asdf, Machine of Death is looking for submissions for the second volume. I have to find my notes (which I found the other day and then promptly lost again) and write that and _ohmygod_.

I will hit myself with a stick if I don't at least _try_.

Been biking to Tech Squares the last many weeks. It's an okay ride to --you have to deal with Harvard Square in a bad way-- but a magnificent ride from. By eleven or midnight when I'm leaving Squares (yes, it usually ends at ten thirty. There are people, and talking, and social, and origami toruses and discussion of skirts and pockets), the streets have quieted some, and the world is quieter.

Of course, I also almost got doored for the first time (it just missed me, and I let out an utterly undignified squeak) and an a-hole dissatisfied with how slow I was going in the block before my left turn roared around me across the double yellow line, honked his horn, and flipped me the bird, but besides that, it's a nice easy ride.

In _way more exciting_ bike news, today I biked to internship for the second time, in the hopes that there will not be a snowstorm on the way back this time. As part of this, I looked up directions on Google, to find how long the trip was.

My rule of thumb has been to add about three minutes for every ten to the Googlemaps time, because I don't bike nearly as fast as they want to --my bike is not a city bike (so no good gliding tires, and the frame is heavy) and I am still inexperienced and slow.

Googlemaps said 23 minutes to get from my house to the school. I left main campus (less than a minute from my house) at 7:17, arrived at the high school at 7:39. Booooooyah!

Lots and lots and LOTS of things going on this next weekend. Shlock Movies on Friday, Quadfest (possibly) on Saturday, spending some time with Alex before he _leaves forever_, possibly going on a bike ride with jere7my on Sunday (because the weather will be getting nice) and the Drag Show at school, which I'd love to participate in.

Then the following weekend, a friend I never get to see is in town for work (NTS: Make this work, dammit!), the HIghland Ball, Free Comic Book Day, Steampunk City, and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. Wheeeee.

And of course, I still need to do my classwork and graduate and find a job and an apartment and a job. Whuf.

So that's me. I've all but abandoned 750words this month (where "month" is defined as "since mid-February"). I'm gonna go catch up the flickr with screengrabs of each month, and see if that makes me a little more accountable.

Be well, y'all.
