Braindead says hello!

sorcyressToday was the day grades were due, so (by necessity) I have reset my work-stress and can be much less stressed for a week or two until I inevitably get hella overwhelmed again.
Because you know what's basically not happening during a pandemic? Fucking grading is not happening and I don't really regret that. Like, I regret fucking around and doing so much passive consumption of mindless video games, but I don't mind that I'm not grading, I mind that I'm not doing fun video games, or social activities, or whatever. Grades are fake at the best of times, and hoo-boy, these are not they.
I'm a little salty because pandemics blow and I hate them and things have been really bad around this particular brainpan. Tomorrow, after I have slept more proper, I will feel better.
(To be fair, most of yesterday was _really_ good! I got a considerable amount of school-adjacent stuff done and it felt great. It's just...then I did weird fukky things to my sleep for the second time this week and everything is kinda brainwrecked now.)
Some other good things:
*I got to bike many miles today! (I am visiting Austin for the weekend, which is going to be very nice, but right now he's busily doing homework and I'm aforementioned brainwrecked).
*I bought dice on the internet and they arrived and I'm mostly happy with them. It was three sets from Heartbeat Dice. The candy corn dice actually turned out a little duller than I hoped, which is disappointing, but the rainbow dice have spectacular colouration, and the soot sprite dice are just unfairly adorable.
Did I need more dice? Absolutely not, but I really like clicky-clacky-math-rocks and I can afford to buy myself random unnecessary trinkets, especially from BIPOC-owned independent businesses.
*Yesterday I actually did all my work dailies, including catching up with the rest of the week. Of course, I didn't follow through to today, but again, fukky sleep.
*I've accidentally had a couple of nice conversations with strangers on twitter, buried deep within random threads. It is weirdly validating to just...talk friendly-like to strangers. God I miss making small-talk with strangers.
*Veronica and I are planning a party! It will be on Saturday the 13th and it will be a Presentations Party and you can find more info in the discord server, or you can ping me direct and I'll send you the FB invite or whatever. I'm looking forward to it, but need to work on my presentation, and also decide whether or not it's a good idea.
*I am running a porn-writing event and some people have sent me porn and maybe you're gonna comment with some porn? I should write some porn! It's good times, regardless.
*It's a cicada summer, and I am really _really_ hoping I will get vax'd early enough that I can maybe do a (still fairly distanced and masked) road trip down to Maryland and go walk around and look at bugs. This is 100% my plan for memorial day weekend if there is no Pinewoods (and therefore no work weekend), I'm not quite as sure when to do it otherwise. (I mean, June 6th would be classic).
*Also I gotta remember to buy an awesome cicada pride flag shirt from Racheline or maybe two okay look it's gay and it's also cicadas IT IS ALL THE THINGS I LIKE.
Also I want more gay shirts to wear to work damnit. I haven't quite been brave enough to wear my tshey shirt to stare down my boss, but it's on the list of things to do.
This entry is very commercial, but fuck it, it's not like I'm spending money on random food or other treats.
