! *grumbles*

Origami: I have learned how to make origami lilies, and they are BEAUTIFUL! (I made on for Blue for prom out of the scented paper) I loves them.

Secret project is going very very slowly. I'm running behind, probably.

Hesiman: Apparently the opening night miracle did, in fact, occur, and it went loverly. Except Becky's spot which, like all the lights in the freaking theatre, suck.

TMBG: Z'ohmygods, lustwantneedamazing.

Rocky Horror: I'm going again on Saturday-next (the sixth) It will be rocksome!!

Kat, send me info on this Rocky Horrarr Pirate Show thing. I need anything you can get. MUAHAHA!

School: I'm not really doing my AdComp work. *sigh* I'll go get there now. See ya cats and kittens later!!

Making precise folds in a piece of godsbedammed foil paper thats not even as big as my thumbnail is a Pain in the ASS!

Also, Cockeyed.com totally deserves to have all my time. Because it really does.

Sor has no life. Although she got to sit on Xan and AJ today! That was fun, I like those two.

And I'm sleeping over at V's tonight. Whoot, girl-time! Since we never seem to get enough of it, and then we do and we get all snappish at each other.

I think thats all. Back to impossibly small* origami now.

I figure that, after badgering you lot for info on how you move and smell and whatnot, I should probably return the favour, and babble about myself.

A lot of you mentioned that you have to be active, or are always fidgiting. I get that -it's easier to focus if I'm doing SOMETHING with my hands. The best things for me to do are origami, knitting, or making those silly little friendship bracelets that used to be so big. Doodling works as a focus, but it's too easy to swap from that to full drawing, at which point you've lost me.

I can hold reasonable conversations while knitting or making cranes. Neither one takes any active thought, they've become patterns, same as walking. Which is how I can do things like walk around the mall, while knitting my scarf, while talking to Flinx. That's good stuff.

Oddly, if I'm making anything out of origami other then a crane, I have to be paying attention to it or it won't work. Cranes are the default for origami, you give me a square of paper and that's what I'll fold nine times out of ten. And it helps that cranes are the most portable and squashable (do not, for instance, squash a star-box...they won't look as good)

***

Has anyone else had the problem where someone's told them out of the blue that they like something you do, and therefore you have a sudden pressure to not mess up on doing that thing anymore? Like if someone told you you had a good walk, and then you're unsure how to walk because you think too hard about it?

Yeeeeeeeah. Thanks Swing. High praise indeed, but now, I must be brilliant! AIIIIG!!

...Back to cranes.

Postscript: Jaimee, I have a dozen or so cranes for you. Including some floresent ones. Which rocks.

1) To get mum to send Katters her presents.
2) To do better in school (not hard...:p)
3) To figure out how to properly adore Veronica, and do so
3) To look into this idea of jobs and find out if there IS such a job that will let a crazy chica who can't work Friday nights and doesn't yet know how to drive work for them.
4) Speaking of which, learning to drive would be good. A lisence would be...good.
5) To go to LONDON!
6) ...*writes down in her own private file* Sorry. Not for you to know.*
7) To make it to Kung Fu at least once a week. And on more Thursdays.
8) ...Fine. To try and sort my mind out some. Yeah. maybe.

And Goals:
1) To watch the other two episodes of Season One of Black Books. And seasons two and three when they arrive. Oh yes, Tho- I'm afraid I can't be your slavy...Series one is coming out in Region One in...10 days? I think. And mum's ordering the other two from AmazonUK anyways, so it's all good.
2) To actually keep up with this whole idea of an abbriviated friends list. Yepyep!
3) I'd like to try that 1K cranes again.
4) LONDON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that is all.

~Sor

*Scarily enough, this one is best summed up by a Black Books quote. Yeeeeeeeeeeeah.**
**And thats just to remind me, since I'm far to lazy to actualyl write it down.

Recap:

Friday: Went alright, and then I got to babystitting. Oh my. Diane pointed out that DC (Dear Childe) was borderline sick, so if he fell asleep earlier or whatnot I shouldn't worry.

He was asleep when we got home. So, we put him to bed and Diane told me that if he woke up screaming or anything, and seemed to need his Mom (as opposed to this crazy pseudo-mom) to just call her since she was right next door. I was perfectly fine just watching him peacefully. Then he woke up. *headdesks*

I did wind up getting Diane, and she determnined that he prolly had a nightmare or somesuch, since he wasn't feeling as hot/feverish as he was when we put him to bed (hardly any temperature by that point) We wound up chatting for a bit, with Koob just snuggled up against Diane and it was rather nice. I like talking to people.

After she left, DC was his usual bundle of energy, I finally put him to bed 9:30ish and sang to him, and finally got online again around 10:15ish. And that was after just leaving him be since he didn't seem to have any interest in GOING TO SLEEP! Yipes!

