Psst! Pretend it's the eleventh still! Going by the general rules of such things1, it is still today.

Two years ago today (coff, eleventh, coff) it was 2007. And I had...music.

Well, okay, I didn't really. I had, as I proudly announced, 2980 songs. Which is a good deal of music --9.11 Gigs, or about 6 and 2/3 days.

Yeah.
Yeah.

Let's take a quick little looksee into itunes and see what kinds of numbers Vera is currently packing.

Hm. 7017 items, 16:02:46:47 total time, 23.95 GB. Wow. Now that is approching more like a good deal of music. We're looking at a little less than twice and a half times as much, in two years.

And because the original post was so into that, let's look at some

Of this music:
22.72% is Showtunes (1594/7017)
42.47% is stuff that I had two years ago (2980/7017)
41.51% has never been played (2913/7017)2
00.37% has been played more than 100 times (26/7017)
00.01% has been played more than 200 times (1/7017)

That's all!

MOOP!

1: The day doesn't change until the sun rises or sleep occurs.
2: That's right. I have almost as many tracks now that I haven't listened to than I had tracks two years ago. Wowsers.

What's the 0.01%?

I seem to have 5504 items, 15:02:00:57, 26.20 GB. Only 382 have never been played (and a bunch of those are incorrect, probably from when my library got screwed up and I had to restore it from backup a few months ago.

30/90, from the musical "tick, tick...BOOM!" --I wound up listening to it on repeat for something like four hours straight, which gave it a big huge boost. It's currently got almost 100 more plays than the second most played song. (Louder than Words, also from ttB!)

It's a good damn song, and at that moment in time, it Just Fit.

i still haven't managed to burn my Happy Chirpy Poingy CD yet so i'm almost pondering the usefulness of a mp3 player all the whilst wrangling with the Ornery Ferret what likes her compact discs, dammit.

. o O (hmmm, i need a Musical Ferret icon....)

I want a copy of that CD.

You need to get a drawing of a ferret with big ol' headphones on! It'd be adorable.

Hee, well, it's up to 96 songs at the last count...and has a wide variety from 60's bubblegum pop to 80's bubblegum pop to the likes of Crazy Loop! i 'spose i could zip up what i have & pass it along to you somehow...

And my request has been formerly submitted to Mommy.. i shall just have to remember to nag her about it because between the two of us will forget about it over time! ;D

*uses Scipio in the meantime*

5525 items if you ask Windows, 5352 according to Songbird (I'm guessing some didn't make it into my library somehow). 36.0 GB, every last bit of it listened to at least once. I don't know how much time, Songbird doesn't (yet?) give reports like that; well over 10 days, though, when I last tried putting everything in Winamp a couple years ago that's how long it was.

Stupid keyboard, posting before I'm ready.

Heh. Stupid keyboard indeed!

If I were to venture a guess, I would suspect that much of your music is significantly better than mine, too. ;D I mean, completely ignoring the fact that I have utterly no taste, I tend to just accept free music, which is, um...potentially a bad idea. Like...way bad, sometimes.

I'm actually a little distressed that the percent has dipped so far below 25%. It was fluctuating right around there for ages and ages.
