This isn't going to be every post. It's just going to be a handful of important posts and snippets from the last twelve months. Ayep.

2010 in Review:

January

*I took a Big Step and told my mom one of the big bad secrets in my life. She was cool about it. (Filtered post)
*I made a post detailing the songs of 2009 that I had found particularly affecting. (Yes, I'm going to do it again this year, but it's pretty much just going to be "Bad Romance" written sixteen times or something.)
*I wrote about meeting one of the minor goddesses in my world
*I went to Arisia

Offjournal, I started dating Sparr (Arisia was our first date).

February

*I wrote about meditation through sensory overload, and I wrote about crying a lot
*I was an angry feminist, at a very stupid conversation with an otherwise sensible friend. I'd like to think he's gotten a lot better about listening when I say "we need to not talk about this" since then.
*Our room had a mouse. I freaked out.
*I hosted my annual thirty-one words or fewer porn writing contest. Which, bee-tee-dubs, fourth annual will be in February. You can start writing before then if you'd like, I don't mind. (Link NSFW, obviously)

Offjournal...Offjournal, Marc told me he and Keira would be moving to Florida in May, and staying there a year or so. This made the next several months...interesting.

March

*I went to NYC. I love that city.
*I wrote a long post with a lot of footnotes about intimacy and introversion.
*And a much shorter post with fewer footnotes about a thing I regret
*And an entirely perfect post about an entirely perfect last waltz.

Offjournal, I went to PAXEast, and had my clone visit, and stopped liking Amanda Palmer, and walked five miles in the dead of night in order to make something stop hurting

Offjournal, I started writing 750words. Every day I could manage. 254 since then.

April

*I officially stopped thinking about one of my deepest darkest as a secret, and started thinking of it as a closet.
*I talked about music that is hopeful and the use it has in bolstering my mood.
*I gave a flower to a stranger, and he gave me a song in return.
*Danced the male role in an SCD dance while a cismale danced the female role.
*Celebrated my school being a part of the Clothesline Project. with hatred.

Offjournal, I fake-orgasmed like a pikachu, also did some less interesting things at Anime Boston, had a Very Important and Distressing CONVERSATION with someone I need to talk to more (and maybe Talk to more), made friends with Dog, entertained a visit from Sparr, started to make friends with Rackle, and went to NEFFA, where I didn't kiss anyone at all, and felt very happy about that.

May

*I speculated why people seem to like me so. It is a thing I must face: I am That Girl. So long as I can remain kind, I think I'll live with that.
*I started my occasional project to add more photos into this journal by writing Half-Naked Thursday posts, which almost never fall on Thursday, and tend to be a metaphorical rather than physical nakedness. Very disappointing, I know.
*I started reading and promoting the hell out of Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.
*I wrote a camera policy for cons.
*I wrote one of my favourite posts that you can't read
*I posted a Just Gorgeous picture of myself, all big wide eyes and soft freckles.

Offjournal, I helped Marc pack the moving van and leave forever, and began my nomad summer adventure. I also drove from MA to MD for Balticon, which was...interesting.

June

*I determined that I am not as good at things as you think I am, but I'm flattered by the compliments anyways.
*I did some cooking. I wrote some notes to hopefully refer back to the next time I cook.
*I wrote a post titled "Brought to you by blood-spewing theatre", which is a great title. Dark post though.
*I snuck out to the middle of a lake in Vermont, by canoe, in the middle of the night.
*I started asking one of my favourite "get to know you" questions
*I went to Origins, and even wrote a con report!.

Offjournal, I went to Atlanta for a bunch of days, which was _so good_, had a family reunion for my grandparents fiftieth anniversary, and started writing Sundries posts every couple of days.

July

*Went to Chicago for the month, which was boring and therefore involved a fair amount of posting.
*Balanced the flowers in my zen garden
*I hit the 100000 word mark on 750words. Sometime this month, I should hit the 250k one. Glee.
*I took what may be one of my favourite pictures of myself, despite being terribly done and with a crappy webcam.
*I danced on my grandmother's grave
*I came to an excellent conclusion about clothing, and I came to a much better understanding about cooking(read the comments linked).

Offjournal, I revisited a childhood memory, and didn't go to Pinewoods. I also went to the MSI in Chicago, and spent much of the next month attempting to live there.