Saterday: Aly's friend Natalie wound up coming over, which was cool(ish) I let them play the Sims on my computer while I played with Veronica and Nik and Dan. It was pretty fun. Natalie stayed the night, and I just generally hung out.

Sunday: Pretty good. I went to Jimmy-Grey (My youngest cousin on my moms side)'s B-day party, where mostly I hung out with mom and aunt sara, choosing to avoid the hordes of small children being obsessive about video games. Me and Nik then went over to Jernie and Boe's to play Halo and watch the transformers movie...we didn't finish it, which was a shame. Played a lot of Halo though.

I really really really really suck at Halo. Although, I achieved a new personal record: I killed someone all by myself! Twice even! It made me very happy. I also killed Andy since he was being a sweetheart and standing still so I could just shoot him a lot.

Transformers movie was very amusing. Gotta love the crazy things. I love the fact that the chickbot wears lipstick. Because, you know, she needs it.

Monday: Worked on some girl scouts stuff, and then went to the leader meeting. Which was cool, if a little long. I wound up inviting myself/getting invited to a younger girl troop via thursday to help them learn origami for thinking day.

Tuseday: Couldn't make up it's mind about weather it was a good day or a bad day. Felt incredibly fragile for no real reason in gymnastics and was ready to just start crying at the littlest things. Very annoying, especially since I had to forcefully refocus myself several times. I figured out what I was doing wrong via back handsprings though, so that was good. Maybe I'll be doing them by myself before the year is out.

Today: Was rather nice. Did the whole school thing until English, where I did the whole hang out with Becky and work on review thing. She had the complete HGttG with her and I had raptures over it all period. I didn't steal it though, which was good of me.

She said she got it at the mall, for only 16 dollars or somesuch. If I can find a compy for under 20$, I'm quite definently buying it for myself, so I have my own copy to deface highlight all the good quotes in.

It started snowing today about Englishtime. Someone looked out the window and pointed it out and adjuisted the blinds so everyone could see and it was exciting. Everyone was cheering and whatnot (not real loud or anything) and enjoying the fact that we have snow. *looks outside* It's still going right now, I reckon we have two, or maybe even three inches so far.

I like snow.

I walked home in it, which was nice, although a tad on the cold side (must remember to bring gloves tomorrow...) and Jeff offered me a ride, which is different. I declined, partly since I was enjoying the snow, partly because I was pretty close to home at that point anyway, and partly because his car skidded rather nicely as he pulled up to the curb next to me. No interest in getting into a car accident thanks. I've done that (albeit several years ago.)

Jaimee invited me to CoE again, which I hope to go to, although it occers to me that I should prolly hang out here and study and clean my room, and knock off things on my todo and whatnot. Sigh.

All for now.

EDIT: Since then, I've shovled the walk which isn't fun, found out that CoE is practiced, which works with my plans, and chatted with Kat, which is very fun.

Post 10 Facts about yourself in your journal. Then post this sentence and see how many people do the same

Lesse...

1) I much prefer to make up my own curse words then use the standerd set. Baring my own, I like to use ones I've picked up out of books. Thats why I ocassionally say sheka, d'arvit or flarg when I'm pissed off. Also why I use Yaak as a curse word. Blame Eric for that one. (no not you Mac and tuna.)

2) The Night Santa Went Crazy was the first Weird Al song I ever heard.

3) I have a most excellent scar on my back due to heart surgery at the ripe old age of 2 and a half. It's shaped more or less like a cresent, and I rather like it.

4) I talk to myself CONSTANTLY. Everytime I walk home by myself, and sometimes when there are other people as well, I'm talking to myself. It's nice, never being alone.

5) I have pseudo-plans for a webcomic running about in my head. The problem is, I'm not sure if I've really got enough focus for it.

6) I never use the caps lock key. Ever. I just hold shift down when I need to shout something, even if it's a damm long message.

7) I have a figure of Bernard the wild thing sitting on my dresser. He is way cool. I actually have several action figure type things, Bernard the wild thing, The Black Spy, Cutter Leetah and Cutter's wolf...dammit, can't remember the name right now, it's been a while since I've read Elfquest.

8) A good swingset is one of the most cruicial factors to my happiness. I need to be able to, when I'm in a crappy mood, go and just swing and think, and have my mind settle itself.

9) I get motionsick pretty easily. It's finally gotten to the point where I haven't thrown up on a long car ride since the big trip, but I do get to the point where I feel as though I might, espceially if I read something.

10) I have a couple hundread over a thousand cranes hidden in my room. I really ought to do something with them, seeing as their all pretty and whatnot.
