Today has been an incredibly pleasant day, despite being physically pretty run down for a lot of it!

Austin came over last night, and we got to bed...late. I left presentations party at about eleven, and wrote my words fairly quickly, and then conked out in bed curled around him while he did some work. I think he went to bed around one (which is when I brushed my teeth and like actually laid down in a normal fashion instead of scrunching around him).

We both woke up at seven. Like...full awake, with nothing to do with this energy, particularly. So we snuggled, and then got up and made pancakes at eight fucking ay-em on a Saturday morning. The pancakes were, of course, delicious but what the hell were we doing up then?! We were up so early that we had time for a brief nap _before_ we left for bells!

We left for bells a little late (mostly due to me getting stuck in Lost Object Mode1 on my millipede notebook -I've since found it!) but got to try out a slightly new biking route, as a way of avoiding the nightmare red line shuttling. It was okay biking weather --I quickly realized I was overdressed for biking, although I pretty much nailed "walking around". We got to the tower pretty close to on time though --I think I started practice at 11:17, two minutes after official start time. Of course, practice was the two of us and Lauradi for the first half hour, joined by Bee and Todd at about 11:45.

This turned out okay! I often find small practices to be really useful --good chances to drill into shit! I'm not sure how well I managed to make that work for poor Todd, who was the babyringer of the bunch of us. I probably should've done more pure handling practice for all of us but especially him, but it was fun to make him ring Cloister2 and threaten him with Stedman.

Also when it was just three of us, Laura suggested "Shipping Forecast" and we rang that from two places each. This is the first method I've seen where each bell is on a totally separate path --usually the treble is on its own loop (so it starts and ends as the treble) and everything else is on the same path (so every time there's a lead, you become a different place bell). It was really fun to ring! It's simple and weird and I enjoyed trying it (but also enjoyed having five and getting to do doubles).

I have to decide how thoroughly/weirdly I write up my notes. I think I can punt this homework until Monday though, and then pair my notes for practice and service ringing.

After bellringing was the usual food on the greenway (we're rapidly approaching the end of this season, but we've been very lucky with Saturday weather recently) and then Laura and Austin and I wound our way through some busses. Austin and I took the 87 its entire route! Lechemere to Arlington Center! We were...slightly carsicky by the end of it.

But! It was worth it because we could go to Arlington Open Studios! We looked at art! We bought some art! We also browsed the Arlington main branch library which is a _gorgeous_ building!

(The nominal goal was to get to see 42itous, who was boothing. She was the first booth in the first building...and I still saw two friends before managing to greet her! It was a wonderful social boost getting to see lovely people! Within another five minutes after that, I ran into my (awesome) landlord as well!)

Also I bought a pumpkin coloured hair flower, and a _fantastic_ cicada print that I am super excited to hang on my wall of art --which I should take documentation photos of and put in here sometime-- and Austin and I bought Nice Mugs.

And then we came home and did a NEML3 and took a nap and ate food Ezri made and took a shower and now it is bedtime. Goodnight!

MOOP!

1: Lost Object Mode is possibly an ADHD thing and possibly a different brainweird thing, and definitely a fucking awful thing I do. If I have lost something inconsequential, I get stuck on Find The Thing, even if I, say, need to be getting ready to leave the house. Sometimes I can get _very_ stuck and lose a _lot_ of time this way which is awful, frankly.

My brain is typically pretty good at keeping track of Where Things Are, so part of it is distress that this talent has faltered, and part of it is panic because if things Aren't, I don't have a lot of guesses as to where else they could possibly be. Also, typically there's some frustration because I Want The Thing.

2: Cloister is Stedman minus the slow work. On doubles, 2 and 3 are plain hunting three, and 1, 4, and 5 are doing the dodges and quick work of Stedman.

3: "New England Math League", like NEFFA, this refers to its relevant object even though that's not a correct grammar.
