I'm so far behind on everything. This past week has been madness. Here, have a pre-written photopost from a month ago.

***

So, at No Such Convention, I wandered into an empty panel room at some point, and noted how lonely the chalkboard seemed. So I picked up a piece of chalk and drew one of my standard rar-dinos.

It only got awesome from there )

Speaking of Shaenon, here is her and Dirk manning their booth:
Dirk and Shaenon man the booth

And why not just consolidate the con pics --have some snaps from Vericon, too )

THOUGHTS WHILE PACKING:

1548:

Man, my folder of worship is getting *awesomely* full. One Comedity print, original art by Randy Milholland, Randall Munroe, and Jeph Jacques, a random commision of a dinosaur I bought at AnimeBoston, Hiro's milk mustache ad, the picture of me that Dominik used as a print for his portfolio, and my still alive index cards.

And that's not counting the Maryland folder of worship which contains an obscene amount of KattersArt, and my original sluggy art.

(For reference, the folder of worship is basically full of everything that goes on the wall of worship. So, not real posters, but Other Cool Things. I should put the ST article I ripped out of a magazine in there too.)

1557: Dude, that's James Bond? What the hell is James Bond music doing in my iTun...ohyeah. Thanks Talia!

1636: Unrelatedly to anything (I'm fine today, just a little stressed out) I find it really interesting that, one of the things I do when I'm trying really hard not to start crying in public, is to begin seeing how much of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy I can recite.

Granted, this somehow backfires as I originally began to learn hitchhikers as a self-masochistic way to illustrate the 2718.89 miles between me and my clone, and if I think too hard about that I'll be depressed, but still, just as a "shit shit I need to distract myself from everything in real life" it works like a charm.

1925: ...Ohyeah, I was working on this. Well, I mean, Ria was all "doof?" and dhs was all "I'll bribe you to come to Diesel with the offer of giving back your clothes" and so I went and got dinner with Ria and Mando (who recently dyed his hair BLUE and so now looks not unlike a character of mine) and then went to Diesel where I stayed for like...an hour or something. On the wicked plus side, I was finally properly/formally introduced to [livejournal.com profile] sunspiral, which is exciting. *adds him as a friend*

Now all I need to do is properly meet Cthulia and I'll be able to officially consider myself a Boston based fen.

2137: Did I really just spend the last two hours reorganizing my friends lists, again? Fuck. Me.

2224: You know what I want to know? I want to know how long it would've taken me to meet and become friends with Janny without the sluggy.net link. I think the only other person on my friends list who I could say pretty confidentally that I would meet without however I met them having happened is dan4th. And maybe very vaguely possibly Magus, but only insomuch I would've started to meet him at Balticon '06 rather than Origins '04

I'm attempting to clean out my gmail inbox, ie, archiving everything I'm done with. I had 1209 messages from 2008 sitting in my inbox waiting to be archived and about 4500 overall, I am *hilariously* bad at this, and not just because of the several hundred comment threads of doom I'm ignoring with mek.

OH! And I might be going to GenCon this year!! Mom's going, and if I can get the time off from wherever I will be working, there was an implication of me being able to booth babe for Joan. :D!

2237: So, something Tristan asked me right when we found out we were both virgos1 was "So what's your neurosis?" I can't remember exactly what I answered --almost certainly my default compulsion, the fact that I clean my glasses overly often, and every single time I ever get into a conversation about OCD or neuroses. *speaking of which, cleans 'em now. Sigh*

But I think my current big one is the neck thing. I hate hate HATE having my neck touched, it freaks me out. Occasionally, I'll just freak out about the fact that I have a neck for no good damn reason which pisses me off, especially when I get the "ohgodohgod, need to have nothing near my neck, RIGHT NOW" Necklaces and collars I can take off. T-shirts are harder. Skin is impossible.

I was idly thinking about this, and about the fact that, when doing the cuddling/petting/caressing fan situation that I seem to find myself in a lot, if someone gets their hands too close to my neck, I will invariably move their hands down.

At some point, I am going to inadvertently move their hands down to far and accidentally cause someone to grope me. Stupid fucking neuroses.

2301: Oh, bitches!! So, I'm looking at my class schedule, and the creative writing class I really wanted to take because hey --Sorcy likes creative writing!-- takes place on Thursdays. From 6:45 to 9:15 PM.