August
August was huge.

*Went to Cedar Point, had Har and Wooze visit, got my wisdom teeth out, celebrated my 21st birthday, made a public service announcement about Sonic Screwdrivers, and talked about my hair.
*Wrote some words about being poly and wrote some words about how I don't think my private life should matter to future employment
*Ranted at women who somehow think it's okay to grab my breasts (and I swear to Athe, if this ass does anything to me at New Years, I am going to scream bloody murder and make her suffer. Because I am evil, and please never forget that.)
*Oh, and that 750words thing? So, August was the first month I wrote every single day. It's probably worth noting that I've also written every single day of September, October, November, and December (so far) too, huh?

Offjournal, I drove to PA to visit friends, started birth control, and changed around one of my relationships so that it was no longer merely good and instead something approaching excellent.

And the museum decided I couldn't live in it. Cruelty, I tell you!

September

*I read The Millenium Trilogy and had mostly good things to say about it.
*I changed my major to mathematics with a minor in education
*I GOT TO PLAY WITH A BACKHOE
*I continued to have a crush on every boy
*And I wrote about the fact that I kiss girls because I genuinely enjoy kissing girls and have a valid attraction to them.

Offjournal, I went to Dragon*con, so yeah, that was huge. Also, moved into my dorm, with Ria-the-best-roommate-ever, started casually dating (or trying to) a handful of likable people, and took up Modern Western Squares Dancing.

And I got a BIKE!

October

*Went to J. Cannibal's Feast of Flesh which was awesome. Not nearly as entertaining as what immediately followed, however.
*Wrote one of my most applauded2 posts, about flowers that will not die.
*Had my sexuality validated by my physics teacher
*Plotted revenge against my housemates
*And attempted to restart the dance geek code block thing, promptly being scared off forever due to OMGSOMUCHINTERNATIONALDANCE

Offjournal, I played One Eye Open through to at least three endings, went to Atlanta and to GMX, and went to the Regency Assembly. Also, Halloween!

November

*Went to NEWW
*Wrote a report on the fact that, yes, the TSA groping absolutely sucks, and is deeply uncomfortable in a lot of ways.
*On a much happier note, I wrote some Harry Wilhelm fanfiction
*And I danced in a nearly empty subway car, in the middle of the night.

Offjournal, I went to California, and to Maryland for Thanksgiving, where I met Veronica's boyfriend. Also, had the most amazing adventure with Austein. And I completely ignored NaNoWriMo.

December
*I used repetition as stability, and wrote on it and ritual.
*I talked about bettering my language, which is a theme I briefly revisited later
*I wrote part one of a (probably three, maybe more) part file about some of the more interesting quotes in my quotebox
*Ranted about dance, costume, and gender3
*And in filtered posts, I celebrated my favourite winter holiday, and wrote about an excellent Christmas present
*Oh, and I reviewed my entire year.

Offjournal, I went to a Quadrille thing, Sparr visited (<3!), had an excellent adventure with Brenton, and my parents were stranded in England. They made it back for Christmas. I celebrated Christmas, Magus showed up to visit (<3 <3 <3 <3 <3!), and there will be a New Years party soon...

I'll try and do my traditional year-in-a-sentence at some point in January, but I currently have Marc over, and the number of people (distractions!) in my life is just going to increase over the next week or so. eep.

MOOP!

1: There is no one. Nothing leads to this note. Sorry.

2: I do not usually have a very good sense of what posts will be a hit and what will not. But every comment I got on this (on the post or elsewhere) was good, and there were a lot of them. I feel it was one of my better writing accomplishments of the year.

3: I would like to keep a central collection of links to public entries my friends and I have made about dance, gender, and costume. I already have a personal version, with links to some private posts. If you are okay with me posting a link to your words, or have a public writing on the subject you think I've probably missed (hint, most of them), let me know!

i'd ponder doing a post something like this but i think i pretty much want to forget most of 2010. The bright spots (like getting to visit you and nurse you post-wisdom teeth removal) were far too few and way far between.

Instead, perhaps i should post my hopes for 2010. Or would that just be jinxing it? :P

. o O (and eeee, totally made the list in review *quietly squees to herself*)
