As for the SATs well, as I recall, they weren't terrible and while the entire process of figuring out where to go/what to do can be challenging at best, you have tons of people who can help or at least be sounding boards so it doesn't have to be too daunting.
As for self hate, I can only hope that you on some level realize how incredibly self-possessed, intelligent, caring, and wonderful you are. You are well-loved.
