Good things about today:

*It is slightly less, omgkillme hot.

*I have leftover pasta in the fridge, that I will eat soon.

*I went to a garage sale this morning, where I got a copy of the complete Weird Al Show on DVD, and also a Bikini Kill CD (helping mightily with my general conviction that I might secretly be a post-riot-grrl.

*Riding my bike is the BEST, especially because I can treat non-busy one-way streets as either-ways just by riding on the sidewalk. This is especially excellent when it saves me a dozen blocks of riding.

*I got a free Calphalon pan, that someone put on their porch and advertised to davis_square. It was a little dusty, but unscratched.

*I have less than five hundred things in my RSS reader. There will be more sundries sometime soon.

*DADT is being repealed, and Texas has voted in favour of textbooks with evolution instead of creationism.

*There is a multi-coloured stuffed elephant sitting on the floor next to me. Her name is Emily, and she is proof that I am an adult.

*Bad movies tonight!

*π-nerd is (almost?) back in town, which means I get to dance with him on Tuesday. This is makin' me be all "about damn time" because goddamn do I need that particular dose of mischief.

*Moniquill enticed me to stay up far too late last night, with stories of her haunted workplace and discussions of the school system and how awful it is, and also funny images on the internet. This is an excellent thing, and I need to do more of it.

*I am the luckiest little scamp on the planet.

*Hannah posted heaps of pictures from Pinewoods, including this awesome one of me doing Highland

And right now life is mostly good. <3

I read in the comments at Pharyngula (I don't know whether it's fact or rumor though) that the creationist proposal was full of typos and stuff, in which case there's no way the Board of Ed could approve it. So if that's true, potentially it's only a half-victory.

And Texas is kinda one of the Powers That Be about textbooks, so my general response is "hell yes!"
