Pinewoodsy Accomplishments
Jun. 30th, 2021 01:04 amToday was actually quite a lot of a "getting things done" day. I didn't manage much around the house (sorry roommates) but here are the things I did successfully do:
*The big goal for the day was to finish creating the ESC buttons, so they could be shipped off to their makers and then brought back to me in a giant bag. And I did it! Including a few rounds of back-and-forth with the ESC chairs (mostly finicky colour choices) but they will be lovely and useful and it was nice to Do A Thing that required basically no drama or difficulty and will be appreciated at camp. I like that sort of thing.
*I also hung out with Maia on videochat and helped her get some packing done. There's been a wonderful bout of Pinewoodsians on Free Space Dinosaur posting their packing lists, which have a broad range of detail and categorization. It appears that Magus and I are on polar opposites of the detail spectrum, where he will write "etc" in the toiletries section and just assume that everything's in the toiletries bag where it belongs, while I will provide detail on *which* 32 pairs of underwear I bring for twelve days of camp.
*Speaking of packing lists, I think I've done a reasonable first pass of mine. Being as there wasn't camp last year, I am hopelessly out of practice. I think I will have eighty seven billion things, so, you know. Business as usual. Maybe this will be the year I bring some woolite for washing clothing in the sink, which will reduce my load by like five items or something.
*I did a bunch of administratia for ScotsPinewoods, which is good but exhausting. Thursday is gonna be the Big Day for it, where we attempt to create all the camper packets and print off a billion last minute things. But this also means I get to ride the FERRY so that's all for the best. (My co-chair lives on an end of the ferry line, public transit is great)
*Trying to think of what else --the day felt bigger than just that much? I had a very useful therapy, where I talked about the thing I've been subtweeting for a week so that Jenn has valuable reference to why I am screaming post-Pinewoods. Or, you know, potentially not? Maybe everything will work out happily ever after.
*I think tomorrow might be my last day to Actually Sleep In for some time, so I want to take advantage of that, but also like...my alarm was set for 9:59 this morning and I woke up well before it SO that's good times. Sleep seems unnecessary or whatever :P
God I am so excited to go to Pinewoods next year and not have to be in charge of anything, you have _no idea_.
