Um, before anything else, it's worth noting that, for some strange reason, I have been tweeting from an hour earlier. Which is _weird as hell_ but whatever. Add an hour to all times exhibited.

Tweets are in italics, as always.

"Ow, you hit me in the face with pants! It's like being blinded by science but worse!!" #goodmorning #littlesister 5:49 AM Jan 14th from web

Wanna know what's awesome? WAKING UP AT SIX IN THE GODDAMN MORNING TO GO TO A CON!

Although it did mean I got to see Alys before I left, which was nice.

Note to self: 343. Also, hi guys, am in Boston. 1:22 PM Jan 14th from txt

It's the room where I was supposed to drop the @AsmadiGames stuff off. In exchange for this favour, I was given about a dozen Win Lose Banana decks, which I utterly forgot to give to people who rather deserve them.

Oh yeah, was gonna tweet this weekend. I'm at Arisia! Yay tech 4:31 PM Jan 14th from txt

Teched, teched more, hung out with Conor, snuggles with Brenton. Is fall over DED time now, yes.

Nothing exciting happened during tech, besides getting to see Brenton again, which was nice, and chatting and hanging out with other assorted people, which was just lovely.

On my way to find food, saw Nurit and Elevator Eric. Yay con! 11:07 AM Jan 15th from txt

Yay for both of those! I didn't get to hang out enough with either, but Nurit gave me some delicious cheese at one point, and Eric pulled me aside to give me some really good advice, because he's more or less aweso...amazing. (Whether he is awesome or not is up to the determination of the reader)

Do I play favourites? Only if you travel a thousand miles to see me. Or bring me a present of MAGNETS! 3:02 PM Jan 15th from txt

I am easily bought. 187 tiny gold SUPERDAMNSTRONG magnets is _cool_! You can build things out of them!!

Also, you know. Everything else. I believe the correct quote here is that "I'm lucky it's dark out, because I am utterly failing to conceal my smug little smile right now".

...look did anyone travel a thousand miles to bring *you* magnets recently? I think not! I have a very good *right* to this smug little smile.

I an investigating how I text. Also, is time for food! 4:03 PM Jan 15th from txt

I text with both thumbs, because I am a twenty something. So spake my mother.

What is mama bear's sleep number? 5:21 PM Jan 15th from txt

I can't really remember context. I think it had to do with me complaining that shouldn't mama bear and papa bear sleep in the same bed?

Watching Brenton do manly push-ups. Changed into a sexy short skirt and stockings. Gonna wander dealers row, soon. @Herbertinc says hi! 6:06 PM Jan 15th from web

@werewulfmom says hi too! SHE IS SUPER AWESOME COOL! And let me borrow a belt, which I really needed 6:07 PM Jan 15th from web

It was an extremely sexy skirt and stockings. I was quite scared of accidentally bending over or something. What I wound up in Saturday night was even more scandalous, however. Pics forthcoming when I do the pics report.

Phone charged, went to my first panel ever, gonna go dance like an idiot with many of the people I love best in the world 12:36 AM Jan 16th from txt

My phone uncharged for a while there. My charger is, in fact, NO LONGER PROPERLY WORKING! FUCK YEAH!

I'm serious about the first panel ever, thing. I have somehow, in three and a half years of cons, managed to not go to any panels. And no, I'm not going to tell you what it was about, which is how you know it was totally scandalous.

Dancing like an idiot was pretty fun --there was a j7y and a Brenton and a BDan and a Herbert and a Sparr (who did not dance and just took pictures and then introduced us to toys). It was an awful fun dancing --lots of trading partners and dancing by ourselves and wheeeee!

Friday evening closed with chatting for a good long while with a nice big crowd of people outside the con suite, and eventually going to bed.

Awake! Food is being attempted, there is an awesome half pony half monkey monster to please me, and awake. 9:20 AM Jan 16th from txt

Dude, it was pretty much the coolest costume I saw all weekend. Pics forthcoming.

There is a captain hammer here- carrying around four sweater vests! 9:54 AM Jan 16th from txt

Again, pics forthcoming.

Yay masque rehersal. I am so ducking psyched 11:04 AM Jan 16th from txt

Hint: I am almost never actually ducking psyched for masque rehersals. Especially when I am the tape slave. Even if the tape slave now gets to play with COMPUTERS THE FUTURE IS AWESOME!

God, I do so love having the voices in my head. 12:01 PM Jan 16th from txt

See, techs have this thing called clear-com. We use it to harass each other, snark that which needs to be snarked, and occasionally remember to actually call cues with it.

Apparently s00j induces panic attacks. Good to know. Fuck. 3:03 PM Jan 16th from txt

Seriously, fuck. But it's true. Her voice is gods beautiful, and she has been my sanity for six months now. I was in a very rough place by the time I sat down for her concert on Saturday, and yes, I did have a panic attack. It was a small one, but there was the shaking and not being able to stop and crying.

