LEGO SPACESHIP!

Austin and I were deciding what to do tonight, and I suggested put together a LEGO set. So we looked through all my (many, whoops) unmade sets1 and decided on a nice one together.

After we dumped all the bags out of the box, I took a photo and said something like "there, not as nice as jere7my, but it's fine". Whereupon Austin insisted on seeing how jere7my sets his LEGO up when assembling, and immediately bullied me into doing the same.

It is a little MARS SHUTTLE set, because space is pretty great actually. I almost immediately grabbed Hack Rogers2 to hang out with me while we assembled, because that's her job. Partway through, we had what appeared to be a dinosaur holding a lightsaber, so they had to have a little bit of a spar:

(do not fight a lightsaber with a katana, gosh!)
The dinosaur turned out to be a really keen little mars rover. The rubber band around the jaws makes for a very nicely tuned grabber, and really adds to the overall look of the thing! Here is the astronaut feeding it some spare shinies.

Hungered, it is going for the geode (which is the coolest specialty piece I've seen in a long time --those two half geodes open up and have some shiny rock inside! It's amazing!!!)

Then it was time for bag two!

There are three bags total, and I am writing these words as we take a brief ice cream break between bags two and three. I quite like the shape of the shuttle so far (and that we kept calling the scoopy pieces "boat"
.
I'll try and edit this post with the finished product later! It's a lot of fun to play with my bricks, and I should remember that I have an unholy number of them to muck around with. Hack would like her castle to be rebuilt, among other goals.

MOOP!
1: Yyyyeah, I probably would've said I had "like, I dunno, 4-5?" unmade sets. It's much closer to a dozen. I should really MAKE MORE LEGO!
2: Hack is an excessively important part of SorcyCanon, she's my LEGO main character and the best ever.
