sorcyressRandom morning wedding thoughts:
*I did not use my real camera for even one photo, everything was taken on my phone which -to be fair- is a pretty decent camera. But I find it interesting how much my real camera is solely For Insects these days. I did have it in my pocket the entire wedding (along with my phone, a handkerchief, my train button every time it fell off, and later two kazoos. Sing ho for a dress with pockets!)
*I found that the modern destination wedding weekend (look, most of the people I have been hanging out with the most at this wedding are from the east coast including the new spousen, yes Bee's whole family is from here and it's where they grew up, but Tahoe is deffo a Destination) really wants a group discord channel or slack or something so that we can all communicate our plans and find each other at any given moment.
*My entry last night did not really focus on the fact that I found Sound of Noise to be a really stunning work of cinema. It's deliciously weird, it knows what it wants to focus on (percussion) and does so well, and the four movements are all...beautiful!
*I didn't mention in the entry, but I was masked the vast majority of the time. At NEFFA I got a bright orange n95 from ThomH*** and have been saving it for a special occasion. I picked the perfect level of special! I don't want to turn this into an entry about covid precautions, but I do want to normalize and note that there are people still wearing masks, staying near ventilated areas, and trying to be cautious.
*I took basically no selfies/outfit shots, but I just checked my phone and April did take a very cute photo of me next to the weird orange elephant at the venue, so that's actually a pretty good job. And I did get a quick selfie with the other person who _has the same first and last name as me_ which was incredibly weird. Apparently Phoebe's extended family shares my last name. Probably no relation, but I do feel we should be teasing Austin more often for his predilection for cousins.
*Actually most of my at-wedding shots are kazoo band being kazoo-goofy. Which is fine, because I also got two shots of the real wedding photographer. I do slightly regret not trying for a movie watching party group shot.
*Time to put on a sundress and go to brunch. I hear there will be leftover pie and I am very excited for that breakfast!

*Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the officiant at the wedding had a really delightful California surfer drawl, brah! (He did not actually slip professionalism enough to say brah, or to do a hang loose sign with his hands, but his cadence was spot-on to what this east coast fucker thinks of as a California accent).
*Also the catering staff was somehow the best-sense-of-humour I've ever seen? When going through the buffet line, I asked if I could get a bonus scoop of mashed potatoes (while talking to April behind me about how great mashed potatoes are). They said yes, and I told April "see, sometimes if you are nice, people will just give you extra mashed potatoes" whereupon April asked for a second scoop of mashed potatoes and was stone-face told "absolutely not" for a very funny half-beat. (April did get more mashed potatoes as well, and they were fucking delicious potatoes).
