I have been dreaming like a vivid thing these past few days. Only bits and pieces stand out --from Saturday night, a vague 'feel' of being in both the books I'd read recently (Ender's Game and Kushiel's Dart, and let me tell you, that was just...whut?) as well as a truly nightmarish bit of body-warping...let's just say I made Argus look blind1

Sunday night had nothing more traumatic than a spider. A spider that was large enough that I looked at it, went "wow that's big", got back to the room I'd been in, and, as if a director hissed at me that the emotion I needed to be conveying was fear, suddenly got Very Very Nervous about said spider.

Last night was more normal, being just a need-to-pee dream (one of those where you keep looking for a bathroom until your body kicks in and goes "Hurr, why don't we just wake up and go to the bathroom now for reals". But it was at Dragon*Con! I got to ride in a frightening elevator, wander around being lost, wave at some Looney Labs rabbits, exchange comforting words with Alex, about his current journey2, and unsuccessfully keep an eye out for Sparr.

Soyeah.

I fundementally know that dream posts are boring, and I'm often struck by "why did I even post this, hurr?" when rereading, but right now, they're on my mind. Especially as parts of them are uninterpretable --just my subconscious being really weird.

MOOP!

1: ...what, you want a hint or something? Go read D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths. It's a bloody well fantastic read, safe for kids, and one of the best books I grew up with.

2: My friend Alex is on a grand and glorious journey of hiking the Appalachian Trail. It's at least in part so he can find himself, and in the dream...he had rather a sense of being more serene, more stable. Which is really really good, and makes me hopeful for a successful outcome of his trip.

D'Aulaire's illustration was already the first thing into my head when you mentioned Argus. I spent a lot of time reading that book as a kid, along with Norse Gods and Giants.

:D

I (almost surprisingly) never got into the Norse myths as a kid, and even now, have only a passing knowledge of them. But yeah, D'Aulaire is awesome.

So Sparr caught you? Or you didn't find him while you were actively looking for him?

Also -- I've had one or two pee dreams that involved the same running around craziness and then finally -- me relieving myself in said dream... And reality. :(

I did not wind up finding him, but I was semi-actively looking for him.

I've been lucky enough not to have pee dreams translate to real-world peeing in a veerrrrrry long time. But yeah, it sucks.

You are welcome to try! I like trying to figure out what's going on myself. It's a bit like the tarot thing.
