I think I've told you this before, but in case not: the most useful thing I learned at Swarthmore was, "No matter what you say or do to me, I am still a worthwhile person." That was from freshman orientation. It works very well as a (literal) mantra, not just for other people, but for the universe in general.
As for the rest, you probably know by now that you can lean on me as much as you need.
