I am doing lots and lots of packing today (and tomorrow and the next few days) because it has finally struck me that I'm moving, uh, pretty soon actually. (on the 27th).

So please, it would make me very happy if you left me a comment or a story or a meme or a selfie or _whatever_ on this post so that when I next take a break to briefly doomscroll, there are nice and energizing things for me to look at.

Oh Oh Oh! And I just realized that I do have a mini-anecdote for you:

A few weeks ago, B got Skyrim and he & Z have been playing it pretty zealously & today, they finally sucked me into making a character (with help)! I'm (no great surprise for anyone who knows me) a Wood Elf Archer & Thief! I haven't died yet & I've already one-shotted a wolf! Wheeee!

I played my first game of Spirit Island with *both* kids this week! They charmed me into it, and it went about as well as I could have hoped.

(Summerpup had played a couple times already. It was Winterpup's first game of it.)

The boyz (see icon) are very focused on us. Touchstone spends the mornings with Java and the afternoons with me. Feste thinks it is his job to keep my feet warm at night. Schlau (not pictured) thinks that her job is to supervise us in the family room. They have both gotten into the "bedtime treats" portion of the routine which gives them more dental treats in a day but not too many at one time. Fortunately, they understand when it is hand feeding time fighting over the treats gets them nowhere and it is limited to Feste glaring at me when I feed one of the others.

Oh, and the National zoo has a panda cub.

My Act of Self-Care for the weekend was making a double-batch of waffles for Saturday breakfast and freezing most of them, so now I have toaster waffles whenever I want until I run out. Also I make pretty good[1] waffles.

[1] Everyone's tastes are different, yadda yadda, but adding some cinnamon and vanilla to the batter makes a world of different. Also true of pancakes.
