You know what I'd like?

Some sort of club or group or whatever where the whole goal is simply to protect people from having to sleep alone.

You wouldn't have to ever sleep with someone, but if you're tired and cold and lonely, you really don't want to have to go to an empty bed. And if you're warm and safe and happy, you *really* don't want to have to go to an empty bed.

The problem with such a group, of course, is quality control. I do not want to bed an asshole, it seems...distasteful. And as unfair as the thought may be, some people are better at cuddling than others.

Digression with Daleks. Hold on, I just thought of the next Gloom card... )

So, yesterday was the one year anniversary of me having seen V for Vendetta. I celebrated by having a midterm in sociology, not having my computers class, going to play practise, and then watching V for Vendetta with Lauren, Emily, Dominik, Mary (D.'s girlfriend), Katie (sp?) (Mary's best friend), Cecily, Skye (Random half-Brit friend of mine from English class who lives above Cec), and Jess.

It was very very fun. So that was good.

Also, before Jess arrived with the DVD player, we spent much time discussing the family ties, and who exactly is related to who. See, Dominik adopted Emily as his daughter, and me and Lauren wound up as the crazy aunts...so Dominik is my brother in law, and Emily is my niece. And Cecily is my...mother in law, but she's not Dominiks mom, so she must be his stepmom. It's all very confusing.

Today's adventures involved Kat being UBERHYPER. Oh, but first, I went to math class this morning and TOTALLY KICKED THE ASS OF MY QUIZ, OHMAN!

See, I forgot completely we were having a quiz. Ohnoes, and all that. So I hadn't studied, which is bad of me. Luckily for me, I tend to just kick a lot of ass at math in general, so I more or less annihilated most of the quiz. But there was one question worth ten points (out of 100...eek!) that basically just said "find the standard deviation"

Which, of course, I had completely forgotten how to do. I was the second to last person to leave the room, because it took me twenty minutes of playing with numbers and trying different things to remember how to find standev. But I did it! Oh yeah!! *happydances*

Soyeah.

Then English, where I wrote about Snakes on a Plane, then lunch, where I was hyper, then wandering around with Lauren and Emily and Dominik. Our goal was to go and get a book for Emily for one of her classes...we went to this tiny used bookstore just out of Harvard Square proper, that specilized in old textbooks. It was pretty much completely heaven --I have to go back sometime soon as I found a book I put on hold there. It is about pronouns and feminism and gender neutral pronouns, and yeah. Just cool.

Then we continued our wandering, stopped into the tobacco store, which I found out sells straight razors. Arrrg, sixty dollars though! I think I need to start hitting up antique shops and try and find a cheaper (and more period) one.

Went to another bookstore, then sent Dominik off to his class at AIB and came home. Andyeah.

Tonight I am going to go work on the play until about nine, and then me and Lauren and Emily and Dominik are going to make spaghetti for dinner. Nommy!

Firstfirstfirst, [livejournal.com profile] slaversbane and [livejournal.com profile] jestingly_yours have COMBINED FORCES to create the single greatest comment thread ever. Seriously you two, I kept giggling every time I saw one of you had added another line to it.

Secondly, Kate (Who I have unofficially dubbed Kate Monster, but not actually told her yet) is letting me borrow Maus I&II. Eeee! Plus, we were hanging out at the poster sale that's going on on the quad, and looking at movie posters and stuff and SHE'S HEARD OF SPACED! (She was SO jealous of you, mom, when I told her your Simon Pegg story) She's actually seen more Spaced then I have, but she hasn't heard of Black Books, so I don't have to feel COMPLETELY inadequete.

Thirdly, Dave is amazing because he and Diane took me out to dinner (Hot dogs!), let me do my laundry at their place (instead of having to pay 2.50 a load over here. :P) and helped me to get all of my music onto Seren. So I HAS MUSICS! I can now do things like make playlists with BOTH Assassins albums and stuff.

Fourthly, Keira is awesome because we've actually figured out a way to chat, and she seems to have designated herself my bad influence. So yay!

Fifthly, Veronica is awesome because she has declared herself Squeaky. And she like, did it right and got Assassins out of the library and watched bits of it on YouTube and stuff. So all I have to do is teach her some of the fanon (Of course Czolgosz's handkerchief has posies on it! And you do know that Booth has a TARDIS, right?) and she will become one of ussss. *hisses evilly and smirks*

'course, that's really the sort of thing that belongs over on DeviantArt, as that's where the crazy Assassins fans lurk. Yeeeah. I kinda wandered back in and have been doing things again, and it's all very entertaining.

