It is my birrrrrrrthday!
It has been a pretty great birthday! I celebrated first by going off to work in the banamines (which are currently the weird ass-kickstarter Mottanaimines), then by meeting up with jere7my to wander around Boston, and then to ice cream.
Other people celebrated by doing awesome things and going awesome places, and in once case, drawing me a comic where they stripped their protagonist half-naked. Yessssss good.
How did *you* celebrate my birthday?

*j7y and I went to see the Strandbeests on the Greenway. They were pretty cool, though not nearly as cool as they would be were they given the ability to walk under their own power. Alas, not enough space in Boston for such nonsense. But they were pushed gently along, and people could lean over and touch and examine them, and wandering up and down the greenway resulted in experiencing lots of other neat art installations.
*I had ice cream *twice* which was totally satisfying and also resulted in a broader range of people. More importantly, it resulted in a selection of people who were totally okay with the idea of stopping by for a little while, and understanding that they did not have to stay forever, which is super important to my continued not-being-stressed.
(I am all for people hanging out for as long as they're having fun, but as group dynamics and conversations shift, I recognize that not every person will have as much fun with every other person).
*One of the upsides was that I introduced
jere7my to
anu3bis which, in addition to being an entertaining pattern from a numerology standpoint, was a connection that REALLY NEEDED TO HAPPEN. Homygods, I never considered just how much this needed to happen, and should have. They're within two years of each others ages, both born in Jersey, and both ridiculously quick-witted, nerdy, and musically inclined. YEP.
(Next year I should bring jere7my to Picnicon, because I would loooooove to see what he would do with Encore)
*My birthday present from jere7my was two parts: The Fury Road art book (yesssssssss!!!) which is amazing and exciting, and a filk that he wrote and recorded to me. About being on the fury road, and set to P!nk's "Raise your Glass" and OHMYGOD YES GOOD!
I will put it all over on the internet later (read: tomorrow, and probably starting with Tumblr), I just have to get over all my pounds of squee, first!
*Now I am home and curled up and happy and snuggly and going to have happysleeps. Life is really quite lovely! 26 is a good age --it is 13 twice, and the only number that is one more than a square and one less than a cube. Be well, my darlings!
