Dreamlog: Turtlewhales
Apr. 23rd, 2021 07:07 pmI woke up naturally today, which is always pleasant and fairly unusual. The end of the dream stuck with me, mostly because the imagery was, in multiple ways, fantastic.
Dad was driving the car someplace (possibly taking me to the airport so I could go home?) with mom in the passenger seat and me in the back. We get to the long narrow causeway that goes alongside/across the truly gigantic lake. And as we drive, I'm staring out over the water and see something breech.
My first thought was of course whale, but no, it's just a simply massive sea turtle. Dad sees it too and jerks the wheel a little bit as he shouts "look" which was briefly scary, but I mostly just couldn't keep my eyes off the creature. A sea turtle, the size of a whale, fully jumped out of the water and then plunging back in.
It was really beautiful and inexplicable and I don't know why my brain brought it to me (or why I woke up just after) but I'm glad to have gotten it.
