Today was a _wicked_ good day!

I made it to bells on time --this involved missing the bus I was aiming for, but also a new 73 mysteriously appearing about fifteen minutes later, which was just fine timing, and meant I like...showered and ate breakfast and stuff. Small practice today (mostly just five) which meant a lot of Doubles stuff, some of which I've rung before and was pleased to ring again (better?) like Huntley Place.

Austin showed up near the end, which meant I got to ring Cambridge minor for the first time since like...before winter break, I think. I have not lost it completely. I still don't think I'm ready for calls, Lauradi keeps pointedly reminding me that calls are the same as in Plain Bob. (I can no longer claim that I can't do Plain Bob Minor having rung a quarter peal of it. I don't know what the official Bells Rules Of Being Able To Ring are, but I think that once you've rung a quarter of a method, you probably officially know it.)

Bells lunch was quiet and nice, and then after Austin and I wandered to his place in order to attempt to find the missing spare car key, and eventually to drive to CarMax to appraise his beast.

We didn't find the key, but I convinced him to listen to the Hadestown soundtrack on the trip (with me providing story commentary along the way) and he seemed to really like it, so that was a definite positive! Also the CarMax folks offered him an acceptable monies so he will probably be selling his car soon and joining in the ranks of the carfree. I shall have to go get him a sticker from Wheelworks.

The not-finding-key was a bit of a bummer, but it did involve such entertaining nonsense as me getting to see his office (I deeply love getting to see people's offices, working in a strictly not-corporate environment makes cubical farms endlessly fascinating to me) and a generally high mood despite frustration. Then once we made it back home, we were able to make dinner!

I have come to the realization that part of my "I don't like cooking but I love sous-chefing" is that having to wait for an hour, alone, for food is deeply demoralizing and I never want to do it. But when you are doing all that alongside someone else, you can banter and help each other and joke around and the waiting is much less arduous!

We were making (more or less) Chef John's Samosadilla recipe which basically means samosas but with less difficult frying and more just eating the filling. They turned out _incredible_. So fucking delicious! Especially the lime-mint-cilantro chutney (maybe a little salt? The smallest bit of serrano pepper?) which was just...wow, it was great. We both had one, and then split a second one with slightly rueful "the stomach is starting to be full but the mind and tongue know how good those are..."

Now we are floppy on the couch and there is gonna be some video games and wearing pyjamas and everything is very peaceful and nice! I am pleased to have had a productive day (bells, car adventures, food) and also to be getting nice soothing date (one-on-one chatting as we tear through the house, car adventures, snuggles).

I hope your life is also really wonderful right now!
