We are not allowed to have hats on in school. Presumable this is because of some sort of negative factor of hat-wearing (such as it being distracting).

But we are allowed to wear hats on certain days leading up to important football games.

This would suggest that we normally don't get hats because they're just anal retentive bastards.

Any hats. They even have "themed" days where you wear cowboy hats, big hats, whatever.
