So, as you may have gotten from my status messages and general high stress level, it's HELL WEEK!!

So today's content free friday is devoted to some random questions about theatre.

[Poll #1169750]

Enjoy, kids! I've got to go yell at actors or something now.

Theatre is the place you go to see a play. Theater is the place you go to see a movie.

Fascinating. The Center Theatre is where i went to movies when i was growing up. It's a surplus store (closed) now.

I use the re/er difference to mean the live vs. canned entertainment, too.

Your "how long" question does not allow for the possiblility of "a few years, but in absolutely no relation to schools of any sort".

The closest I've been to trodding the boards has been in front of a projection of RHPS. Does that count?

i don't remember Measure for Measure, but I was pretty sure I'd read all of Shakespeare's plays by 11th grade, so know I feel like I need to go back and refresh my memory.

To expand on favourite musical - I'm in love with the music for Crazy for You, because I love Gershwin and would consider having his babies if it weren't for the fact that he's been dead a rather long time at this point and that would be really really creepy. Having said that, I must say that I don't find the musical itself that spectacular. And I've seen far too few musicals performed on stage to have a better choice.

As always, I'd like to add to my answers. (You should really include text boxes after all the radio buttons and ticky boxes, and really, there should be no radio buttons at all, only ticky boxes!)

For me, "theater" is the physical space, and "theatre" is what happens inside it.

I was a part of the LR theatre program for exactly one play, in the pit band for Sugar.

I don't know enough plays or musicals well enough to really have a favorite.

From what I understand, theatre is the medium and theater is the space.