Yeah, when is Concord based contra again? What's that? Exactly that time? What the fuck Belanie. What the fuck.

(So now I have to decide if I'm going to try and find another class to take instead or if I'm just going to not start doing contra up here until next January --I suspect one of the deciding factors in which I choose will be how much contra I get in over the summer.

Still though. Bitches.

0019: QUOTE OF THE DAY:

JoshZed:
this is more of the strong evidence that I'm really a 1 on the Kinsey scale
or close to it
I mean, if Randall doesn't do it for me, who will?

(Good lord, has the concept of sexing up Randall Munroe become a *theme* in my livejournal? That's either terrifying or awesome.)

Also, I am amused that I started this as 'thoughts while packing' and haven't actually packed anything in seven hours or so.

0101:

NEW Quote of the Day!

"Do I want to know why you are interested in my lovelife?"
"Because human interactions of all sort fascinate me."
"Any sort of interaction is fascinating if it involves cherry-flavored lube!"
[Immediate follow-up comment] "...........I did not just type that.........."

0112:

OHMYGOD.

Does the world love me? I don't actually know. But the world might!

But...not being at movie night.

But Satanic motherfucking Mechanics!

Ohhhh, I should not be forced to have decisions like this...

0222: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Sor? Fuck you. Go do your paper. Like...now. Just because you know damn well you're not going to be sleeping tonight is no reason to not get the paper done early.

P.S: What is your plan, to sleep on the floor or something eventually? You're incredibly fucking stupid, I hope you're aware of that. Also, a week of sleep-dep? What makes you think you'll even be able to potentially *begin* to make it to Rocky? Yeah, that's what I thought. Tell your terminal optimism to fuck off.

MOOP!

1: heh, I almost wrote that as 'virgins'. Oops.
sorcyress: A character from a comic about the maintenance workers of the universe, holding a thumbs up and saying "MOOP!" (Zonker-MOOP!)
Solife.

Senior pictures were yesterday. I look...decent. If I get un-lazy, I'll scan the proofs.

Hehehe. Me not scanning things these days is all because I'm lazy. Because I HAVE A SCANNER! And that makes me happy.

Weird dreams last night. The world was about to end and everyone had to die or something like that. It was unsettling, but when I woke up, I forgot about it, until I accidentally ran into it via Elsewhere. The part I remember clearly was being in an elevator with KT and Sashi. We were going to plunge down and die, because everyone had to, and this way was reasonably painless.

The scary part was that it was only three floors down, but it took a phenomenally long time to plummet once they cut the ropes.

And for some reason, I recall kissing Sashi. Which is...different. I might have kissed KT too, I don't remember. Stupid cryptic dreams.

Comic news of the day is College Roomies From Hell!!! ZOHMYGODSABOUTDAMNTIME!!!

Also, I can't remember if I pointed you lot over to the most recent Order of the Stick yet or not. But dude, AD&D totally stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. :D

Dude, Fish is the wins for the day. He brought me the Eagles version of Journey of the Sorcerer. DudeforthewinsYAY!

And for anyone who doesn't know, the version I have of Journey of the Sorcerer (From the H2G2 movie soundtrack) is my most played song by...a lot. About 70 more times to anything else. Whoot music, especially nerd based music.

In other news, it's REALLY hard to type while sitting on my desk. Blame Fish for that, he stole my chair. *shakes fist*

And now he's trying to sway my mind with facts, like I sat down first! BAH AND LIES!!

I love my friends. :D

In other news, sitting on my desk is bad because I keep leaning against the secertary. And I'm going to accidentally knock it over, which would in fact be Bad.

So, yayforchairs.

And hummmmm...plots. *checks stalkerfile*

...Teh FRAKE? Stupid lack of freaking orginizational skills. *grumbles*

Well, there goes THAT plot. No matter, I have other ones to focus on. Involving birthday presents.

And ohyeah, I need to send mek's prezzies to him, don't I. Cruft. >.<

Maybe I can so that...soon. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. *sighs* That means I have things I have to type, and WHY ARE ALL MY PLOTS SO COMPLICATED?!

I'm good.

Alright, this post has dissolved into so much cryptic babbling. Ta then!

