Happy fucking fourth

kittikattie has regular Black Days, which are days in the year where she makes a point of dressing up goth. I've adopted the idea, and am only consistent about one day a year: the fourth of July.

This year especially, some memories and anxieties are hitting me hard, and I was miserable. So despite it being eight at night, and my not going out anywhere tonight, I took advantage of the distraction and put some effort into my outfit, and photographing it.

I think I did a good job.



This was the best I could do for my whole outfit. Black on black on black (with black accents)¹ is hard to photograph well.

Brief rundown, because I care (even though you don't): triceratops earrings, black eyeliner, dark purpleish lipstick (with absurd grape shimmer on top), red gem collar, ankh, fishnet shirt with intentional holes, bustier, black boyshorts, long black goth-skirt, thigh-high fishnets, big clompy shoes.



That red necklace is one of the few things I have ever bought on pure aesthetics. I saw it at Veronica's Attic one visit, and wanted it, so badly. I don't wear it often, but it sparkles in my jewelrybox and that's enough for me. Sometimes, I am frivolous, and I like that fact.



General prettiness. The shirt is supposed to do that. It's a little absurd.

And basically, the point of all this is that I am gorgeous and it doesn't matter that this holiday makes me anxious, I can still make wonderful things.

1: When doing fetish/kink, I try very hard to get some actual colour into my wardrobe, because I think the black-on-black-on-black TWOO KINKSTER thing gets dull. When going goth though, I have a strong tendency to wear nothing that isn't black, and very deliberately so.

And Glee! Black isn't a colour i care for generally (though, it can offset lime green very nicely :D), but you wear it well ^_^

From what I have seen, you often dress similarly now, too --like your spiderweb gloves, which are the most beautiful.

Clearly when I visit, we will have to plan to be all goth and ethereal and vampiric. I'd say we'd be sophisticated, but based on what I know of myself, and what I know of you, that seems...unlikely.
