sorcyress: Drawing of me as a pirate, standing in front of the Boston Citgo sign (bipolyhorny)

So, in my free time at Internship, I've stumbled back onto Sluggy.net, and been poking around there the last couple months. This was well timed, as I found a thread searching for experiences of queer folk to use as real-life explanations to their students. So I posted a bunch, about being bi and poly and genderqueer, because I had the time, and I like being a real life example of an omgqueerfreak who is actually just a pretty normal person who goes to school and work and dance and stuff.

In general, apparently it went quite well. However, there was this:

As expected, they did make a few boneheaded statements (I'm sorry, I couldn't help laughing when a kid told Sorceress to go off and live in the mountains, where at least the lions and bears wouldn't judge her for being polyamorous)

Not gonna lie, I lawled so hard at this, because hell, it's some freshman on the other side of the world, what do I care. And I'm pleased as punch that someone is teaching the real experiences thing.

Lions and bears, hee!

Just lions and bears? no tigers? oh my...

Tell them that someone who lived near where you do already did the "run off and live in the woods" bit, and write about it, a book called "Walden Pond". There you can read about his (non)experiences with encounters with lions.

I almost pointed the thread out to you myself, but I was glad that I didn't have to. And as always, it's good to have you back around the forums. =)
