Jun. 2nd, 2015 06:42 pmI haven't made a calendar post in _forever_, but I realized that despite talking about my plans to lots of individuals, I have not made any sort of public indication of what I'm up to this summer. It's gonna be SOMEWHAT INTENSE and probably hilarious and certainly exhausting. I have not even begun to solve the logisticy parts. I am trying not to be stressed about the "but what if I can't find anyone in the general Seattle area to take me in and I wind up on the streets and die".
(I am not actually stressed about it, because if I cannot work my wiles somehow on some subset of Niko, K, Brenton, SCDAlex, and the entire subset of Pinewoods Seattlites, then I am no longer fit to call myself a Slytherin.
Amusing sidebar: I almost typo'd that as "Slut-herin" which is fucking hilarious and may be my new favourite fake house.
Anyways, yeah, I'm not going to wind up on the streets of Seattle. For more than a day or two, at least. ;) )
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS KATARINA WHIMSY:
June 20: Candidate Class Reunion Party! I will be in Stow the whole day, swimming (assuming it is warm), dancing, and hanging out with my dance family. Sorry to anyone else who has invited me to things that day or the night before.
June 26-28: New York Faerie Festival, probably. I haven't done any logistical work on it --I have until about the 15th to buy my frantic "YES I WANT TO CAMP HERE THANKS" ticket, and I should work on rides and such earlier, but yeah. S00j is playing, that's important, I've never been to a FaerieFest, I think it'll be a good time.
July 3-5: PicniCon! I mean, luckily this is local (It is hosted by the ever-awesome![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
balsamic_dragon and anu3bis, neither of whom I've seen since the Endless Snows), but it's still a thing that's gonna eat my weekend. Maybe I will do something fireworksy or stupid on the fourth. Last year I attempted to get struck by lightning and then drowned! Lauren helped, it was a great time.
July 6-18 Pinewoods dance camp. Heh. For those playing along at home, that's ESCape (English-Scottish-Contra session), Scottish I, Scottish II. I have never gone for so long. I may die. I have no idea how I'm going to keep up with my words. It's going to be fucking amazing.
There will be a brief break in which I frantically work for Chris and Asmadi Games (as well as anyone else who'll hire me --seriously, I'ma need work-- and then it's time for...
July 29-August 2 or 3 ...GenCon Indy! The end date is wibbly because I don't know exactly how I'm getting from Indy to...
August 2 or 3 to August 12 ...Chicago! Where I will hang out with mum and try to help her do last minute Dragon*Con costume prep and work on getting rid of papers from my room and who knows what else.
August 12 to August 26 I will be in Seattle! Okay, that's slightly a misnomer, because from approximately August 18 to August 23 I will be doing tech work at Sasquan (which is this year's WorldCon). But outside of that, I will be fucking around the Greater Seattle Area, which covers from wherever it is exactly K and Tamra live (a few hours south of the city) to...the rest of the city, I guess. I am sehr excited.
AND THEN I COME HOME AND SLEEP FOR A DAY STRAIGHT AND THENNNNN...
August 28 is my BIRTHDAY and I am hosting a barefoot ball in the backyard. I have done no work on logisticating this (great birthday present: help with that), but damnit, we have this giant backyard, I'm an official dance teacher now and a much better waltz teacher than I was six years ago, I know a giant heap of dancers, COME DANCE IN MY BACKYARD.
Especially since 26 is Sorcy!canon important (being a multiple of 13, and all, and therefore goddess-touched).
AND THEN....
Well, nothing, actually. Presumably the school year starts and I go back to substitute teaching and being poor and frustrated. I may wind up going to the dawn dance over Labour Day, if I truly hate myself, or I may just say "fuck this noise" and sleep and attend Allston Christmas instead.
And yes, that's me. If you noticed I'm gonna be away from home for a full calendar month (plus two weeks in July besides), gold star for you! My roommates will stab you if you try to rob the place.
I have not nomaded so hard since, like...2010 or something, so it's about damn time. I will miss all of you who I won't see at these cons and things. I will be excited to see all of you who I don't normally get to see. I have managed to spend *surprisingly little* on flights for all this --I think I'm at under $500 for the whole BOS -> IND, MDW -> SEA, SEA -> BOS thing, which is pretty fucking good.
