Sleepdep influenced babbling about boys
Apr. 26th, 2008 02:22 amI am not going to write a proper report, because it's 0230, and I have to be leaving the house, packed and ready to go, in six and a half hours.
But, remember how I mentioned that there was this Incredibly Cute blue-haired boy in a skirt at contra dancing last night, who I am slightly morally uncomfortable with the idea of having a crush on, because he's pretty clearly younger than me?
So, I'm wandering around NEFFA with jere7my (Happy Birthday!!) and we wind up doing the convention thing and chatting with these random strangers, Mark and Sandy. Mark I had met a couple times before, we had some great conversation at AnimeBoston of the "I'm actually a scifi fan, not an otuku" "yeah me too!" variety, and we met at Arisia and stuff. So we were all hanging out getting to know each other.
Also present was Mark's son, Ian. Yay for fandom-children.
So, chat chat chat. General getting to know each other and realizing that these are exactly My Kind Of People (cuddly and friendly and wonderful and intelligent and geek!) and I determine that they, especially Mark since I vaguely know him better1, are totally my newest friends.
And then blue-haired boy walks up. And is all "Hi dad."
And I look at blue-haired boy, and he looks at me, and I say "I just lost the game", and he makes a face at me and everyone goes back to talking.
But, for serious? That was *weird*, man. My newest irrational crush is the oldest son of this guy who I am totally becoming friends with.
(To double the weird, Mark, Sandy, and I head off to do more contra, and run into David and Persis. The four adults immediately start talking cheerfully, in a fashion that suggests they've all known each other forever. And, somehow or another, after NEFFA, I wound up in a hot tub with all four of them, and with blue-haired boy inside hanging with Persis's daughter.)

MOOP!
(Also, Mark and/or Sandy, if you're reading this because you're hella efficiant (Go to sleep! You have NEFFA in the morning!!), uhm, I totally don't have designs on him. I promise. He's about...fourteen years too young for my tastes. Just...you're raising a damn cute boy. Soyaknow.)
(Alsoalso, blue-haired boy (and I do *know* your name, I'm just not using it in a public journal) uhm....please don't think I'm as totally creepy as I totally sound. You're damn pretty. If you were at least my age, I'd probably be flirting with youa lot more than I subtly have been)
1: And because Mark was in a skirt. I am vaguely incapable of paying enough attention to other people when I am around guys in skirts. Ferserious guys, you know how squee I get around guys in kilts? Double it.
Ohman, and there are so many guys in skirts at NEFFA. It is, indubitably, the Greatest Thing Ever.
