You wanna know what I like about the future?

The fact that I can sit in the bathroom while my boyfriend is in the shower, and talk to him while playing on the internet.

(He is showering because I just shaved much of the hair off his head, and hair is EVERYWHERE. Boy has not particularly long hair, but man, there's a lot of it.)

In other news, I have not particularly accomplished anything for myself today, but I have been facillitating in a rather useful manner. And soon he will run off and I will focus on my own projects or something.

Additionally, he scored us each a pair of *awesome* red/blue 3D glasses that FIT OVER MY ACTUAL GLASSES. So we took a long walk down to Davis Square wearing those, and pointing at EVERYTHING. My favourites are the blank sign (that says "no trespassing", but only out of one eye) and all the pink tulips --which had amazing distinction between the two colours, both of which are awesome.

My other favourite part is going "it's in THREEEE DEEEE!" because I am a tremendous dorkface. Also, something something, Homestuck. It's fucking obligatory at this point, okay? I've never had any drive to put together a Sollux (The only trolls I want to cosplay are Scrounge Sisters and variations), but if I have boss THREEEE DEEEE glasses, I mean...why wouldn't I?

Okay. Now Sparr is shorn and I should go start setting my timer for flylady. Because then I will pretend to get things done? I have no idea.

My timer has been set repeatedly today and I have ALMOST finished everything on my list for today. I feel happy about this!

They are red+blue, and the most pure chroma glasses I've ever used. They have well over 99% filtering of the other colors. If you've never worn 3d glasses for fun...

The red side makes red-on-white and white-on-red and blue/green-on-black and black-on-blue/green stuff disappear. The blue side makes blue-on-white and white-on-blue and red/green-on-black and black-on-red/green stuff disappear. Both sides also have partial effects on mixed colors, so even if both eyes can see something it will look darker/lighter in each eye and sometimes the contrast will reverse between two colors. This only works perfectly for completely saturated colors. Pastels have some fraction of the other colors, so they only disappear partially, but things like colored LEDs disappear completely. The blue side can't read MBTA bus signs and can't see red traffic lights. The red side can't read red-on-white warning signs and can't see green traffic lights.

The other day _meej_ was giving me a ride home from dance, and we got to talking about the possibility of homemade matzah, and wondered if salt was an ingredient. And there was a brief pause, at which point I said something to the effect of, "Oh, right, we live in the future," and proceeded to look it up. (Verdict: it's optional.) The future is awesome.
