Just a quick thought:

For a good long while now, I have been thinking in the back of my head about creating an actual difference between the journals kdsorceress and sorcyress. The former would continue to be what I use pretty much all my journals for --random life dumping, thoughts, silly questions, quotes, and occasional really good writing, while the latter would be restricted to just what I consider the "good" writing --things like my essays, stories, occasional forays into emo poetry, etc.

The entries on Sorcyress would probably be mirrored on kdsorceress, though not vice versa. It would pretty much be designed to give people a chance to skip all the babbling about my life, so they can cut straight to the things that will hopefully inspire discussion. It would also hopefully guilt me into actually writing more essays, so I could have content over there.

Thoughts?

If you want to encourage discussion, mirroring may not be the best solution—it will split up the conversation. You could just put a link in kdsorceress to the sorcyress entry, though, which would keep all the comments in one place. Or mirror the whole entry, but disable comments, and still have a link (which would make it easy for people to just read one or the other).

I will continue to enjoy reading all your babbling, of course, but it does sound like a good way to get yourself to write more.

I agree with BDan that having discussion in one place would be better than two places (an came in expressly to suggest the "post a link in kdsor and the full post on sor" idea).

Thirding BDan's suggestion about comments. Having all commenters in one location increases chances of interesting discussion.

I would prefer all of Sorcy in one place, both the living and the thoughtful, because double the Sorcy is (to me) double-confusing - I have to remember which you is which. You're _all_ good stuff as far as I'm concerned. Also, I'm a skimmer/scanner: I'm more likely to read whatever's in fron of me, and much less likely to follow a link elsewhere unless it's exceedingly well labeled.

But that's me.
