Well today has been a lot. I have been very very busy basically the whole day, and there are still plenty of logistics to logisticate and things to get done. Whee!

The rough sketch:

*Woke up at about ten. First order of business was getting the car packed and ready for the storage unit, and also getting my room sorted out and finished packed (I did most of it last night but still had some to do). I took apart the futon, and I got my room settled and then I packed the Lezburu full of stuff.

*Then was the part where I needed to put my box spring on top of the Lezburu. It took a very long time, and my first guess was completely wrong --I could recognize that I had the wrong idea for how to keep it secure given the rope we had, and so I did some googling and started over. Rey gave me lots of moral support, and I used three pieces of rope and six tautline hitches --fuck yes, the intersection of kink and girl scouts.

(seriously, I don't think you're supposed to do tautline hitches on hemp rope, but you know what happens when you do a reasonably non-slippy knot on extremely non-slippy rope? IT DOES NOT SLIP!)

*Rey and I went to the storage unit which was a Nice Adventure Together! We put some stuff in the storage unit! Now there is less stuff! Huzzah!

*Back to the house where we can begin loading the car for the first run to the hotel. After we eat lunch, because it's about four PM. We decided to do a quick run to some other returns of things before that, and I dropped an AC unit out the window like a dolt. Luckily, it was the one that we were trying to get rid of anyways, sigh.

*When Rey and Ezri returned from that adventure (I hung out at the house and worked on stuff in their absence, like...cleaning my room, I think? And the bathroom? Yeah, this is when I did the bathroom) we all loaded the car lickety split full of cat stuff and cat and etc and etc and Rey and Ezri headed off to the hotel! I cleaned Ezri's room and the dining room and parts of the kitchen in their absence.

*Ezri returned with the car (Rey stayed at the hotel with the cat) and I immediately swiped the car for a quick run to return borrowed air mattresses and say hello to Bethity-Beth. Then zoom back to the house and more loading for the second hotel run! By now it is reasonably late at night and there is still lots to do.

*Ezri worked on cleaning the kitchen more and packing the freezer and fridge stuff, while I packed the car. About 2/3rds into car packing, I came back to admit that there was no way in hell we were getting *everything* left into the car, and asked Ezri for priorities. So my bike is still back at the house, among other things. This is why we planned our last day to be the 30th, and not the actual last day of our lease.

*Finally Ezri and I got into the car and drove towards the hotel. We were going to get food on the way, but turns out all the fast food places close at midnight, what a shock. So I talked Ezri into the idea of going to the 24hour one open a couple miles away instead, and we emptied the car enough so Rey could join us, and we got like four things of fries and it was great.

*Back to the hotel. The car is still half+ full of stuff, but we've been putting away some of the things that are here, and talking about who does what where. I have taken over the hall closet to be my office for the six hours of meetings I have tomorrow --here's hoping that I require video for very few of them, since I really don't want to have to show my coworkers my chaoshotel.

I know where my work laptop is, and I know where my nice clothes are, and I even know where a bra is. So I can wake up without *too* much notice tomorrow, and it will be fine.

Have a nice night!

I am done moving out!!!

It has been a very long five days of moving (and a pretty long three days of packing immediately before that). I am definitely running a sleep-debt right now, which is extra annoying because I'd been relatively good at not doing that lately. I'd like to get to bed in time tonight to get eight hours --it looks barely possible.

(Have I mentioned how pumped I am that I do not have to commute to work? I am pretty pumped about that part.)

Ezri and I got to the old house at about 3:30, and left around 5:30 which was *wonderful* and honestly unexpected --so much of this moving process has taken "longer than expected" it was a delight to have something actually be quicker! To be fair, there wasn't *much* left to do --eat ice cream, wash the floor, put the last load of things in the car, take out the trash, eat more ice cream...

Then, due to shenanigans and adventurous intuitive driving, we made it back to the hotel at about 7. Once the car was emptied I considered myself to be officially "moved out" of the old place. I'll be officially "moved in" to the hotel once we've finished moving things around and cramming bags into nooks and crannies.

(Honestly, I made some pithy comment earlier about how we were arranging our tiny house, and that really is what it feels like. Three adults and a housecat living in a ~600 sqft suite is gonna be...an adventure, yanno? Lots of cooperation and communication. I'd say this will be good practice for the next year of our lease, but honestly, Ezri and Rey and I have been living together since March, we got this.)

Tomorrow's adventures are hopefully gonna include a bath, but Tuesday is my busy day (with therapy and DnD) so either the bath is going to be after 9pm, or maybe it will get pushed off until Wednesday. Or possibly Thursday. It's a four day weekend at school, so that might be the time to do it, as celebration, except with any luck I will feel less brutally sore by then.

Today was The First Day Of School, at least for teachers. I attended four meetings (there were some substantial chunks that "could've been an email" but some useful information was imparted). Our first twelve days of school are going to be ALL MEETINGS AND PLANNING ALL THE TIME, we get students for the first time on Friday the 18th. I'd be looking forward to it more if I wasn't still in hella exhausted and anxious moving brain.

Also I accidentally wore (what looks like) an identical shirt to the principal. This is...the dumbest thing to be amused/embarrassed by by far. Especially since, I hate to say it, he wore it better...or at least he was in an actual chair and not scrunched down on a pillow in a closet and therefore having the button-up shirt wear funny.

In closely related news, *wow* have I gotten out of the habit of wearing bras for multiple hours a day. This is 100% a small tiddy humblebrag, nyah nyah. But yeah, I don't think I ever thought of myself as a "leave the house without a bra on" person, until the last six months. *probably* when I begin doing my super bouncy dance hobby again I will get back into the habit on the reg, but it's been nice.

My hands are quite ded and I am excited to not have to carry anything any further than across the room for a few weeks. On the plus side, the ankle that I rolled immediately upon picking up the first box yesterday seems to be doing just fine! (It helps that I put that box in the car, came back to the house and immediately ace-wrapped the ankle. No I didn't do the rest and ice, but for a simple roll (and not a hard twist or worse) compression did me a lot.

My legs are currently delightfully leopard-spotted with bruises. It is...genuinely impressive. I count 27 right now, mostly small --the largest are about two inches across and there's only one or two that big. Ezri gave me some guff about how "you can lift things up with your arms" or something, but like...I know my strengths. Wrists and hands and grip, absolutely not. Legs and hips hellll yes! These dancer thighs and biker calves are not just for show! But uh, that does mean I balanced a *lot* of furniture against my legs as I was lifting it and yeah.

I dunno. There's more I could write, but it's definitely a bedtime for me, and not just because I gotta get up in just over eight hours. As I sit here full of carbs and salt and cookie, I feel a little closer to optimal spiderpile than I have the past several days --maybe there's just a psychic boost from knowing that I am _done_ with the old house.

...Of course, sorting out the new is gonna be about ten dozen adventures, but that's a problem for futureKat right now. The rest of this week is about relaxing and chilling out and finding the time to soak in a hot bath for a while. Maybe I could even read a book in there!

Love you all. I hope your lives have been good, and look forward to actually catching up with them soon!
