sorcyressThings I accomplished today:
*Srs Conversations with mek. We are getting better at having those earlier (since there've definitely been visits when it has suddenly at the end been "OH AND BY THE WAY".) Also, plus ten points to both of us for realizing that the first iteration of the conversation was way too sharp on both ends, and we should save it for after breakfast.
*Rearranged all the icons on my phone, so now I don't know how my phone works, and also hopefully I can be better about different communication paths. Yay!
*Chores! Laundry and shower and kitchen cleaning and that sort of thing! Mostly driven by mek, but I got to help (carry things mostly) and keep company and that was nice too.
*Strut around like some sort of punk rock dweeb. It says many things about me that I went through my things and thought "ah yes, an MST3K kickstarter backer shirt. _this_ is the perfect punk rock t-shirt to wear with my spikey heels!"
*Also before shower and proper getting dressed I did some sort of lumberjack farm-dweeb wearing my flannel and the fake fur vest and my big sunhat.
*Had a TMC meeting. Did not _totally_ phase out during the TMC meeting, despite it being online (on my end, at least). Contributed some stuff. Announced offhand my intentions of running for TMC chair in July and not had people jump down my throat with "noooo, you'd be terrible" so that's a good start.
*Did phase out enough to get some _serious_ work done on my SCD lesson plans for March and April. The ideal thing to do is get your bandleader a program with two weeks to spare, and, uh, March is very soon. Anyways, I have a rough draft of ideas that carries me through most of the stuff on the Pinewoods level one formations list (and some of level two) which is meant to be what an "intermediate" dancer can do. We'll see if I can find dances that build in difficulty over the two months without punishing people who miss the earlier weeks.
Note to self, advertise proper that I am running this class and how I am planning to run it. :|
Anyways, I know what I'm teaching each week, but not the programs yet. Also there's a couple pieces of bullshit in there, like how 4/13 is listed as -and I quote- WEIRD SHIT WEEK HELL YES!
(whyyyy is 4/13 weird shit week? Because 4/13 is the weirdest damn day of the year and I will _absolutely_ dig out my Equus tank top to wear to teach because I am, absolutely, trash.)
Also got my hair braided and learned how to eat An Artichoke and watched Perfect Blue (anime thriller, TW for hella sexual assault and stalking) and News Radio and Taskmaster with Lee and mek.
It was a really good day! I am looking forward to tomorrow, which contains more chores and more dance-work and more hanging out with lovely people being lovely!