G'morning!

Livejournal? Caught up with, at least the past week or so. I had to pull a restart recently, so if there was something devestatingly important that you posted between my trip to Germany and last Monday, I missed it.

Webcomics? Also known as drugs, and caught up with. Also, today's Order of the Stick is the freaking WINS! Anyone who has even a LITTLE bit of gaming background, go read Order of the Stick, all of it, right now. I am dead serious, you NEED to read this comic.

And Rich is my uncle's arch-nemisis. Which is SO COOL! (long story, comment if you're interested)

E-mail? My yahoo account is nothing but mail from colleges who have gone "ZOHMYGODS, you took the PSATS and we want you!!" Or, in other words, completely ignorable.

Gmail is done with, minus the ten trillion messages from mek I haven't bothered to deal with. Ten at a time, hm? BAH!

It's all his fault. :p

There's nothing else I *need* to do on the interwebs at the moment. I COULD go poke my head into Sluggy.net and see what they're up to, but it's getting to the point where everyone I know or want to keep up with from S.n has an elljay. Actually, wait, I could go check up on both snopes and bash.org. Back secondish.

Right, NOW I'm done.

So, that's the internet for me. Comics, elljays, e-mail, snopes, and Bash. Other stuff is cool, but not required to be checked on a relitivly often basis.

So, onto real life. Senior pictures today, as opposed to yesterday. Yeaaaaah. I don't really do pictures. I don't really do anything that requires me to sit still and pose. Which counts being hemmed. Most boring moment of my life was probably when Veronica was hemming up the dress I borrowed from Tyler last year for CappiesGala. Not because Veronica is boring, but her mouth was full of pins so I couldn't talk to her, so all I could do was STAND THERE!

And that is why books were invented. God bless Johann Gutenberg, and God bless the printing press. And is it a bad thing that I can remember exactly WHICH book I read that day? 'Twas the TMBG part of Chrome Circle...

Yes, I'm a litdork. If you didn't know this already...well...wow. You don't pay attention. I may not always have a book on me, but I always have SOMETHING to write on/in, and a pen...or several. I'll write on myself if I don't have any paper (currently my arm says I [heart] ink poisoning.) I think it's a prereq to being a writer...

Currently, I'm looking at this compisition book and debating whether or not to type up the elljay entry I wrote in here. I will eventually, it's babbling about candy and England, but I think that it deserves it's own entry. So, later.

Other reallife stuff? I think I slept wrong, my back hurts, and twisting to the right so that my shoulders are more then about thirty degrees perpendicular to my legs REALLY HURTS! (for contrast, I can hit nearly ninty degree's if I twist to the left) I haven't figured out what stretch I'm supposed to be doing to fix it either, which is the worst of it.

I like being flexible. Being able to place my palms on the floor with my legs together and knees unbent without having to warm up first is COOL. I should start learning more yoga, since I'm *not* taking gymnastics anymore, and yes kung-fu stretches me out, but I think I'm probably losing some of it.

(Also, doing shoulderstands are HARD! Or rather, it's almost numbingly easy, or was, until I realized that to do it proper, you need your whole body to be straight. Huh. I'll have to get Diane to show me how to do it proper when I see her next...I'm not tilted over far, but I'm a perfectionist, and I have this whole advantage of being young and stretchy.)

In better news, my knee has healed up pretty well. It's got a LOVELY bruise on it, all purple and red. So, from one problem to another. I just wish I could convince my body to COOPERATE for a while, and not get hurt. :p

I miss gymnastics. I should go practise arials out in the sledding field sometime, and swear a lot at how far I've slipped. (I used to be able to do them, I swear!) I don't miss the people or the being FAR too much older then anyone else or the CD memories (Rest in peace), but I miss the actual thing of gymnastics. Kung-fu's fun and all, but it's not the same. There's a lot less flying...

I'm apparently wont to babble these days. 'sok, I can handle that. If I felt like it, I would go turn on IM and babble to people -Marc surely, since I have yet to see him offline (I don't understand you people with your messages of one sort or another for weeks at a time. Is it some grand secret that no one's told me that it's better to never turn off your computer or somesuch?) and probably a handful of other people I may or may not feel like talking to. Jarne's probably awake, I saw him in passing earlier. mek's sleeping, Tho should be sleeping, and Ksatyr's at work.

