Note: Like all of my stories, I do not mean to offend anyone. If you wish to take it as a personal offense, so be it. I was merely inspired, and therefore the readers of this journal must suffer with me.

Marie slinked down the side street and gave a knock on the door. The door opened cautiously, and she slipped inside, wary of anyone who might be watching.

"Heya Raph," she whispered softly as she closed the door behind her. She felt his strong arms wrap around her, and his soft lips brush against her neck from behind.

"Hey beautiful." His hand slid down along her side until it was resting on her thigh, she shivered slightly, she wanted so bad to be able to do as she pleased with him, but it would never be allowed.

They just stood there in the darkened room for a few moments, each letting the heat of the other wash over them, keeping them warm in the slightly chilly apartment. Eventually, they pulled apart, and sat down at the table to eat the meager meal that Raph had prepared beforehand.

"So." she started quietly, staring at her noodle soup. "Did you hear about what happened to Robert?"

Raph nodded quietly, and Marie could see the glimmer of tears in his eyes. "He and Alexis. I never even knew they were in love until..." he trailed off, being beaten to death just for holding the hand of someone you loved while on a walk was a fate too terrible to think about. He gently placed his hand atop of Maries, and she started realesing her sorrows to his comforting sholder.

"Robert...He was such an amazing person. He was THIS CLOSE to finishing his reaserch, and then, all of a sudden, he reveals himself to have a girlfriend, and blam. Now he's gone." Marie leaned against Raph, her body shaking slightly with her silent sobs. "He was one of my best friends too. We kissed once. On a dare. I didn't hate it, and neither did he. I think thats when we BOTH figured it out."

Raph stroked her hair gently, refusing himself to think about what had happened. Marie looked up at him, fear in her gentle eyes. "When did you figure it out. that you were..." She didn't say the word, it was a dirty word, for horrible people. And she was a horrible person.

"I think it was after my third or so date with Tony. We kissed and...It just wasn't there. No spark, no life. Not like when I kiss you." He tilted her chin up and gently pressed his lips against hers, letting himself go in the moment.

There was a sudden SLAM and they jumped apart, squinting at the sudden flood of sunlight that had appeared. There were 4 or 5 people standing in the doorway, including a gun equipped Johnathan, a devot christian and Maries older brother.

"Freeze you dirty Hetero assholes!" His gun was pointed straight at Marie, and she knew in a split second, that her brother was going to kill her.

He strode in looking satisfied. "I THOUGHT so. Betcha thought you could keep secrets from your dear sweet brother didn't you Re-re." He used her childhood nickname, but not in the sweet tones he usually used it in. It was in harsh tones, caustic and painful, that burned into her heart. "Well, you can't. Now. You have one chance, because I like you. Renounce yourself, and I won't kill you, only the hetero basterd over here." Maries eyes widened with fear, she knew that no matter what choice she made, her love, her sweet secret love, would die.

She spat at his feet, and looked him straight in the eye with all the hatred she felt, and had always felt, to those who saw themselves as the clensers, the removers of all hetero's from the face of the planet. "Kill him then." she said, not bothering to hold back the angry tears trailing down her cheeks. "And kill me too. If I must die, then let it be for a worthy cause."

Johnathan shrugged, and two shots rang out, a bullet lodging itself into each of the lovers hearts. "Suit yourself then, hetero whore. At least the world is cleaner with you gone." With her dying breaths, Marie watched them leave, John joking, and grabbing the tush of his boy, while the other boys in the group tittered and looked at him with hope in their eyes. As she died, she felt herself wishing, wishing with all her heart, that one day those who were homosexual and those who were heterosexual could live in peace. As she collapsed into the arms of her love, her world going black, she wished. And then, she was gone.

A couple of minor grammar and spelling errors, nothing really obvious or glaring. The comma is a beautiful thing, but that doesn't mean you need to flash it around everywhere :P. Good usage of dialogue...actually sounds natural (which, believe me, is tricky). Good flow overall. Haven't read any of your other work, so I wouldn't know much about you style or how this relates otherwise. The message in here I've contemplated myself a couple of times (though I haven't written anything about it), and I've seen done some other times...but it's generally left alone enough to be non-cliche. However I think that in a ~400 word story like this it's a bit too obvious. Develop it into a ~1000 worder and it would do well....I'm thinking 1984 here...

Right. The Editor has left the house. Breath in peace, peoples. :)

It's a decent story. Not one of my favorites, but then again, it's one of the few thats been brutilized by editors.

Quite plausible. Although, I think this was before I ever read 1984, so thats just luck. :D
