sorcyress: Just a picture of my eye (Me-Eye)
[personal profile] sorcyress
So yeah, Marc and I were commiserating about how there are so many essays that we haven't written and posted to our journals yet. I believe my number is currently nine.

So far, none of the rapidfire entries have been a part of those nine. Neither will the next one. Tonight is just one of those postin' nights. I think I deserve it, after I just had a month where I made a grand total of fourteen entries. Fourteen! That's pathetic! That's less than half as many posts as days!

No, if I keep *that* sort of nonsense up, you'll start thinking that the Sorcyress is *not* hella verbose, and that just won't do.

At any rate, this is just a picspam post, anyways. You don't even have to read, just look at the shiny pictures:

I mentioned this guy in my Arisia post. He is FANTASTIC. He made a half pony half monkey monster to please you. But he gets the feeling that you don't like it -what's with all the screaming?

"This is his dry cleaning bill -FOUR sweater vests!"

Best. Captain. Hammer. Ever.

And here we have [livejournal.com profile] tirerim and [livejournal.com profile] herbertinc being adorable together, and recreating old WWII photos. WE WON THE WAR WOOOOOO!

I am so damn arty. This is what happens when you go to a school that is half an art school. You find yourself suddenly magically able to do art.

I jest, only because I have no delusions that I am magically somehow a real photographer. But I liked the shadows, and the lines, and the pairing of the rust with the bright curves of the "out of order" sign. This was taken somewhere in the Davis Square area. I'll give a hug to anyone who can go take a picture with the same hydrant.

And I was gonna do one more, but I decided to save it for the next big gender post. Sorry, folks!

Yay, pretty pictures. Yay, Sor posting way too often.

Hee, that hydrant picture makes me wish i had my camera so i could have gotten pictures of the Most Awesome snowperson i have ever seen in Durham... it was at least 6 feet tall, had a man's jacket on and pine-straw for hair!

Instead, my camera was accidentally and sadly left behind on my desktop after offloading pictures i took of my latest yarn endeavour.

Alas, for my need to show such things off!

I can't even begin to count how many of those I've got. Lordy.

I rather like the hydrant pic. And while [livejournal.com profile] fizzygeek (who has a BFA in photography) could tell you at length the offically-sanctioned process of becoming a "real" photographer, one truism remains: to get more good pictures, take more pictures. Not only does it improve the numerical odds (it's amazing how many people only pop off one frame when there's the possibility if a really good pic), but taking pictures is you you learn to take pictures. These days, with digital photos that have essentially no cost per frame, why not?

OMG the half-pony-half-monkey guy. So much happiness knowing he ruined a pony making a gift for me!
