The favorite person of the day1 is Thorog.

Because he's a horrid cynical orc, and he taught me more HTML. And now I will abuse it mercilessly! BWAHAHAHA!

HTML is fun though. You can make things bold or italicized or underlined With a little bit of attention, you can learn how to strike things out.

You can make cuts, and save space! Or you can do things like say [livejournal.com profile] thorog is awesome!

And then there are links. You can link to other pages or, if you're talented, the same page

I've also recently learned how to make text bigger or smaller. All I need now is a quick way to do colours, so Gabriel and Alis can talk faster then me playing copy-paste with the sticky pad.

And of course, as I just learned, you can do this.*

So that's my day so far. Off to have a quick shower, then RUNEQUEST! Yay!!

MOOP!

1: By far. By FAR! And it's only noon.
*: This being making little subscript links

EXCEPT! Your linking HTML is wrong. You have to make sure you put in an http:// in your a href="...." or else the link goes to a different page on the site the link is on.

For example: Hover over the first link you wrote up there ("links"). You probably intended the link to point to http://www.google.com. Instead, because there's no http:// in your a href="..." , it links to http://www.livejournal.com/users/kdsorceress/www.google.com.

The proper format is < a href = "http:// www. google. com "> links < /a > (minus all of the spaces except for the one in [a href], of course).

And if you're really a clever bastard like me, you can write up such examples with the creamy goodness of amp codes! Thus, her proper format becomes <a href="http://www.google.com">links</a> (with no need to cut spaces, o'course)

Shhhhhh! You're ruining my HTML-god-ness.

I never was able to remember those codes. &%20 is the only one, and even that is pretty useless in this case.

&gt; and &lt

Except for that I had to type &amp;gt

And for that I had to type &amp;amp;gt

etc. ad nauseum

Oh, and I recommed bookmarking the E2 HTML Symbol Reference (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=HTML%20symbol%20reference) for html symbolic goodness.

...

I'm lost. Explain that one to me again?

Hey Kat, d'ya think Tho will ever catch on to your plan of making him teach you everything there is to know about HTML and physics via the interwebs?
Shush! Don't tell him!! And I don't think he likes being called Tho.
Well, how would you know?
Just call it a wild guess.
Ah. THO!
Are you TRYING to draw attention to yourself?
It's all Zaphs fault, I swear.

I think the last two panels of this strip (http://www.crfh.net/d/20050510.html) sum up this situation adequately.

Except for the soul cat. And Satan. And having friends like April and Diana and Mike. And Roger.

Although I do look a bit like Dave.

Goddamit, now I want a "Pimperor" shirt.

Well, I followed that. But then again, I am hopeless.

Do not follow my path. All coolness forsake, ye who follow!!

This:

font color="red" /font

bold writing makes the colors easier to see!

There's a way to do colors with hexidecimals too, but I don't know it well enough.

To do fonts in hex, you want something like <font color="colourcode">, where colourcode is a series of three hex numbers from 0 to FF, indicating red, green and blue.

OK, I'm finished playing now.