And I couldn't tell you a word of the song it was about, because that was second, so second, to the music.

Of course, it's probably the closest thing to a good panic attack I've ever had 3:04 PM Jan 16th from txt

Good in the not my life sucks way. Or something. Butyeah. S00j is bloody well POWERFUL, okay? There is a reason she is not entirely unlike a goddess in my mind. Because she _does things_ to me.

And the more done this dodecahedron gets, the more stable my mood becomes. This is power I should not be fiddling with, isn't it? 6:17 PM Jan 16th from txt

My family has old associations with dodecahedrons. Making them is powerful and dangerous. Destroying them is verboten.

The only modular piece I can make with origami is such. Take that as you will.

Note to self: Susan, motorcycle. 7:35 PM Jan 16th from txt

Yeah, this is a reminder that the MC of the masque said something about Susan de Guardiola and motorcycles. It sounds like an intriguing story. Or something to tease SdG about sometime, which is just as good.

Best kids costume ever- an UGLYDOLL! Also, that girl was totally on her hands 7:38 PM Jan 16th from txt

No, I haven't ever stopped being dearly in love with UglyDolls. They are huggable and yay! The girl was FANTASTIC and I wanted to give her a hug. Andyeah, the next entry was a kid who walked _halfway across the stage_ on her hands. Hell man, *I* can't reliably handwalk that distance.

The kamakazi kids costuming really was utterly fantastic this year, yeah.

Iron Sky. Research it? It has nazis. AND THE MOON! 9:07 PM Jan 16th from txt

So, during the masque intermission, they typically play previews for movies. I also got a chance to introduce mom to [livejournal.com profile] ladymondegren, which was nice. Iron Sky appears to be a movie in which Nazis take over the moon or something. It was a little unclear, and looked utterly ridiculous.

So that's apparently all the tweets for Saturday. More things happened --after the masque was all the way over, I wound up sitting in a pile of people in the lobby and hanging out and gossiping and generally having a good time of things. Also, electricity, which is *bizarre*

Eventually, [livejournal.com profile] jere7my nabbed me and was all "you did *promise* you would dance with me" and I was all "SHIT YES LET'S GO PARTY!" and we cuddled some, and danced some, and thrashed around some and generally had a nice time of things. --Among other things, I got to swing dance with [livejournal.com profile] vvalkyrie to "I Would Walk 500 Miles", which was rad (I see her more in Boston than I ever did when I was near DC, srsly).

Eventually it became jere7my's bedtime, so I went and put him to bed, and we chatted some about things both serious and silly (and I was paid at least one compliment that made me melt and giggle and generally be a happything, so yay)

After *that* I wandered downstairs, said goodnight to Brenton, and wandered into the consuite for a bit to harass Sparr, because that's a pretty good thing to do at six in the bloody morning. We snuggled and chatted and such, and finally he forced me to go up to bed, which was probably a really good thing.

Awake. Not anything else yet. Good morning! 12:52 PM Jan 17th from txt

Sunday started with waking up, packing like a crazy packing things, and going out to get breakfast with Brenton and JoshZed. From there, we went to the last S00j concert of the weekend, where I danced with Magus and Brenton, and said yarr a lot, and yes, cried. THIS IS WHAT I DO AT S00J CONCERTS, OKAY?!

But it was a better crying than the day before, and no panic attacks, and I was beginning to stabilize somewhat, which was good.

"This is more macrcme than bondage" 5:06 PM Jan 17th from txt

...

Somewhere, I'm sure, there are pictures of me from most of Sunday, where most equals approximately eight hours. I did ask the people I knew not to put said pics online, since, well, I want a job sometime.

The piece in question? A Just Gorgeous(tm) rope corset, made of lovely rough naturally coloured hemp that smelled like a stable (in the best way possible) and woven through with a pretty design, and oh, it was *nice*. I subsequently got an *awful* lot of comments, most of which I deflected with a pretty smile and a "I'll pass the compliments on to the artist"

Soyeah. Thanks again, Sparr!

(And yesyes, if you insist on seeing pictures, you have to come visit me. Or have been clever enough to have taken your own. Neener neener, and such.)

Also, while we're on the topic of quotes, "penultimate is the second best word in the English language" 5:08 PM Jan 17th from txt

It's subtle, but may just be my new favourite quote.

I love listening to geeks solve all the world's problems 7:40 PM Jan 17th from txt

This appears to be the last tweet from Sunday. Anyways, after I was well roped, there was some random chatting, then alas alack, time to bring Brenton home to NYC, which was extraordinarily sadface. (Stupid work)

I threw a shirt on over the corsetry, and we rode to the subway station, where we had a deliciously dramatic parting, full of great sorrow for all concerned. Because Brenton and I are the sort of shmoopy that makes single people hate everything ever. It is honestly astounding that neither of us has gotten stabbed yet, especially when we're on subways.

Riding back on the bus-shuttle to the hotel, I got to eavesdrop on a couple of geeks solving all the world's problems, which is terribly fun to do.