Oh yes, pictures though. I should, you know, brush my hair out. It's probably REASONABLY brushed, but meh. Have to look good for pictures.

Effing braces.

I need to babble about my hair in here sometime. Because it's excellent. Possibly with pictures.

I think that's all for the now. Ta.

Minor News:

~Sluggy has an evil talking sword. This is so cool it's not even funny.

!! *flash of sudden specness*

What happens when the DoP gets ahold of the sword? Yeah.

~Dominic Deegan has been amazing recently. Makes me happy.
~"I find I do my best work conscious." Good, good line.
~[dead link]Crossroads loses his points for having a cool webcomic since he decided to stop updating it. *sniffle*

and the IMPORTANT news:

Cat and Mouse is an awesome webcomic. I love it. It's way cool. Plus, it's drawn by one of my originals, AND *I* have a cameo in it. This basically means that mek* gets a bazillion cool/brownie points, which means that I have to make him brownies,** but I'm ok with that.

Except he lives in the wrong place. *sniffles* I wish he lived nearby. Like close enough so that he went to mah school. That would be nice. By a lot.

Yeah...Anyway, Cat and Mouse is a very fun webcomic(short archive though) written by a very fun person, so I heartily suggest you all go check it out.

And check out all the other comics I point out here as well. Thats WHY I point them out.

I love webcomics.

~Sorceress/Kat

Well, um, I haven't updated in a while. We know this.

Why?

Mostly because I've been playing too much DDR.

That is all

ANI: KAT!

What?

ANI: First you don't update for a week, and then you decide to leave just a few sentances? Thats NOT good.

Hush, I've turned Evil.

KRIS: Yay!

Well, sortof an apathetic evil.

KRIS: an apathetic evil? That sounds...

Dumb? Yeah, I know.

KRIS: Ok, just as long as you know. So, has anything interesting happened in the last week?

Well, lets see...I got a B in HVAM, Crossroads Inc started up, I scanned in a bunch of artwork and uploaded it to my DeviantArt account, we played Runequest yesterday, spring break started, I'm working on rules for a dice game, I think I know what I want to wear for Halloween, Sluggy.net was madness on the first, and I'm not REALLY a schizophrenic healer...I just play one on TV...er, in this RPG I'm playing on Sluggy.net.

ANI: *blinks* informative.

AME: can we maybe have some details?

yeah sure, why not.

HVAM = Healing Vision Angelic Mix = very hard DDR song, so I'm really glad I got a good grade on it...

RAF: *coffOBSESSIVEcoff*

You really ought to do something about that cough of yours. Oh, and we determined that, due to what he's obsessed with, Jeremys dream would be a bunch of hot girls playing Magic: the Gathering on fire.

AME: I' m not even going to ask

Yeah, thats probably wise of you.

RAF: So, what would YOUR dream be?

I dunno, but it probably has something to do with unlimited time and high speed internet.

oh and dice. Theres always room for dice.

KRIS: A flaming room filled with adorable bishies all roleplaying and reading webcomics and playing with dice and stuff?

...

sure. Except I think we missed the piratical aspect of that. and of course, we always need a few dozen mentions of the GSWS

AME: The what?

Sorry dear...classified information.

AME: *glares* I thought that that didn't exist with us.

Oh it normally doesn't. But keep in mind that the entire population of the GSWS is...one.

KRIS: I wanna join...

I know you do. EVERYONE wants to join it. I mean, who wouldn't want to join my secret society.

RAF: Jack Chick?

*laughs* probably. That guy is one of the biggest assholes ever.

ANI: Be nice. He has as much a right to his opinion as you have to yours, plus he actually does try and do something about it.

I just think its ironic about how he points out that comics are of the devil...in his comics!

AME: Yeah well, you shouldn't call him names.

I know. I take it back, even though he is completely anti gaming in ways that I will never understand. I HATE anti gamers. With a screaming passion. I also REALLY dislike the fact that he's so flargin homophobic.

AME: Kat! waitaminute...Flarging?

Yeah...umm...nevermind.

AME: Oh this explanation ought to be good. Whats Flarging mean?

An adjective form of Flarg.

