sorcyressSo, I've decided to do Yuletide, despite having little-to-no experience in the world of internet fandom, and a nearly debilitating fear that I will do Everything Wrong and make the entire internet hate me. Or inadvertently find myself in the middle of OMGDRAMA.
Allegations that I just want to grow up to be Racheline someday are...well, completely true but have nothing to do with this. I just really like the concept of the Yuletide project, and anything that has a chance of getting me middlefic is a thing that I fully support.
Anyways. Dear person-who-is-writing-me-a-fic (Yulegoat? Why are you a Yulegoat? Oh dear, already this makes no sense!)
Hello there, lovely person who is going to write me a story! You are _super super nice_ and I just want to say thank you and also glee! about the fact that you are going to write a story just for me! That's really really cool.
I've never done this whole Yuletide thing before, and I'm not a huge fandom person (though I enjoy both writing and fannish things) and really, I'm quite concerned I am going to freak you out or something. futuresoon, since she seems to be pretty savvy about this whole fandom thing2.
First off, and most importantly, I am honestly super-excited that you want to write a fic for one of my obscurish fandoms. That is the long and short of it --any awesome thing you write is going to make me really quite pleased. I go into a lot of detail, but that's because I naturally have a tendency to talk to much --sorry if this makes wading through the post difficult.
I do not expect you to (Or WANT you to) write anything you're uncomfortable with, be that gen or explicit or kinky or whatever. These are just...suggestions, I guess!
So, I basically have four requests --two of them looking for a girl and her father fluffy-happy-fics, and two looking for dirty dirty porn.
For the girl and her father, all I really insist is that the characters be as true as you can make them, and that there not be a sexual component. I would get really uncomfortable reading about DubDub and Peter Watson (from Middleman) or Alexis and Richard Castle (from Castle) having any relationship that wasn't platonic and familial.
I prefer happy, but I recognize the potential for good sad/melancholy stuff, especially in DubDub's case. I really want strength/support/taking care of each other more than DubDub's abandonment issues or Alexis's having to be the mature one in the family.
And if you were paired with me because of Middleman, seriously, write what you'd like. Dubbie and her Father would be wonderful, but I love MM3, I ship MM/WW crazy hard, and anything with DubDub and Lacey being silly and friends makes me smile with goofy glee.
Now, for the porn!
In general, things that turn me off are dishonesty, misogyny, superiority (esp. kinkyfolk thinking they're superior to vanilla or vice versa), humiliation/degredation, breathplay/choking, noncon or dubcon, and failing to do the research on a sex act or toy.
Things that turn me on are genderswap, mad science, electricity, rope, creativity/pervertibles/"everything in this room is a sex toy", and some other stuff I probably shouldn't talk about in a public journal. I tend to be pretty open with regards to kinks and fetishes --if it is turning the characters on, it is probably turning me on!
Specific for Narbonic, I would love any arrangement at all of male and female Helen and Dave (but I have a soft spot for the story behind Dave's line "I'll never get to have lesbian sex again!!") and I would adore you forever if you throw in some plotonium and a handwavium device and have some sort of bizarrely silly and impractical mad science experiment aspect to it.
Specific for Spy vs Spy, there is a term of "nosefap" that a friend coined, that you should totally use if you write me SvS smut. And regardless of explicitness level, it would be superkeen if the white spy came out on top of the machinations. (Aforementioned friend and I used to spend many a happy hour quarreling about which of the two was better)
Again, I hope this wasn't _way way way_ too long, and I hope you're not utterly freaked out by me or whathaveyou and I hope the plot bunnies go forth and multiply and you can catch a nice one and write the story easily! Also, I hope you find a five dollar bill and can buy a nice coffee somewhere.