Sunday night! Sunday night, once I was no longer in the public eye, and therefore less afraid to prance about in a rope-corset, I went DANCING! The Malice in Wonderland ball was pretty much your average con-ball. There was either not, or I missed the grand march (which is a damn shame). I enjoy dancing, I less enjoy learning, but what-the-hell-ever, I started histori!dance at a con, so might as well be a gentlewoman to the rest of these folk.

After the dance, I wandered for a bit, spent an hour or so snuggling with jere7my out of the way of the world, and wandered some more. I finished up the night (morning) by being finally untied, and then suddenly becoming a demo model for Sparr to give an impromptu "rope and knots 101" in the middle of the consuite. ((Yes yes, there was nothing 'sudden' about it, he was gentlemanly enough to ask and such))

Eventually Magus and I wandered home, and slept. Soundly.

Woke up, threw up the complete lack of things in my stomach. Oh fuck, I knew I should have eaten better yesterday. #stupid 10:42 AM Jan 18th from txt

...yeah, that was a SHIT way to start the day.

Technically, it went something like "wake up, drag self to bathroom, down most of half a liter of water, puke, drag self to kitchen, put food in me --where food is a dinner roll and some cranberry juice, because I can't quite make the semblance of anything else--, puke, drag self to bed to warm up for a moment, wake up three hours later feeling much better, actually.

I do not recommend the "throwing up a bunch" start to the day.

Is it bad to recognize a building because I recall climbing on it? 1:57 PM Jan 18th from txt

Once I was awake for reals, and not feeling sick, I did head back to the con, for at least a bit. Which included walking past a building that, yes indeed, I have climbed on. It's very convenient for that sort of thing.

Note to self: remind @perel42 to bring his guns to Balticon 3:18 PM Jan 18th from txt

At the con, I more or less immediately wound up in a small pile of Sparr and Ian/Perel42 (who I know from Balticon, and more randomly, AnimeBoston) and the three of us chatted until like four thirty, when Sparr had to vanish, and so we split.

But Ian apparently has modified nerf guns. DUDE AND YES!

Alsoalso, have I mentioned that I am SO PISSED I lost the knife that's been in the ceiling of the Hunt Valley Inn? Because I am SO PISSED I lost that one. I SHED BLOOD FOR THAT KNIFE, DAMNIT!

"I look forward to becoming part of the problem" yeah, me too 5:41 PM Jan 18th from txt

This is, you know. Something someone said to me at one point, when I was busy being a stressy-emo-pants about having to be perfect for everyone I cared dearly about. I got better, at least in part because I got rather told off for worrying about everyone. Because oddly, people can in fact take care of themselves without me. SHOCKINGLY ENOUGH!

(Usually. Some of them. I also had at least one person specifically tell me that it was utterly okay for me to fret, since they needed someone to look after them sometimes.)

But yeah.

Concepts that NEED to exist: Mary-Sous-Chef about 22 hours ago from txt

This was from dance, Monday night. It has nothing to do with Arisia, except for, you know. Being *awesome*.

That's kinda what happened to me at Arisia. YAY!

Please do, if you get the chance.

How many units, and are they edges, faces, or something else?

30, they're edges. PHiZZ units, if you're familiar. here is one I didn't make.

(I have recently learned the name of this unit, due to a boy who is teaching me to make other things with them, like toruses and soccerballs and the like.)

Ah, I was going to email you about Sunday Night pictures - wasn't quite bloody obvious, since the shot I have of you is as part of the Malice in Wonderland dance, and is obviously at a dance. Will remember to take it out if ever I actually put pics up.

Sunday late night was fun. Glad you started the macrame demo.

The Malice dance . . . well, you were around when [livejournal.com profile] soong and I got sufficiently bored to start doing swing aerials. From what I hear of The Spanish Dance I probably made the right decision to bail :)

(Learning dancing can be far less painful when there's an assumed minimum Clue level and a teaching style that works with the people there.)

I would absolutely love copies of pictures if you're willing to send them my way, although yeah, not online would be nice. (I figure I can't save all the dance photos, but I also figure they're not full portraits of me, so it'll be okay)

*laughs!* Blame a friend of Sparr's who missed the official macrame demo earlier in the con, 'show I got recruited as a model. Did it go on long after I vanished?

Yeeeah. I'm not going to comment on the dance in a public fora. Assumed minimum Clue level (which you _just can't have_ at cons) does make a really huge difference, yes.

Well, from where I sit, when people post twit-digests, I go "eh, I guess you kinda had to be there", and skip them altogether, because the chain-o-twits doesn't hold my attention. Whereas what you did was bring one there with you, so it was not merely readable, but also neat.

I've no idea how much work it would be to do that weekly, but I certainly encourage you do it whenever you please. :)

seconded. I'd far rather read a bunch of annotated tweets than the ones that get autoimported, especially when the autoimports include tweets in reference to stuff that's not imported along with.
