sorcyress: Drawing of me as a pirate, standing in front of the Boston Citgo sign (Default)
[personal profile] sorcyress
This is gonna be a long one, kids --I'm redoing a meme from five years ago: 2004.

YAY MEME!

1. What time is it? 6:18 pm
3:23 AM. Yes, I don't actually sleep.

2. WHAT HAPPENED TO NUMBER 2? A more interesting question would be, What happened to number 1.5?
Bleh. I do not like it when I try to be witty and fail.

3. Any nicknames? We try to avoid those, as they mostly play off the feline version of my name. Other then that, I go by Sorceress, Origami, OrigamiSorceress (I sense a theme here) SorceressKat, kdsorceress, Genevera/Gretchen/Discord/Gina/Mallory (what is it with me and charecters whose names start with G?) Kaida, "That crazy chick who dresses oddly", and Malic-I mean, Mallory. Yeah, Mallory. Not Malice. *evil grin*
Hee. This is from when Alis was around the first time, and I was using her as a sort of alternate personality.

Also, current nicknames are Sor and Kat. I've begun to get more chill about the feline nicknames, but I still hugely dislike them.

4. Parent's names? Fred and Lisa. Oh, you mean my REAL parents don't you.
Again, witty, fail.

5. Number of candles that were on your last birthday cake? 14. actually...the last birthday cake I had wasthe one I shared with V, I belive, and that only had 13. I think.
Man, my last birthday cake had one candle on it. And it was a pie. BUT THE CANDLE WAS IN A DINOSAUR HOLDER SHIT YES!

6: Date you blew them out? See above, I think it was sometime in mid September.
28 August, 2008. I was nineteen!

7. Any pets? Well, lets see...I have an attention hog named Dmitri, who I love with all my heart. *hugs her computer*, I have a very Bossy cow, I have my Origami Cranes, I have my Lego Pirate Minions, and I have a cat.
I suppose that makes Vera my current pet. *snuggles!*

Dorm is not allowed to have animals. I still really want a snake, though.

Oh, and I have Lazarus! Lazarus is my pony. <3

8. Any Tattoos? That would be telling...Actually, no, although I draw on myself on a regular basis.
I still draw on myself on a regular basis. And I won't have my own tattoo until I'm on my own medical insurance in case of things going wrong. So decreed by the parents.

(I want my ankh tattoo almost as bad as I want an industrial. Sigh. Stupid bodymod loving roommates being a bad influence on me.)

9. How much do you love your job? "What job? No one needs a babysitter anymore"(from Veronica's) Well, let's see...*superior smirk* I have my babysitting, and my TechSys teacher is looking for a good sitter, sooo...And of course, I will never be content with only one job, granted, Babysitting's the only one that pays, but I also manage the Lair, watch AYaW being played on Sluggy.net, write the OotF news, help write LARP's, give out magic cookies, piss of my sibs, draw, write, and in general, entertain myself...Anyway, i really like ALL my jobs.
Working at the thrift store is the best job ever. Being unemployed kinda sucks.

Also, piss of? Piss of?! Sor, what the fuck does that even mean?

10. Birthplace? Bawstan...Or for those who don't have the unique accent, Boston
Technically, Malden. Which I don't know how to Bostonify, but then again, I don't think you really *do*.

11. Favorite vacation spot? ORIGINS!!!! Or, any LARP played with the Labour Day Weekend crowd.
I...Yeah. Probably I prefer science fiction cons to Origins these days, butyeah. Cons. LARPS. Let me be either totally myself or totally not for a weekend. It'll make me a happyKat.

13. Stolen any traffic signs? I dunno...Are you a cop?
Heh. That's actually amusingly witty, if overplayed. Brava, 14!Sor. Also, no.

14. Ever been in a car accident? Yeah, and we got to go look at big fruit things that we decided were Monkey Brains.
I have nothing witty to add to this.

15. Croutons or Bacon bits? Neither. I don't like crunchy things that fall apart in my salads.
One of the most totally distressing things about college is that I apparently like bacon now. I never used to, at all. But over the last year and a half, I've been eating bacon with an increasingly high number of meals.

