31 tabs open sounds like it's time for a sundries post, yeah?

*Interesting article talking about the new Spiderman through the lens of Jenny Swenson, a temporary alternate-universe Ironman. To wit, having a latino-black character? Suddenly gives a whole lot of latino-black kids a character who actually looks like them, which just doesn't happen.

*In Praise of Joanna Rowling's "Hermione Granger" series. There's a followup, too.

*My favourite post from the tumblr "Girls Love Superheroes".

*What Would Jesus Do If Invited To A Gay Wedding

*Dear Professor Shepherd: I am living the dream.

And if I ever decide to leave this place I call Home? Atlanta. Or Seattle. Or Portland. Or New York Fucking City. Or San Francisco. Or Christchurch, New Zealand.

I have solutions. You are never making me live in Columbia again, fates. We're on a strictly visitation basis.

*Warren Ellis's webcomic experiment, Freakangels, has ended. It is the next thing on my webcomics-reading list, after Homestuck.

(I love reading finished webcomics. It's nice to know that once you catch up, you're done. On a related note, 1/0, which seriously, I read about once every two years or so.)

*Shaenon Garrity (Speaking of amazing finished webcomics...) has started a new blog, to detail her tiki collection. That's entertaining enough, but then I read this weekend's post. In which there is an adorable comic about what Voldemort SHOULD have used for a horcrux!.

(As an aside, I love the idea of blogs devoted to showing off the cool things one has acquired. Once I have a proper living space, I might try doing so as well, because I do have some interesting things with interesting stories, like my aluminum cupcake, and my collection of dinosaurs drawn by webcomics, and the full story of my fantastic brass rose.)

*Cisgender news rewrites news stories about cis folk in the style of news stories about trans folk. It makes me laugh, and then it makes me sob.

*Super Mario based swing performance. Totally awesome. Special note to [personal profile] moon_hotel and [profile] saberwing

*And lastly, for anyone who needs it, a button that will make everything okay.

The silliest things make me go Glee! Like, having already seen any of your sundries before ;D

Andyar, was totally reading FreakAngels all along and really enjoying it. Feeling a bit Empty now that it's over & done with... Pondered getting the dead tree version at Rtizy 'cause i really liked it and he was all "You just really like Arkady" ;D You'll see what he means when you get around to reading it! *grins*

Rtizy had linked me the Cisgendered News thingy. i was the most amused by the "CISSEXUAL Carla Bruni shows off her baby bump as she finally confirms she's pregnant - despite being a woman!" and the bit about Rebekah Wade 'cause that's the affected name of W's evil ex-mil (she was born "Rebecca" but that was too redneck for her, apparently, and changed the spelling. She also speaks in a European accent despite being born and raised in Georgia. ;P) Andyar, i got enraged after i finished laughing. Hrar.

And lastly, i have to glee because W had shown me the Makes Everything Okay button... right when i needed it the other day when i was feeling so badly and you were being Awesome and stuff. (Less than glee was when i shared it on G+ and one of the more peripheral followers (a male knitter; i always love finding those!) got all cynical at me and i tried to explain and i was at a total loss as to what his last comment meant. :P)

Yeah, maybe that horcrux would have worked on Harry Potter. Harry James Potter-Evans-Verres would have shut up and multiplied.

Thanks for the Linkies!

By the way - I posted to Facebook the link to the John Shore blog post (http://johnshore.com/2010/10/24/what-would-jesus-do-if-invited-to-a-gay-wedding-2/) that you sundarized above.

I just got a call from a friend who saw it there. It made him Think All Day about his views on homosexuality. He goes to a very right-wing, judgmental, anti-gay church and he admits that he usually just follows along with what the crowd thinks about stuff. But this post made him think. And he's not sure what to think now - but he can't agree with his church totally, he knows that.

Thinking is a very good thing. Thanks for the link.
