Today was the very last day I needed to be in the school building (which of course means there's at least two small things I need to drop off tomorrow before I am *done* done, but I digress).
I cried a bunch and took some final photos of my office (they're on Twitter) and then determined that I was going to take the long way home and take pictures of nature. This was a good decision! You can see the results right here:

It's a heron, probably! I went galumphing into the woods, after finding a likely spot, and suddenly froze because this magnificent beast was posing quite nicely in the river. How lovely! I sat and took a bunch of pictures of it and its friends.

SO MAJESTIC

...until it starts galumphing along and then it looks like a right doofus. I approve.

FRANDS!

Weird matrix glitch that accidentally gave me two of the same birb

Single Judgement Birb

Then a corvid-like object showed up and was all like "witch please, I am way cooler than that galumpher".

Which worked great until the corvid decided to be TOTALLY GOTH.

I also saw about ten of these birbs, which I am going to take a wild guess are red-winged blackbirds, but did not manage to get any good pictures whatsoever.

Please stretch out your browser window until these three photos are presented as the most perfect triptych ever to grace your monitor.

I saw a mama-duck and some ducklings

...and got a fun action shot of them rapidly paddling away from...something.
That is all the birbs, but I also saw a...

Chipmunk!

Turtle! (because it doesn't even matter anymore if I'm with jere7my or not when I'm out in about in the world, I'm gonna find a turtle.)

Flower!

Dragonfly!
"Sor, I've seen you take way better photos of dragonflies" Yeah, but not from TEN FEET AWAY OKAY. I am not exaggerating that distance. My weird little shitty point and shoot is occasionally AMAZING.
And I'll put my favourite photo from today outside the cut, because that's how I do --I caught a sneaky chipmunk hiding behind a chunk of wood!

It was a good adventure. I feel good.