Also, I apparently (as of like two weeks ago) like sour cream. What the _unholy hell?!_ Stupid developing taste buds.

(Alsoalso, spicy things are rapidly becoming more and more delicious. Oh, and grapefruit! Yay grapefruit.)

16. 2 door or 4 door car? Actually, I prefer Companions. Dragons score pretty high too.
Ah, but after there was a white horse, there was a blue box...

17. Coffee? No thanks. Soup?
This is starting to creep (very slowly) back into my lexicon. I'm pretty excited about that, really.

18. Salad Dressing? Ranch!
Right on, 14!Sor.

19. Favorite movies? ooo, they said movieS, as in more then one...The fools...Finding Nemo PotC, LotR, tNBC, MPatHG, Labrynth, The Princess Bride, A zillion Flash Cartoons, anything by Pixar, Disney's animated Robin Hood...
V for Vendetta, Con Air, Snakes on a Plane, Love Actually, Across the Universe, 10 Things I Hate About You, Wall-E, The Incredibles, and Clue are all ones that I am more or less always willing to watch. If that doesn't make it a favourite, I don't know what does.

20. Favorite color? Currently I'm grooving on Black, Lime Green, Orange, and Chartruse (but not all at once)
Yeah, that's pretty right. Greens are excellent. Orange is my colour. Black is decent and all purpose. I like colours, really.

21. Favorite Holiday? My favorite Days of the year are Friday the 13th, February 29th, February 18th, August 28th, August 25th, December 25th, January 1st, December 31st, The whole week between X-mas and New Years, and any ocassion when people give me presents. Oh, and Labour Day Weekend rules! So does any day when I'm at a con.
Technically, most of those are not holidays.

I have had two _absolutely fucking spectacular_ New Years' in a row. I'm going to have to go with that. (And Talk Like a Pirate Day. And No Pants Day.)

22. Favorite Foods? Ice Cream, usually. Lemon flavored stuff. Sour Stuff.
Lemon is my favourite flavour, followed closely by peppermint. Mangos are amazing. Potatoes are my favourite staple. Ice Cream is really quite wonderful though, yes.

23. Favorite day of the week? Wednesday. Why? Darned if I know...
From a purely theoretical sense, this has been true since about the sixth grade. Currently, Wednesdays are the day where I have six straight hours of classes. And while Number Theory is absolutely amazing, aouhigj.

Currently, probably Mondays. I don't like doing class all day, but SCD is pretty much the high point of my week.

24. Favorite songs? A DDR remix of NeverEndingStory I found, Healing Vision, a DDR remix of Oops I did it again, This really funked up version of the EFNY theme song, Stay on the Happy Side, Too Shy, Anything by Weird Al, the list goes on, and on!
So. Techno. Based. Aiee.

Of course, based on what I've been listening to a lot of recently...Around the World by ATC, which 14!Sor would've *loved* Also, right now, Die Vampire Die and Nine People's Favourite Thing from [Title of Show]. For artists, Amanda Palmer/The Dresden Dolls, World/Inferno Friendship Society (<3!!), and Great Big Sea. OH HEY! I know what I haven't bragged about in here! I'm going to a Vienna Teng concert in a few weeks, and am ridiculously psyched about this.

25. Favorite TV Show? TV? Whats that? OH! Thats that weird box thing that people are so fasinated with, isn't it? My favorite "TV shows" are Sluggy Freelance, CRFH, GPF, User Friendly, Spare Parts, Geek Salad, 21st Century Fox, Goats, Homestar Runner.com, Weebl's Stuff, Tailstreak.tk, Irritability, SGVY, Alice!, Something Positive, Penny Arcade (which I only just started) and 1/0 (which has ended). Oh wait, those are all webcomics (with the exception of H*R + Weebl) aren't they?
14!Sor is a pretentious twit. Also, I find it a bit depressing that I read exactly two of those now --CRFH, and Something*Positive. 1/0 remains one of the best comics on the internet, though. Forget Scott McCloud, before you create your comic, you should go read that glorious work of art.

