Arrive just after three. Immediately carry large amounts of heavy stuff. Get complimented for being STRONG! Help assemble miniring, including exciting journey To Find Ladders. Mess around a bit with miniring. Play soothing presence for co-chair boyfriend. Compliment co-chair notboyfriend on her amazingly cute new haircut. Go hide in the library for an hour and work on Secret Project while service is happening. Sneak out of library to hang with people, then spend the first hour of ringing checking people in.
Second hour of ringing, I got some more miniring time (we got up to...er...hunting! But people kept coming in to learn how, which is pretty awesome stuff.) and worked on the drawings I'm doing of Stedman Cinques to try and learn some of the dodging patterns.
Then there was dinner -I sat with a surprisingly young end of the table, but the amazing thing about this hobby is that I am, by far, not the youngest person here. There are like...at least a full set of ringers who are younger!
Also it's worth noting that this is HIGHLY UNUSUAL for this hobby in general. Boston does good for The Youth, where Youth is anyone under like...40.
Biked home. Biked against the wind most of the way (including over the bridge, which was brutal, and up the very small chunk of hill that is the block before my house and oh fuck _that_ I hate it already.). This is extra unfair because when I biked *to* Advent, eight hours ago, it was biking into the wind as well.
Tomorrow I need to be at the car rental place at 8AM. I don't even want to think about how little sleep I'm going to get. I still _desperately_ need to wash my hair. I found my CDs (essential for doing large amounts of driving), and I'm mostly skipping doing other packing, so it's just finish the words (just done!) and wash the hair and then I can flop into bed and sleep for six hours.
It's _definitely_ just like a con!