Sixthly...Well, I'm awesome. But you all knew that. And, by extention, my clone is awesome.

Seventhly, Ksatyr is awesome because he's picking me up from the airport when I come home on Friday.

OH! And eighthly, Dave is awesome, again, because he's letting me borrow the V for Vendetta comic, which I hadn't actually read. So yay!

Ninthly, Tho is awesome because he's willing to let me be all "Rannt!" and he goes all "Advice". So that's good stuff.

Tenthly, Aly is awesome because she JUST TOTALLY IS, OHMAN! Also, Aly? I have secret messages to give you to pass to...

waitaminute.

*the Sorcy has gotten an idea. A horrible, terrible idea. *grinchgrin!*

Annnnnnnnd I'm out. [/mini-egoboost]

First Day

Soyeah.

It's the end of the first day of being at college.

Sofar, I have checked in, gotten my room, somewhat unpacked, met the roomie, eaten dinner, and started to make friends. Mostly, it's just kindergarden --everyone is really really nice, and trying to make friends.

So far, I've made friends with one girl who's a gamer and who positivly SQUEED when she learned that I was related to the guy who wrote Eberron. It was awesome. There's a Boston native called Evan who also games somewhat, and wants to start a gaming club of some sort. Also, there's a Californiagirl called Kaila who is quite awesome, and is in the same "Where is everything in Massachusettes?" boat as me.

After all the boring meetings and stuff, Evan, Kaila, about six others and I went out for a walk down to Davies square, with Evan playing tour guide. We found an awesome little cafe which sells vegan fuds, and it's right next to a used bookstore, so I clearly need to go back.

Soyeah. Life is good thus far. I miss you all and all that.

I finally got my roommate info today. Her name is Grace, and from our "well, neither of us know the other so lets start at the basics" conversation on Facebook so far, she seems nice.

Since I will be going far far away, I need to open up a proper stalkerfile, with all the information I will ever need, about everybody.

Comments are screened, if you don't want to toss this much personal stuff into a comment, my e-mail is kdsorceress at gmail dot com. You don't have to give me any information you don't feel comfortable sharing, I'm mostly just going to use this in case of boredom ("Hi Shadowkev! It's been a while, how you doin'?") or emergency ("OMFG, Persis, your niece just EXPLODED!")

So. Tell me ALLLLLLLLL about yourself...

1) Name you prefer to be called, and will actually answer to
2) Real name, if I can wrangle it out of you.
3) Mailing address
4) Home address ("Suprise! You meant it when you said I could stop by ANYtime, right?")
5) Primary e-mail address (the one you check most often)
6) Phone number
7) Cell/work/other phone number
8) Birthday!
9) School
10) Place of work
11) Social Security Number
12) Nuroses
13) Sexual orientation(s) (ie, bi-, poly-, awesome-, a-, etc)
14) Diameter of head
15) Favourite flavour of: a) cake and b) instant pudding
16) Number of times you have seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show
17) Boxers or briefs?
18) Favourite game(s)
19) Other...interesting stuff that I may have forgotten

That should be enough. *laughs her evil laugh* And yeah, if you need/want any or all of that information out of me, e-mail me and I'll send you what I feel safe passing along.

Ta!

Talking to six people at once on Gtalk is awesome, but moderately hard to keep track of. Especially whilst trying to write elljay entries.

So yeah. Have some quotes.

Katters:
[/lj]
I don't think killing eljay is actually that easy, Sor.

Katters:
BAH
I am going to assassinate Ronald McDonald
Because he is a bastard that denies me the food I ordered

Me: ...
Me: does not make any innuendos involving having root acess
Thorog: Well, if she asks me to mount her home filesystem...:P

Me: I will attempt to get pictures of me in [my pirate garb] sometime, since I was rediculously hot looking
shadowcaptain: if she does say so sheself :-P
Me: I do!
Hey, you objecting to my egotism?
Or my hotness
Because while the first is likely to ocassionally get me slapped, the latter is totally awesome, and completely undeniable
*doesn't even make sense to herself!*
shadowcaptain: um... (smiles) (nods) (backs away slowly)

Yes. I think that's the best for the moment. Uhm.

There is no more point to this entry, other then to bitch about how nice it is to talk to loads of people all at once. I should go boot up AIM and see if anyone remembers me.

2006

Since reviewing the previous year is the cool thing to do.

So, from what my Elljay has to say:

January-- Made some New Years Resolutions. I can't remember most of these, but of them, I know I took care of at least one. *sigh*

Watched the first season of Black Books. Watched the Hitchhikers miniseries. Drew a family tree. Got ahold of a scanner. Was somewhat intelligent.

