Oh man, I have such complicated feelings about that last line, because you're not the first person who has volunteered to play for me, but also like...I think it's really really important to pay musicians and pay them well and I'm not sure I'm willing to compromise on that when I can't necessarily afford to do so, and could just use recorded music instead.

(I mean, the perfect world version is that my class brings in enough bonus income/donations that I can just afford to pay a musician well and I do that. But I don't know yet if I will have that, or have that consistently.)

I need to definitely sit down with a bunch of different musicians and get some perspectives on this.
