I can't choose the first or third options because I'm Orthodox Jewish. Luckily, I'm a Math Major, so I find the second option rather appealing.

Nope. For women, it's slightly less of a Bad Thing than for men... for men, it's prohibited by the Torah (which comes from G-d, so think of the proverbial lightning bolts). For women, it's prohibited by rabbis (which are given power to make prohibitions by the Torah... it's one level removed, so there's a teensy bit of leniency in some things that are prohibited by the rabbis, in certain situations, but I've never heard of this being one of those things). So, practically speaking, it's prohibited for both sexes.
