HEY MARYLANDITES.

So, the deal is that I come back on the 22nd of May, and I will be in your wretched state until at least the 2nd of June. In that time, I demand a FUCKING AWESOME game of Blind Tag and/or Marshmallow War. Bring your blowguns (or take the dregs of ours if we still have any) and the fight shall be on.

When would be good timing to do this? Midweek is better for me, because Balticon. YMMV.

Also, if you _desperately omfgwant_ to see me, you should drop me a line telling me things like schedule. Or you should just come to Balticon, it will be easier for all parties involved.

AND THAT'S ME!

Time to go have adventures in the city and spend all my spare change on bus fare. Ta!

MOOP!

Pee-Ess: Remind me to tell you guys about the awesome bike ride I had. It involved going the two legs of a rightish triangle rather than the hypotenuse. And riding down Alewife Brook Parkway, which was lovely, and then from the start of Mass Ave all the way to school. And basically that's the whole story. Besides the fact that I am A) apparently my mother's daughter and don't get freaked out when I'm lost, but way more awesomely B) apparently my grandmother's granddaughter, and when I do get lost, I have the power to say "I'll go that way! It looks right!" and come back to where I'm meant to be. I'm awesome.

Double Pee-Ess: It doesn't count until the grades are all in. I'm not going to talk about it until then.

Don't know if we could make it for the Blind Tag or Marshmallow War (though, it'd be loverly if we could) but i still would desperately love to see you before you vanish for the summer, somehow. i don't suppose you could sneak down to Durham for a weekend oslt? Probly not, huh. Right selfish of meus to want to have you all to ourselves for that long >.>

Butyar, i'll poke W with the notion and maybe something could happen. *hopes*

You come from a long line of awe-inspiring people who do not freak out over getting lost.

Enjoy Maryland--or, at least try to endure. On behalf of the state, let me say that we have very much enjoyed having you here, albeit temporarily.

It is just so beyond me how anyone can love Mass and hate Maryland.

If not for my admittedly very weighty and worth-it fetters, I would be outta here and back in the DC/Metro Area in a heartbeat.

Being a migrant from DC-Metro to Boston-Metro, I love both. But I also lived within the region of MD (and then DC) where public transit was actually a viable thing. I adore the DC sense of humor, the theater scene, the metro that stays open to reasonable hours, all the museums (there seems to be a lot less free entertainment in Boston, or maybe I have yet to find it), the parks. But Boston is so much more walkable, much more of a town for a city, has better music and dance scenes, and has the critical mass of Everyone Ever living in it.

But give me Maryland weather any week of the year...It is ridiculous how much my joints creak this far north, there's no sakura festival, and it is already May I have yet to see local asparagus in the markets.

I totally hear you on all of that stuff. I understand that the music/dance scenes are better for folkies and rock fans, but since my folk ties are all in DC and I listen to electronica (which nobody on the east coast gives a good goddamn about), I don't experience that myself.

The Everyone Ever factor -- and LARPing -- are basically the reason I moved.

I also lived within the region of MD (and then DC) where public transit was actually a viable thing.

Gotta say, though, this is just as much a thing in Mass as it is in Maryland. Mass is pretty huge, and once you leave the Boston/Cambridge snarl the state ceases to be very walkable or public transit accessible.

And yes, the weather. I can deal with the humid, hundred degree in the shade days if it means not having to tolerate WEEKS of depressing cloud cover.

I don't do much electronica myself, but to judge by the Weekly Dig there are house/electronica/dubstep/crunkflop/fwitpoot events by the bucketload in Boston. (At least, it seems like I'm always reading about them.) This week they're touting Dyed Soundorom at Phoenix Landing.

The impression I get is that the Boston music scene (including the electronica scene) is trying to undergo a Renaissance, with festivals and cross-promotion and such, but whether that's a real happening or just self-delusion I'm not equipped to say.

You are a fine individual, but we all have flaws. I am not inclined to give in to demands made by people who call my beloved state wretched.

The 4th of June is when I arrive in Maryland. We are not overlapping our time there, so alas, no Marshmallow War for me. ...Unless you want another game in Boston.

I might be around. Maybe. Wednesday is not a good day, since I'll have ponies. Otherwise, I really have nothing. You're welcome to see me with ponies.
