sorcyressSo, let's go with that ten things for christmas meme! I did it last year, and got...uh...well, let's look at that real quick. Lessee...I got seven. I didn't get two, four, five, six, seven, eight, and ten. I might've gotten one, and NEWW was certainly good for that. I got a little bit of three, and a little bit of nine. So...let's try for more achievable wishes this year or something?
1) I wish for people to examine their behaviour and try to be a little bit better. Fail better, is the phrase I like best. No one will be perfect about everything, but try to be at least less awful.
2) I wish for all of Narbonic. I'm bidding for some of it on e-bay, so maybe I'll wind up with some of the books on my ownsome, but five and six don't appear to be up there, and I wannnnnnnt so bad.
3) Send me letters! My address is here and is valid until May, at which point I will provide a new address. Bonus --I just found a stash of envelopes with stamps and return addresses, so I'm gonna try and send some letters to people or something.
4) Make me a mix-tape! Dude, you don't even have to use a CD for this, put together twelve to twenty-four songs or so, write some liner notes about what the hell these songs have in common, drop them into a zip file, and e-mail it to me.
5) I continue to want goggles that go over my glasses and look kinda neat.
6) I want less stuff. Come over and help me decruft somehow. Or tell me you want my stuff, and which stuff of mine you want, and, I don't know, toss me a couple of dollars so I can mail it to you. Among other things, I think I'm going to have to start going through my random toys and my ducks and cull them --quite plausibly by bringing a basket of toys to Arisia to give to random people who catch my fancy.
7) I need money, _really badly_, and right now, one of the best ways for me to do that is to do various odd jobs. I can do babysitting (any age), I can do housework, I can do organizing, I can do random yardwork, and I'm not really proud. I will happily do things for money.
7a) Anybody want to buy pretty shiny earrings made of origami or other weird things? I should set that up into a better store sometime, because yeah, this would be useful.
8) Take me out for sushi. Come dancing with me. Convince me to take you to the science museum. Platonic or not, those are my three favourite dates, and I would love to do any of them, with any of you. Oh, and if you're the sort to explore the corners of the world where most people never go...I would love to join you, to find those places with you, to learn.
9) Tell me stories, in writing or vocally. Bonus points for feeding my voyeuristic side. What, I am not proud!
10) So, I was talking with Matt the other day, and hit upon the possible idea of hosting a barefoot ball as graduation party --or hell, even just a graduation party as graduation party. If you have ideas for how one would do that in Boston when one does not have a house of their own, that would be useful!
Perhaps I will make an actual christmas list sometime, or otherwise update my wantlist. But for now, these are some things I currently want for Holiday.
What do you want? I'm horrible at presents, but I like to make people happy. It's quite the conundrum sometimes.