AME: And whats Flarg?

uhh...A general curse word used by the deziens of the CCCT and by one of the Great Ones, Crossroads Inc himself?

AME: Kaaaaat...what IS your obsession with cursing out of books?

The teachers are less likely to get pissed by it? Unless, of course, they've read the Artemis Fowl books, Crossroads Inc, or Myste Lackey's work.

RAF: Crossroads you've explained...but what are the other two?

D'arvit and Sheka. Eoin doesn't give an explanation of what D'arvit means, only that its a very bad piece of fairy vocabulary, and Sheka means, quite litterally, horse shit.

There, I just taught the kiddies out there three new curse words. I feel so special.

ANI: KAT!

What? I told you already, I think I turned evil.

ANI: Lovely. So, now that we just spent 36 lines about HVAM, only two of which were actually on topic, whats next?

Well um, before i go any farther, I want to apologize to everyone who has me as a friend and dislikes the fact that I write really long entries. I suppose I could serch around and figure out how to make them just those little links, but I'm too lazy.

Next details: I'm going to skip over Crossroads right now, since I plan to gush about that in the TGAoW section, so...Pictures! I added 14 hand drawn pictures to my Deviant Art account and they're so PRETTY!

Click?

Thats the link. hopefully. If it works THANKS JANNY! if it doesn't, then I must be doing something wrong.

KRIS: ...

What?

KRIS: That pic you've got of Robert...

Yeah. He's sort of based off of you.

KRIS: *nods* that explains a lot.

Yeah it does!

Next stuff: Runequest! Runequest is a tabletop RPG that i am playing with Veronica, Lily, Zoe, and Paul as our GM. We managed to find Thedart (probably spelled wrong) who has some sort of connection with Teras's (Zoe) aunt.

We also wandered around a lot and fought some zombies and skeletons, PLUS we figured out how to make Vinna's (Veronica) unicorn horn work. We also went into spirit combat with these wraith things, and we all killed them, but our power didn't go up.

Yeah, and I deleted this next bit of news because I try to avoid rants/flames/direct attacks in here.

So...Spring break started! Yayness!!

KRIS: so, how is this going to be different from your normal routine?

It's not! except for the fact that I won't have to go to school all day. actually...*looks at the Todo.* hmmm...

ANI: yeah, I would definently advise getting some of that done.

*sigh* maybe...I can at least cross two things off it though!

ANI: What.

Finish reading Penny Arcade and CotC! Of course, that means that I have even MORE webcomics to read on a daily basis, but thats ok.

ANI: *rolls eyes* why am I not surprised?

Because you know me too well! Next up...yeah. My dice game.

Basically you take a large number of dice and roll them a lot. I have better rules, plus some stratigies, but their secret.

Halloween costume: well, considering I'm probably going to forget by the time it becomes relevent...Anyway, I may or may not be an evil genie for Halloween.

April Fools day was really fun, and i fell for all three of the big pranks played @_~

RAF: What pranks?

Well, I actually belived that all these random people had become mods for a day, I thought Ex Mrs Llefser really was on the boards, and I was skeptical, but more or less beliving, of the fact that SqueekyMewMew had to leave.

So basically, I'm a gullible little idiot.

Oh, BTW, it says "Gullible" on the ceiling of the stagecraft room.

AME: Does it now?

Well no, but it will by next year.

And last bit of news...I fell in a hole and am not trying to figure out weather or not it was a good idea to be hacking off bits of a gigantic collum of Jello. I have a feeling that we are all going to die soon. They did tell us not to read.

AME: What does that have to do with being Schizo?

You know, I really shouldn't be writing this here...oh well. Anyway, my charecter has two halves which each want control of her body.

KRIS: cool in an odd sort of way.

yeah, Nan/Alis is a cool charecter. I like her.

RAF: waitaminute...you named one of the halves Alis?

yeah.

RAF: hrmph.

What? Trust me, I NEVER go by Nan.

RAF: I really do think you should try and roleplay someone COMPLETELY unlike you every once in a while.

Yeah but I'm too pacifistic to do so. Plus, I can't act romantic.

KRIS: so the oppisite of you would be someone romantic and violent...a dominatrix maybe?

...sure...

KRIS: go me.

Yeah, anyway, I think that thats all for todays news.

See yas
