I'm in a very similar place. I want desperately to care constantly and thoroughly about every single one of my students...and if I devote ten minutes to each student each week, that's an extra thirteen hours or so that I've used up on top of The Usual planning and prep and grading.
I went on vacation and turned off my brain and haven't gotten back to the burnout thing, but I will keep it on the backburner and maybe post more here if I come up with anything interesting.