February-- Started my Concerta, went to Pirate Feast, Importance of Being Earnest

March-- Posted some egoboosts, lost my RHPS virginity, joined the ketchup revolution, celebrated "Everything Will Go Right Day", found...that. (*sighgulpapologies*), began to chill out with Tho

April-- Sam and Leona (spelling?)'s wedding, began to be more responsible, went to Port Discovery, met Ksatyr (Maybe in March. Same diff), began working on that nonexistent Sorc101 thing, began walking to Rivendell, got bit by Koob, went to Prom, went to my first TMBG concert, Heisman.

May-- Went to RHPS, rocked the Cappies, went to Germany, opened up, regretted it (ohgods, regretted it), recieved a flower from someone I care about, went to Balticon, remet Magus.

June-- Bought my first bodice, lost our second cat, volunteered a pirate reststop, joined the zombie game, wrote my "Players in my life" entry (linked in my userinfo), got summer break (woo!), continued to grow older.

Broke up with Blue.

Went to London

July-- Came back from London, attended daycamp, got a job, fell hopelessly in "love or like or lust or SOMETHING" with someone awesome (possibly in June, but shh), fell hopelessly in love with Dr. Who and/or David Tennant, went to Maine with Eric, Josh, and Mom, got introduced to Geetar Hero, saw Sweeny Todd, saw Avenue Q for the first time, watched The Stand, lost the game (*cues groans and swears...yes, I do suck*)

August-- went to NYC to be in a gang, mum's B-day party, hit some truly beautiful catharsis, learned that the eleven best words in the world are entierly variable, watched Clerks, Clerks2 and Mallrats, went to NYC for Jeffs wedding, watched Avenue Q again, saw Snakes on a Plane, TURNED 17!!, started my senior year, went to the first wedding of all my cousins.

September-- walked 18 miles in a day, started work, did some Dagohiring, fell in love with xkcd, found Narbonic, started watching Dr. Who, enjoyed TLaPD.

October-- finished work, took the SAT's, went to RHPS, ignored homecoming completely, became Jake Blues, and celebrated Halloween as best I could.

November-- Saw V for Vendetta, went to RHPS, visited a tattoo parlour, failed at NaNoWriMo, celebrated Turkey Day, played Spycraft, and reaffirmed my love for Macs. (Also, I very much exhibit the primary catch-22 of elljay: If you have things worth posting about, you're too busy to post them. If you have time to post, you have nothing to post about.)

Decenber-- The Night of January 16th, Shadowlands, went to The Addams Family as preformed by the mechanics, started drivers ed, finished drivers ed, sang the praises of the gods, became a Geetar Hero

Figured out my fundemental design flaw.

Got presents, celebrated exmass, hung out with Ksatyr a lot, cleaned my room, played with cool people, NEW YEARS PARTY! and got to see Magus again. Which I think I've mentioned something like three times in the last half dozen posts or something. Shutup, I *like* seeing my faraway friends. I'd be doing the same with Janny or Jarne or Kat.

...Whew.

Right.

I'm still around.
Life is happening.
I am going to Germany in May.
I am going to London in June.
I just finished watching The Breakfast Club.

...I am SO the Basket Case. And I really do think we should watch it at the end of the year for AdComp.

Life is quiet. Although yesterday was awesome. We wound up with something like ten people playing blind tag at the park, and then me and Jeremy and FlipMatt beat each other with sticks. And there was running around and tree climbing and yay!

And after pretty much everyone else had started home, I was lying on the grass with my sword-stick across my chest. Jeremy comes over and steps on it, pushing it into me and lecturing about not being caught vulnerable. I respond by side-sweeping his leg with my arm, and rolling and coming up into a squatting position with the sword-stick in my hands. I have never felt more badass before in my life.

And Dear Veronica: You have given me an epiphany. And yes, I fully realize that it's better for me to know this. But DAMNIT! I *liked* life JUST the way it was.

Stupid epiphanys are never good.

H: You haven't been listening to enough showtunes lately, if you say that.
Why Hyde, I never took you for a Sweeny Todd fan.
*pauses*
*thinks about it*
Alright, yes I did. Nevermind.

Other other stuff:

I still need to post the Chibi-Hyde I drew, but more importantly then that, I need to post the really amazing realistic(ish) self portrait I drew. Because it impresses the HELL out of me.

I think I'm going to go dick around in my room now while listening to Rocky Horror. And yes Hyde, I know I haven't been listening to anything else for days now and it's driving you mad. But it's SO GOOD!

That is all.

P.S: Kat: I don't know *why* you chewed on it. It doesn't taste very good.
