sorcyressTuesday is visiting me!
It's been a nice _long_ visit, which has been all kinds of special and rare and neat --she'll have been here just under a week when all is said and done. I finally got to drag her to bellringing, a hobby I think she'll enjoy (I believe I was right) and it has been pleasing to have her waiting for me when I come home from work each day.
And then we get to the weekend and the first Saturday --the first _day_ really-- in a few months where I haven't needed to set an alarm or be anywhere by a certain time. And oh, today has been _lovely_.
I got out of bed briefly around 7:30am to feed Nessa (who I am still catsitting), figuring that normally she would've already eaten well before and it was maybe a little mean to keep her ~starving~ much longer. But then I could thump back into bed and sleep another three hours curled around my partner.
We woke up more leisurely together, and snuggled a bit and then I decided to Make Pancakes. This plan was very briefly stymied by discovering Catlandia did not have any All Purpose flour (or indeed...any flour, except for like half a bag of super fancy whole-wheat gluten-free flour). I did find a large container that clearly normally held flour, so off to the corner store we went in pyjamas with coats over them, quick quick.
I wound up making lots and lots of very tiny pancakes, which was quite fun, and worked well with our large variety of toppings. We finished eating and cleaning up at about one, which meant it was Time For Work. Tuesday has a paper she's finishing for class, and I had...well, I had some fucking around and trying not to think about death, and then some dance stuff once I finally actually got focused.
So we spent a large chunk of afternoon like that, and then after a couple hours, we spent the next large chunk of afternoon cuddling against each other and playing video games together. We played a round of Ticket to Ride (note to self: it is downloaded on my computer now and I enjoy it, keep at) which I _smashed_, full doubling her score. It helped that I could spend my very last turn grabbing extra tickets, and got two 20+ ones that were pre-punched for me.
She also got me to download Plants Vs Zombies: Heroes, which is different enough from PvZ to not make me have weird irritated "this is Not Right" feels, but close enough to take advantage of the nostalgia. Theoretically we can play against each other at some point and she can kick my ass, but we haven't had a chance to try that yet so I've just been playing my way through the solo levels.
For dinner, Ezri had invited us to come join them, Rey, and Minerva for dumplings and other Chinese from MuLan. Yesgood! We drove over to Minicatte (yes yes, I know, but the weather was so gross and I had to bring some gathered presents over anyways --these are things I will pack up and bring to Texas next week, that had wound up at housesitting instead of proper home). The food was ordered, then arrived, and tasted fantastic.
Post-dinner, Rey went off for quiet time, and the other four of us dumped out a puzzle to work on. It's one of Ginda's incredibly nice wooden ones --the pieces are so satisfying and they smelled absolutely divine. We worked well together, and the puzzle was finished at about 10:30, which was a good time to say our goodbyes and make our way back to Catlandia to reassure Nessa that we were not dead forever.
Before we left, we glanced at the games shelf and Tuesday expressed curiosity about Pyramid Arcade. It's been ages since I had a good pyramid play, so I grabbed it and brought it home with us. When we got here, I explained how to play Zendo and we played three very satisfying rounds (me mastering twice in a row, then her). It was a lot of fun to get to lean on each other and arrange pyramids and play a Logic with each other.
Then sleepy couch cuddles, now words, and soon bed. What a wonderful restful day.