(I should reread it...)

OH! Also, Dollhouse and Wonderfalls are what I'm currently watching with Magus. Middleman is possibly my favourite TV show ever, and yes, I am taking into account Black Books and Coupling when I say that. Doctor Who is great as well.

26. Favorite book? Just one? The Da Vinci Code, Fahrenheit 451, The Killer Angels, Myste Lackey's Valdamar books, Tamora Pirces books, ASOUE, Sabriel, Liriel, and Abhorsen, Artemis Fowl I-III, all the abovementioned Webcomics, The Princess Bride, etc, etc, etc...The list goes on and on and on. Also, anything by Roald Dahl, a multitude of fanfics, Wolf Tower, Chicks in Chainmail, Howl's Moving Castle, The Luckiest Kids in the World, anything I've written, Harry Potter, Pure Dead Magic, The Pirates Mixed Up Voyage, Regarding the Fountain, Letters From Camp, Ella Enchanted, The Glass Slipper, Holes, Zel, Mr. Mysterious and Company, The Redwall books, especially Mariel of Redwall and Pearls of Lutra, more etc...See how many I came up with after I finished writing the first bit? I am such a BookWyrm!

Heh. Honestly, about the only things I have to add are this little book called "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" (perhaps you've heard of it?) and Boy Meets Boy. Also, comics, yum. Transmet, Fell, Sandman. Alsoalso, _Da Vinci Code_?! 14!Sor, I think you're a moron. Just so you know.

(You do get points for remembering that Roald Dahl is your favourite children's author, besides maybe Margaret Mahy.)

27. Most recently read book? Arrow's Fall by Mercedes (Myste) Lackey
Gnnnn. Transmet volume seven. I have no idea what I've read recently, which is a little depressing. Oh! Oh, Larklight. I read that during Dance Flurry, and it was fabulous --very steampunk.

(I don't read enough anymore. Sigh)

28. Perfume/Cologne? Seeing as I have met people who wear WAY TOO MUCH!!!! I don't wear perfume, and cologne doesn't interest me. I spelled cologne right without looking. I'm so proud of myself!!
I'm proud of you too, kiddo. Also, ew, scent. Scentbad.

29. Favorite scent? There are lots. Paper is good.
Paper *is* good. I have a favourite scent but it's kindof a secret. Lemon good. Mint *wonderful*

30. Favorite Fast Food place? Chick-fil-a
...which they don't have in Boston, sob!

31. When was your last hospital stay? Lesse...When I was 2.5, I stayed in the hospital to have my heart surgery (I have the coolest scar from that!), When I was 8, I fell out of a tree and had to be rushed to the emergancy room where I spent the night, When I was 14, I was sledding and rammed into a pile of dirt, breaking my wrist, and prompting my third hospital stay, only I only had to stay until 11. PM. And I have a feeling that I'm forgetting something really important, but I can't for the life of me remember what...Oh yes, I *didn't* have to go to the hospital when I cracked my head open and bled all over Gail's porch.
I'm pretty sure I haven't had a stay since then. When I took a tumble and tried to sprain my ankle, I visited whatever the one over there is. (Mount Auburn?)

32. How many times did you fail your driver's license? I'm 14 for 14. I never have managed to get that test right...Maybe if I actually learned how to drive I'd do better...
I failed once. And passed it less than a week later. I am fucking awesome, and really love driving.

33. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself in Massachusettes. That is a NOFTY state.
Man, this line is pretty much why I decided to redo this. 14!Sor, you are a very very clever girl. And I know it's only been five years, I decided to get a jumpstart on being in the best place ever.

34. What do you do when you are bored? You know...stuff.
That's...pretty accurate still, actually.

35. What are your favorite hobbies? Webcomics, GAMES, LARPing, Roleplaying, creating stuff, running around like a loon, DDR, and being myself.
Strike DDR, replace with dancing, and you've got yourself a pretty much perfectly up to date list.

36. Favorite chore? When I must eat the ice cream to keep it from going bad or melting or something. It's a hard chore, but someone must do it!
*laughs!* Oh, and when one of my concubines needs to practise their massage homework on me.

