What uppppp?

I have been doing a just decadent amount of lying about and doing nothing of concern. It is *great* and I highly recommend this lifestyle of actually relaxing occasionally, except for the whole "fucking capitalism" thing.

Mostly I've been playing a huge variety of games, which has been SO GOOD! Here is what I remember from the last few days:

Cribbage: Me v Charlie! I was losing the first three quarters of the game, but managed to pull ahead at the end and won the quarter that counts! This is potentially good practice for the Hogmanay afterparty, and we got to tell someone disbelieving (Shan?) that yes, Cribbage really is kinda just the calvinball of legitimate card games.

Splendor: I've played a few games and won none of them? I think won none of them, but maybe I won one. Charlie really likes Splendor, and since he's gone now I probably won't wind up playing much more.

Kingsburg: Me, mum, da, Charlie, Robin. Lost to Charlie by one point! Love this game, really oughten obtain a copy sometime (especially with the expansion set!) I mean, I don't really game enough to be worth it, but it is probably the best dice game I've ever played.

JungleSpeed: With Charlie and I believe Shannon. Trashed 'em, because yeah. Too small a game, but still fun. (It really benefits from at least 4 players, and 6 is probably about perfect.)

On the Underground: Me, mum, da, and Eric. Second place, after a game scoring ~35-45 points, where we spent much of the first 30 points in a 3-4 point spread. On the Underground is probably in my top five games ever, it's a track laying game, and the new edition (I finally own it!) is *beautiful*. It's been literal years (a half-decade plus) since I last got to play this, so I was *thrilled*!

[Singing game I can't remember the name of]: me, mom, Eric. Better dynamics around the gathering of cards, but one-hundred percent just "Kazoo Crazy minus kazoos". Kazoo Crazy is, of course, the hot new Pinecones Party game of last summer, in which you pick a card and the others have to name-that-tune as you kazoo away. This game was "you have a hand of cards" and "you can make any sort of vocalization that isn't actual words". It was cute and fun, and a good little party game.

Something I don't remember goes here? I don't think Skull was the first we played this afternoon? Oh! Spaceteam!! Spaceteam the card game, which is the best adaptation I've ever seen of a digital game to non-digital. We won the easy round, then got trashed two medium rounds in a row.

Skull: Me, mom, Eric, Fish. Bluffing game (Fish described it as "liar's dice minus dice"). I won in a stunning "okay well, if I don't win right now I won't get a second chance" last minute victory. Pleased to get it to the family!

Wordsy: Mom's most recent favourite word game. It is to Boggle what Bananagrams is to Scrabble, as far as I'm concerned, which is to say Boggle tends to be "more frustrating than fun" for me most days, but Wordsy is great and I really enjoy it. I came in second overall (one point above mom) but am calling a moral victory for having the single highest-point word throughout the whole game.

Kingdomino: Absolutely lovely little tile-laying game! Eric brought this one along, and it was lovely fun, and I would like to play it more I think. Has two separate dynamics (bidding/getting tiles, and laying them down) which play nicely together. If Anu3bis and BalsamicDragon don't already know this one, I'll have to find a way to bring it to them and the LionCub. Second place behind Fish.

Red Dragon Inn: Ridiculousness! Booze! Cards! Characters! Eric won, I believe, mostly because he kept praying the booze away. It was cute and fun, as Red Dragon Inn often is, and now I can go back to not playing this for a long time, as so often is the case.

There is Agricola one hundred percent on the docket (all three of me and Eric and mom LOVE it) and Fish requested Kingsburg so that's hopefully gonna happen soon as well. I have two more full days here in town, although tomorrow will have a bunch of hanging out with wabbit and Robin, so that'll be a different sort of fun.

Life is really good and no, I have not done any grading whatsoever. *shrug*
