There were quite a few different pieces of crypticness, that I eventually decided not to post, instead leaving you with this crypticness, which you have NO IDEA whether it's a bad crypticness or a good crypticness, and therefore will be confused forever! Or, well, until you forget about it, which ought to be soon, as there really ought to be a limit to how thoroughly you lot stalk me.
The Babysitter's Here, Dar Williams
Tonight was just great, she taught us the sign for peace.
Now she's made us some popcorn, we've turned out the lights and we're watching movies.
I don't understand and she tries to explain how
A spaceship is riding through somebody's brain and their blood and guts...
She's the best one that we've ever had
She sits on her hair, and she's tall as my dad
And she tie-dyed my shirt, and she pierced her own ear
And it's peace, man, cool, yeah, the babysitter's here.
Her boyfriend is Tom but we call him the king of romance
He wears an American flag on the butt of his ripped up pants
And will they get married with kids of their own? He says
"Not if she's going to college we won't"
And he kisses her, oh...someday I'll have a boyfriend just like that...
She's the best one that we've ever had
She sits on her hair, and she's tall as my dad
And she got mad at dinner when Tom drank a beer
But peace man, cool, hey, the babysitter's here.
And we all went to see her go dance at the high school
We made her a big card
And she told us that she'd be the unicorn wearing the pink leotard
And there she was leaping up just like she said,
With a sparkling horn coming out of her head
And she's oh...oh... I can't wait to give her the card, I can't wait to give her the card
She's the best one...
But it's Saturday night, I can't sleep, and we're watching the news
She says "Do me a favor, don't go with a guy who would make you choose,"
And I don't understand and she tries to explain
And all that mascara runs down in her pain
Cause she's leaving me...
You're the best one that we've ever had
You sit on your hair and you're tall as my dad
And I'll make you a picture for colleg next year
So hush now, peace, man, the babysitter's here.
The best babysitter's here.
So, a while ago (summer of 2003 and 2004, I believe) I went to an all girls camp in Maine called Wyonegonic. If you've ever seen The Parent Trap, it was pretty much that camp. (Although I never did find that mysterious twin. Also, there was no cute-veryyoung-Lindsey Lohan, which is a downright *shame*)
It was a wonderful camp, and I liked being there very much, but ninety percent of all the girls there were morons, of the "boys-makeup-shoes!" variety. Totally a pain in the ass. Which is why I didn't choose to go back as a CIT, and instead stayed in Maryland for the summer and got a girlfriend. Marginally better decision, methinks.
ANYWAYS. So, 2003, I was not-yet-in-high school, kinda kept to myself, generally geeky, read everything I got my hands on, and spent a lot of time drawing. I got along reasonably well with the girls in my cabin. We lived in a duplex, so we had twice as many girls and two counselers, which was pretty neat.
The counseler who wasn't technically mine was called Anna and she was wonderfully nice. The thing that stuck out most about her, however, was the fact that she could Sing. And every night, she sung us all to bed.
The above song is one she sung on more then one ocassion. It is sweet, and kind, and wonderful, and never really left me. It's just an all around wonderful song, and, while it's been long enough that I can't remember Anna's voice singing it, I still use her florishes when I attempt to butcher it.
Coming home from dancing, Magus put that on, in search of Dar Williams music to play at me*. It's entierly disconcerting to have music be played out of context, but not nessecarily a bad thing. Soyeah. Hoorah for random babblings from the Sorcy.
((A quick googlesearch and wikipedia scan reveals that Dar also sung "February" which I recognize the lyrics from when Anna sung it, but the tune is completely gone. I shall have to hunt that one down at somepoint, and by hunt it down, I mean, beg Magus for a copy.
...P.S: If Yury's reading this for some reason, I miss you bro. :P))
*Because I have fallen in love with "The Christians and the Pagans" and irrational music-squeeage should not be based on just one song.
***
I gotta agree with Jeph Jaques that all-caps is pretty much the best way to make things sound funny. Which is why "Dear self, this is not functional, what is wrong with you?" is not nearly as entertaining as "DEAR SELF, THIS IS NOT FUNCTIONAL, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
Not that anything's wrong with me. Ohno, I'm *perfectly* functional. What, I am! I'm not crying, at least, and considering that I have cried because I couldn't find my gorram German textbook (okay, I'm moderately sure that it was slightly more complex then that) I'd like to think that if I'm not crying, then nothing is wrong with my life.

Welcome to Sorcy's Room. You are standing in front of a blue metal door with bubble wrap taped to it. There is tape where a white board used to be. The white board is now sitting on the floor.
>Enter room
You are in Sorcy and Grace's dorm room. It is small, cramped, and messier on Sor's side then Grace's.
>Examine Sor's side of room
Sor has a bed crammed up against the wall, a desk crammed next to it, some shelves with hats and toys on them, some shelves with craft things, food, movies, and books crammed on them, and a dresser in her closet.
>Examine shelf with books
You can't reach, the bed's in the way.
>Stand on bed.
Bouncy!
>Examine shelf with books
There is a milk crate on its side with several of Sor's absolute favourite books inside. A half dozen more titles are on top of the crate. You get the feeling that these books here are pretty much the foundation for Sor's sanity.
>Get 'The Pirates Mixed Up Voyage'
I'm sorry, I don't see that here.
>...What?
'The Pirates Mixed Up Voyage' does not appear to be on the shelf.
>Well, why not? I thought you said these books were the foundation of Sor's sanity!
They are.
>...And isn't 'The Pirates Mixed Up Voyage' Sor's absolute favourite book, ever, and her security blanket?
Well, I wouldn't nessecarily say absolute favourite book ever, there's Hitchhikers of course, and Sandman, and quite a bit of Mercedes Lackey. But it is her security blanket, yes.
>Well, where is it then?
California.
>California?
California.
>What the fuck is it doing in California?
Being borrowed by someone who Sor would hang the sun and the moon for.
>...Ooookay then. Is there a surrogate security blanket?
You could try 'By the Sword', by Mercedes Lackey.
>Get 'By the Sword'
You pick up a thick, aging paperback. It has no front or back cover, and the spine is beginning to peel away, leaving the title barely readable. On the front page, it says "Stolen from the library of the Duttons!" in blue ink.
>Get chocolate
You're assuming that I'm quite a smart program, aren't you?
>Yes, I am. Get chocolate.
Sigh, fine. You climb off the bed and open the top drawer of the desk. There are several things of candy here. You see a tube of white chocolate pastilles, the remains of a vegan chocolate-mint bar, an unopened dark chocolate bar, and a white chocolate covered pretzel.
>Take pastilles, pretzel, chocolate-mint bar
You pick up the chocolate with the hand that is not holding the book. You're holding quite a few things now.
>Place things on pillow of bed
You do.
>Sit on bed
You do.
>Read book and eat chocolate
...I'm sorry, you're not spewing enough blood for that to work.
>Slap computer
OW!
>Read book and eat chocolate
People are going to think you're on your period! I hardly think you want that!!
>Slap computer.
OW! Stop doing that!
>Read book and eat chocolate
Okay, okay! God!!
You place a pastille in your mouth and begin sucking on it absently. It's very nice. You then open the book and begin to read:
"Blessed--look out!"
Everyone turned and stared: at Kero, and at the boy about to lose the towering platter of bread...

Sometimes, I am a very strange person.
And because I'm bored, and kinda like being a computer program: Welcome to Sorcy's Room. You are standing in front of a blue metal door with bubble wrap taped to it. There is tape where a white board used to be. The white board is now sitting on the floor.