37. Least favorite chore? Cleaning the Catbox
Everything. Being in college and having to do things myself sucks so bad. Homework, though.

38. What part of the body do you like massaged? Sholders and the small of my back.
Mm, I am so sensible.

39. Microwave or oven? Depends, If I'm cooking something like spaghettios I like the nuker, but If I'm cooking a human body for instance, I prefer the heat and space of an oven. Oh, and FYI...if you want to destroy the evidence as fast as you can, do at least 1000 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. If you're trying to make it edible, the best taste comes from cooking the body at 450 degrees for 2 to 3 hours. ummm...not that I'd know...Yeah...This is just hypothetical...Um...I didn't do it!!!
I'm pretty sure I made those numbers up and they just wouldn't even begin to work.

...pretty sure.

40. Favorite magazine? Weekly World News, best and "truest" news there is. KodT, Dork Tower, Mad Magazine, and highlights.
Highlights, dear. It needs to be capitilized. And, besides the fact that two of those are comics, that's a great list.

Although present!Mad < present!Cracked.com. (For retro!Mad and Cracked, flip the direction of the carrot)

41. Furthermost place you sent this message? I could send it to Plangkye, who I belive lives in Massachusettes...You know, I think I'll do that. HI PLANGKYE!!! *gives Plangkye a Magus doll, even though she's over him*
Every once in a while, my interactions with Plangkye will lead to her mentioning Magus somehow. This is confusing as pretty much all hell, because she's not talking about my boyfriend, she's talking about the character from Chrono Trigger.

That being said, is it creepy that I really *really* want to make a little doll version of [livejournal.com profile] marcmagus now? Does it make it more or less creepy to say that I've wanted one of [livejournal.com profile] artemisfowl2nd since before we started dating?

42. Who will respond the fastest? I don't know. BritBrit maybe?
Who else is online at stupid o clock in the morning?

43. Least likely to respond? Not KT or V since they did already, Probably not Rohan since I've never seen him respond to one of these EVER, and not Luci-Claire for resons I'm not allowed to disclose.
Man, I want to know what those reasons are.

Also, as you may have guessed, I originally e-mailed this. Man, I miss e-mail thread conversations. Facebook just inherently irritates me for some reason.

WHAT TIME IS IT NOW? 7:53 PM, but I had to go eat dinner and stuff in the middle!
I want food. And, 3:58. It's *really* time for me to get to bed.

Who else is online at stupid o clock in the morning?
I am!

Also, ew, scent. Scentbad.
Noooooo. At least, used in moderation. The proper amount is two or three spritzes if it's in a spritzy bottle, preferably on warm pressure-point type places (on skin, never clothes). Just enough that people close enough (by which I mean really close, like inches) can smell it, but not so much that people can track you by nose hours later.

As for human cookery, I recall from somewhere (most likely Bones) that 1000 degrees for 30-40 minutes is nowhere near enough, especially the time. More like 3000 for hours to completely destroy a body; even then it's not enough to turn bones completely to ash. I think. They did an episode that involved a crematorium, it's been a while since I last watched it.

I suppose sous-vide is out of the question for culinary preparation? Vacuum packed in a (very) large plastic bag (perhaps with a few onions and heads of garlic, plus a few handfuls of other savory herbs and spices), and cooked in a vat of temperature-regulated water at 160°F for 2 days... It could probably be served whole, with carving knives.

Technically, Malden. Which I don't know how to Bostonify, but then again, I don't think you really *do*.

Depends on your definition of birthplace. We lived in Malden while I was pregnant, but you were BORN at the Brigham and Women's hospital which is quite definitely in Boston!

15 - Why is the idea of liking bacon horrifying? It's bacon! Everybody loves bacon!

23 - I think this is the part where I laugh at the idea of 6 straight hours of class being a lot.

15: It is made of fat and meat. I have never been anything even resembling vegetarian, but I don't like meat very much, and fat is just kinda ooky.

23: Yeah yeah. :P

That's why it tastes so good. :)
